CHAPTER NINETEEN

THIRD PERSON POV

It’s total darkness, except for the weak flames from the candles kept at the farthest end of the room, at all four corners.

This dim glow illustrates clearly the features of the skulls kept hanging on the four corners as exotic decorations.

Inside the eerie room, three souls are seated comfortably in the darkness, able to see clearly the fresh blood markings that serve as art on the walls but convey a deeper and more dreadful meaning.

They acknowledge the old lady dressed uniquely, with garments made of human skin, with similar markings on her face as it is on the walls.

Her hands are covered in blood as she holds the still-beating heart of a beast, slowly squashing it completely into a bowl that contains the blood of the other five beasts which had shared the same fate as the recently killed one.

While gently squeezing the blood out of the heart, she mutters incantations with her eyes closed, and the three seated watch her with rapt attention.
