I flinch as I hear my name, my heart skipping a beat, thudding, and skipping a beat again. My eyes land on the petite platinum blonde that races to the bed with excitement flashing in her eyes. It's Mia, my only female friend. An eccentric one, of course. "Mia?" I furrow my brows, gently. She comes closer to the bed, her sharp eyes resting on a dazed Asha. "Ha, a woman on your bed? That's new," she turns to me with a skeptical look. "Is she your fuck buddy? Since when did you have a fuck buddy? I thought—" My ears burn while she rambles off nonsense, "Hey, that's enough!" I quickly cut her short before she does more damage. Asha exchanges a puzzled look between me and back at Mia. "Uhh, hi?" She finally wrenches words out of her mouth. "Hello. Are you his girlfriend?" Mia plops on my side of the bed, her scrutinizing eyes now gleaming with mischief. Asha shakes her head, flustered as heck, "What? No!" She waves her hands, looking panicked. "She's not my girlfriend," I groan, "How does it matter to you? Why are you even here?" "I just wanted to check up on you. I heard you weren't well, and came to see how you were doing," she pauses, then lunges at me, "You idiot, how dare you not tell me you were sick?!" She hits my shoulder, fuming. I gently shove her hand away, "I was being taken care of. There's no need to worry about me," I exhale, getting off the bed. "Hm. I still don't understand your relationship. If she's not your girlfriend nor fuck buddy, why is she on your bed? You almost don't allow me on your bed," she groans. I rake through my hair, heading towards the mirror, "Your questions are getting unnecessary," I hiss, an irking irritation building up in my chest. "The story's a bit more complicated. I wouldn't want to date that bastard," I hear Asha's sneer. Hah, that arrogant bitch. I look over my shoulder, giving her a hard glare, "You're being too arrogant these days." "It's not as if you're so polite?" She sneers back at me. Oh what do I do with her? I hold my already throbbing head. "Aww, are you guys keeping your love a secret from me? Oh my gosh, this is just like the storybooks! That enemies-to-lovers trope!" Mia squeals. "You read too many fantasy stories," I sit my butt on the chair, "Those are all illusions; they aren't real, Mia." "Oh please! That's exactly what all those male leads say! Ooh, this is so spicy!" I glance in their direction, and catch Asha's gleaming eyes staring at me. Her gaze is so intense, my heartbeat picks up, pounding faster than usual. A searing heat spreads throughout my chest to my limbs, making them feel numb for some seconds. Worried, and a little panicked, I tear my eyes from her hauntingly beautiful ones. My body tingles, and trembles violently. What the heck is happening to me all of a sudden? "Look how she's looking at you with love in her eyes, Auren! Oh, I think I'm going to faint!" She continues her breathless squealing. "I- I wasn't looking at him with love! Why would I do that?" Asha's protests fill the air but Mia only continues her teasing. I steal another glance at Asha. This time, Mia has her arm wrapped around her, while she just continues protesting, hiding her face behind her hands. My heart continues its relentless pounding, threatening to leap out through my throat. This is weird. Am I supposed to feel this way just looking at her? "Auren, what do you think? Why don't you just make her your girlfriend? Since she's already on your bed, you might as well finalize the whole thing," she winks at me. "You don't even know the reason I'm on his bed," Asha drawls. "I would know if that fool narrated everything to me," Mia gives me a scornful look, her eyes throwing invisible daggers at me. "I'm sorry, I'll narrate everything to you once I have the chance," I rub my temples. At that instance, her phone rings, breaking the thin tension that hangs in the atmosphere. "Hello? Yes? Oh, I was at Auren's," she jumps off the bed, "I'm on my way now." I cock her brow at her hurried gestures. She hangs up, and rushes towards the door, "My knight just called. Have fun, you two!" She winks, and rushes out the door. Whew, one obstacle down. My eyes meet with Asha's again, and my heart skips multiple beats in a second. The tension has suddenly returned. It's so heavy, that a slice through it would make it bleed. "Why didn't you tell her? Not everyone can come to your place and assume we're.. a thing," her gorgeous hair falls over her flushed face. I open my mouth to say something, but I'm too dazed staring at her glorious face. The deep auburn hair complements her fair skin, and wide eyes. Those fucking eyes... I get to my feet, moving in her direction, finally finding the words that were lost in my chest. "Don't worry, she's the only one who can barge into my place like that, and she doesn't even visit this place often. You're safe, pumpkin." Damn, I just want to hold her against myself, and feel her heat seep through her clothes, scorching my bosom. The thought of this makes all my blood rush downward in a wild frenzy. Haa, you fucking perverted fool. If only she could read your mind, she'd be so disgusted. I close the space between me and her side of the bed, and enclose her in the tiny space left. Her pupils dilate, her hands stretching to block herself from my advances— not that I have one in mind. "You're not supposed to invade my personal space, young man! Rules are rules!" She squeals. I stay still, my hands by her side, and my knee propping my weight on the bed. I really want to feel her softness, to scratch this wild, burning itch in my chest. I don't like this feeling at all, and I just want it to die... But at what expense? I pull away reluctantly, mentally scolding my horny little man that she's not some toy you just lunge at. "I'm sorry, I was just—" Her skin goes pale. Her pupils momentarily disappear, the hairs on her neck standing erect. "Asha?" Frozen, with goosebumps riddling her skin, she falls flat on the bed, not moving. My heart stops for the next few seconds, hot panic searing in my blood. "Asha!"Asha "Asha?" Auren calls. I don't respond. I just sit there frozen in place. It's dark. Like really dark. Jet black dark. I can't see a thing. It wasn't this dark when I was thrown into that room with Auren, or even when we got stuck in the middle of nowhere. At least, I could see some stuff. But this is not the case. I hate this kind of dark. I hate the memories associated with it. I never want to be in a dark room. The goddess knows the trauma that followed each time I was in a dark room. I hear the stove being turned off. "Let me go check the wires; something must have gone wrong with them," he says, and I hear his footsteps shuffling for the door. "Auren wait! Don't leave me here!" I cry out in panic. I hear his footsteps pause, "Is something wrong?" "I- I'm scared of the dark," I admit, my bones trembling as though a block of ice were shoved through my throat. "You're a werewolf. Why would you be scared of the dark?" An amused chuckle leaves hi
Asha "I can't have you feeling sick" Auren groans, "Whatever is wrong with you? Can't you at least describe your symptoms?" He places me gently on the seat. "I- I'm actually fine," My hand instinctively grabs his collar. He pauses, his brow cocking, "Hm?" "I'm not sick," My cheeks warm up, and I immediately look away. "Then what's the matter with you? Why were you acting as though you were on the brink of death?" "I don't think your brother is trustworthy," I sigh, "I did that so we could get away from him." He pulls away from me with a grimace, "How would you know that?" I'm not supposed to tell you— or am I? "Don't play with me. I'm not in the mood for your games right now." I bite my lower lip to stop me from saying utterly vile words. "Get in the car," I gently pull him in, "We should leave. Our welcome has been overstayed." He heaves, slumping into the seat, "You're right. It's already late, you must be exhausted." Tch. The driver kick
Asha Auren comes back to the car looking distressed. His brows are pinched together, his eyes slightly narrowed. 'Zarven couldn't do this to me. It can't be.' I arch an eyebrow. Who's Zarven? What couldn't he do now? I gasp, placing my fingers over my mouth. Oh my goodness, is somebody dead? Did this Zarven kill someone? He opens the car door and enters inside, "Drive," he tells the driver, "Now. To Zarven's place." The driver nods, and kick starts the engine. "What's the matter? You look unhappy all of a sudden," I ask. He shakes his head, "It's not something you should worry about, princess," he grumbles, looking out the window. Bad thing, I can read your mind, duh; worse thing, I don't know what's going on. ... We arrive at a stony mansion. I mean, this baby is literally made of stones, those ancient vibes and all. Or maybe this is a castle? I alight from the car, my eyes going wide at the ancient yet majestic sight before me. Auren alights from
Auren I walk outside to the car where Asha is. She's resting her head against the headrest, her beautiful hair falling over her face. Mm. Some peace and quiet I guess. I gently open the car door so I won't wake her up, but the minute I get into the car, she jerks up, whipping her head in my direction. "Oh, it's you," she grumbles, rubbing her eyes sleepily. "It's okay. You can go back to sleep," I sigh, closing my eyes and resting against the headrest. "I don't want to anymore," I feel my side of the seat dip in. I open my eyes, and look her way, "What's the matter?" "Wh- what were you doing in there? Did you actually kill someone?" Her wide eyes shine at me. I swallow the lump caught in my throat, and look away. Haa, those fucking eyes. "Yes," I reply glumly. She goes silent. Only the sound of her breathing can be heard. "How do you sleep at night knowing that you've murdered someone?" She huffs. "Like a god-damned baby," I shoot her a glare to sh
AurenFinally.Time for payback. I stand outside the building where Rheagar's men are supposedly hiding out. I turn to Raze, and give him a nod, "Go scope the place out with the others, and come give me report. I can't go in with cupcake over here," I tilt my head to Asha who's still sitting in the car. "Yes boss," he nods, heading towards the building with three of my other goons. "Do you think it's necessary to fight them back?" Asha's voice rings in my ears. I look over my shoulder, "What are you trying to imply?" "I'm just saying, I don't think it's necessary for you to pay him back. You could just let it go," she shrugs. A hint of a smile appears on my lips, "such an innocent little princess," I run my thumb over her lower lip, "I believe I have told you before, I'm a member of the underworld. This is my life, pumpkin." I grin just to infuriate her. Her face goes bright red, and she smacks my thumb off her lip, "So what will happen if you get killed? I h
Asha Auren's mind rushes with such perverted thoughts, despite myself, I feel the blood rushing down in my clit like crazy. I try to push those thoughts away, but his thoughts make it worse for me to concentrate. "You're not supposed to invade my personal space, young man! Rules are rules!" I squeal, blocking myself with my hands from his advances, but my heart races more with excitement than with fear. What would he really do to me? Does he really want to feel my skin against his? Will he go further than that? I shake my head in horror when I realize the bad influence his thoughts are having on me. He pulls away. I swallow hard, trying to cool my burning temperature, and tell my woman down there nothing's happening. Nothing's supposed to happen. "I—" A sudden wave of electric washes through my body. The hairs on the back of my neck, stand erect, my pupils blowing wide. You're mine, Asha. I won't stop until I claim you. Excuse me? You're mi
