Chapter two

There was a rustling in the bush and the man standing beside it turned to check it out but before he could get to it, something jumped out and the next thing he knew, life was being strangled out of him. He tried so hard to free himself but it proved impossible and soon, he was in need of air and there was none, his eyes were rolling back at the suffocation and he wished someone would save him but that was a foul wish because soon, his eyes closed and he was sucked into the darkness.

Receiving no more struggle form the man, the arm around his neck released and the lifeless body dropped on the ground. The dressed in black man responsible for the death sniffled and rubbed his index finger under his nose. He walked noiselessly like a cat and hid by the wall when he heard movement approaching.

“I’m going to check on him now,” someone was saying while making a cut to where he was hiding, without a second left out, he grabbed him by the neck also and before the man could shout or react, he injected something into his neck and he went limp. Dropping his body as well, he picked the walkie-talkie that dropped out of the man and listened to it.

“What happened, is he good?” A voice was asking. Peeping from his hiding spot, he saw the man talking standing on the rooftop, it was a big mansion and he had taken his time to study the architecture. To get to his desired part, he needs to be extra careful because there were men guarding at each turn and the last thing he wants was for his presence to be noticed. He calculated his next move; first he needs to take down the man that has noticed the absence of the dead two if he doesn’t want him to alert the others. Reaching into the gun holster on his waist, he brought out his silencer. Targeting the man and when he was sure his body won’t drop in front of anyone, he fired.

He watched the body drop and made a move, there were three more men to take down for him to get to the window he wants, if he choose to go in through the house, he would kill more men and before he would be done, his presence would be known. So following the map he had memorized, he went straight to the maze. Getting out of it, he saw them, the three more men to kill. He knew he needs to act three times faster, each of them wears an alarm, if he lets one notice the death of the other, the alarm would go off before he could get to him, so the best idea was to separate them.

Picking up a stone, he threw it at the west direction. “What was that?” One of them asked, “go check it out.”

One nodded and left, the man in the maze knew he has exactly fifteen seconds to separate the other two or be done with them. So sneaking behind one and with his arm wrapped around his neck, he fired at the other one and brought his gun to the temple of the one struggling in his arm and pulled the trigger just before he could press the alarm. Dropping the body, he went to the edge of the wall and waited for the other one. He could hear him approaching and he waited, his gun and hand came out first and grabbing it, he pulled him closer and threw a punch at his face. Before he could recover, he fired and the body dropped dead.

Sniffling, he rubbed his index finger under his nose and walked on. Now before the window he has aimed, he made sure no one was coming and began his climb, he has taken four days to plan his abduction, the longest he has ever taken, if he doesn’t succeed today, he really has no idea when next he would. Pushing up the glass, he sneaked into the room. He noticed the bathroom light was on and quickly blended with the darkness of the room, standing near the wardrobe.

The light went off and the bathroom door opened and he saw a petite figure came out, she sniffled and ran her fingers through her hair before walking to the bed sluggishly, no doubt still sleepy. He waited, wanting her to relax before going to her. She tucked herself in the bed and moaned sleepily. The man waiting in the shadows waited for her to sleep in before going to her. He stood in front of her and gazed upon her face, with the moonlight sipping into the room, he couldn’t help but notice that she was beautiful, probably the reason her father refused to let her out of his sight, even at twenty eight, she doesn’t have a boyfriend.

Bending over her, he placed his gloved hand on her mouth and her eyes snapped open immediately and she reached under her pillow simultaneously but before she could get her colt.45 out, he had his hand on hers and looked at her in surprise. Having a gun under her pillow was the last thing he expected. She was breathing heavily and her sparkling blue eyes locked with his black ones. They both waited, each wanting to know what the other would do next, he had his hand on her mouth and the other on her hand, holding her gun down.

She flipped on the bed immediately, kicking him and his hand’s pressure on her mouth loosened that she was able to bite him hard. He grunted and threw his weight on her to hold her down, she was wiggling, trying to set herself free, hitting him on the back with her hand and he groaned, “quiet,” he muttered, his hand’s pressure on her mouth tightening and he knew she was having difficulty in breathing, “you stay quiet and I would remove my hand, deal, tigress?”

She was panting, glaring at him like she would kill him with any chance she got, her chest rising and falling with her heavy breathing. He chuckled and placed his gun on her temple, “do it, or I would blow your brains out, believe me I do it quite often.”

She looked at his hand holding the gun from the corner of her eyes and looked back at him, realizing that she was at disadvantage, she relaxed her stiff muscles but her eyes were still clouded in hatred. “Don’t look at me like that, dulce,” he sighed, “is not my fault somebody wants you.” Smiling, he raised an eyebrow, “I will be getting up now and you will be a good girl and shut up, this is a silencer, you would be dead before anyone could come in here, now you don’t want life to be taken out of this beautiful body, right?”

He got up from her with his gun pointed at her, “get up,” he ordered and she did, “now I know there is a secret door here that leads outside and can only be unlocked in this room, be a good niña and do so,” he nodded at her and she glared at him before doing as he said. Walking to her headboard, she pushed it down to reveal a button, “now darling, I know there is an alarm button, if I hear any alarm, I would kill you.”

She heaved a deep sigh and pushed the button and a door opened at the other side of the bed, “good girl, now go.”

“I’m only in my pajamas,” she hissed.

“Don’t worry, I have seen enough naked bodies in my life that I don’t care, now go.”

Hissing, she carried out his order and he followed her, the door closed immediately they were in, engulfing them in darkness. He felt the air before it happened, a blow was coming his way and he ducked, he was used to being in darkness and also, her pajamas was white so it gave him little light to locate her. She was running and he was in hot pursuit. Right before he grabbed her, an alarm sounded, she had pushed a button, “fuck,” he hissed, “I warned you did I not?”

“Go to hell!”

He smiled softly in the darkness, “you will go before me, darling,” he whispered and felt her fear before he knocked her out by hitting her head with the butt of his gun. She collapsed into his arms and he placed her on his shoulder and ran through the dark hall. A door opened on reaching a dead end and he smiled and ran out through it, finding himself on the same part he came in through. He could hear the guards behind him and without wasting time, he ran into the maze, it would have been a smooth abduction if she hadn’t gone and sound the alarm, but that’s okay, he knew he has no obstacle ahead of him. Approaching the locked gate, he fired at the men standing guard and fetched a detonator from his pocket and blew the gates out.

His car was parked in the bush and making his way to it, he unlocked it with the remote while still far from it. He could hear the men behind him, if he doesn’t get out now, it would be a blood bath and he might not escape with his prize. Opening the backseat door, he tossed her into it and shut the door. Climbing into the driver’s side, he started the car and stepped on the accelerator, driving though the bush and hearing the gunshots fired at the car.

He drove into the road ducking the bullets that made their way to the windscreen, his foot still on the accelerator and he sped out, gone from their view. He knew they would be after him in their own cars so he didn’t stop until he was a good distance away. He packed behind a black BMW and got out. Opening the back door, he carried her out and kicked the door shut then walked to the BMW, he unlocked the back door, put her in, shut it and opened the driver’s door. He got in, started the car and sped off. His mission was complete.

He pulled over in the driveway of a bungalow outskirt of town in the early morning, he opened the garage with a remote and drove in. parking the car, he got out and opened the backseat door just as she was getting up. She scrunched her face in pain, definitely because of the blow she suffered at the temple. He chuckled, deliberating leaving her in the car and taking her in but at the end, he decided to go in with her.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her up, she moaned softly and placing her on his shoulder, he kicked the car door shut and walked to the wall to press a button to close the garage, taking the door next to it, he came out into a well furnished living room, all white with a little touch of brown and brown marbled flooring. He dropped her on a white couch and she grunted in pain, opening her blue eyes to glare at him, “I don’t expect you know any way to treat a woman,” she hissed.

He smiled and pulled off his gloves, “I never had a reason to learn,” he replied in his soft sensual voice.

She rolled her eyes and sat up on the couch and looked around, she didn’t say anything but he could see from her expression that she was impressed, his home was to die for, he knows. “I don’t expect to tell you that you made a mistake kidnapping me, by night this beautiful house of yours would be in ruins. My father won’t stop until he finds me,” she looked at him.

His smile never left his face as he went to the fireplace to place his gun on top it, turning; he raised an eyebrow, “is that so? What makes you think your father can find you?”

She scoffed, “he is the most feared drug lord in Las Vegas, I don’t expect I need to introduce him to you.”

He nodded, “hmm, that means you know about his underworld dealings, that’s impressive.”

She offered him a fake smile, “so let me go before he comes here.”

He chuckled softly and approached her in slow but steady steps, “since you know the truth about your father and know about this world, I believe you would know of someone even your father wouldn’t dare to just attack without a perfect plan.”

She furrowed her brows, thinking about what he meant and when realization downed on her, she asked, “who are you?”

“The very person you just thought about.”

She didn’t say anything but he could see her gulp and her heart beating faster than usual, never in her life had she thought that her captor was none other than the El Diablo himself.
