CHAPTER FORTY-SIX

NOAH’S POV

“Why does Sharain want to see me?” I hear Jasmine's voice as she walks into my room putting her hair in a bun.

“I’m not certain, she’s never direct with anything she says,” I say nonchalantly with my eyes fixed on her petite and delicate figure that always has me entranced.

“Cut her some slack, she sees into the future. She’s one of a kind,” she says walking closer to me, trapping my gaze as she makes lazy strides to the chair I'm seated on.

“I know this, doesn’t mean I can’t complain to you,” I say taking her hand as she sits on my lap with her eyes shimmering with happiness. “I take it you had a great day.”

“I did, she’s faring well and healthy, her usual over-energetic self though sad that I left her,” she says her tone changing from cheerful to unhappy.

“This makes you sad,” I state rather than ask caressing her cheek soothingly.
