CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

JASMINE’S POV

“Is it alright if I do?” I ask Noah, whilst we eat at the dining table.

“You just had another power surge, we don’t know what’s coming next, so I don’t think that’s a brilliant idea,” he says taking a bite out of his steak.

“I understand your concern, but I don’t feel different. Nothing is happening to me and it’s been two days since the power surge,” I insist, urging him to understand how important it is that I do this.

“Jasmine, can’t you wait a little while longer before going to see her?” he asks looking directly into my eyes and willing me to give in.

“I’ve been away from Reina for months now and I haven’t reached out to her, besides text messages. I’m sure she is worried right now and is probably searching for me. We’ve never been apart for this long and it’s taking a toll on me, I miss her but I can’t even call her because I’m afraid that if I talk to her I might spill something about the supernatural existence and I don’t want her getting sucked into this. I
