CHAPTER 6
SHE WAS BITTENSelena nodded her head. “No, Xavier.” She spoke quietly. If Xavier is close, Selena will always act calmly. “It’s all right. I’m fine. You know what? I had no business being here in the first place. “I’m going to leave.” She turned around and ran out of the room, and Xavier was unable to pursue her since Jazmine had held him back. Selena collided with someone while running and fell, but the other person grabbed her. She was terrified and gasping for air, but she was also relieved that she hadn’t died. She lifted her head and looked at the person who had helped her. When she finally obtained a glimpse of the person’s face, her heart began to beat quickly. She wondered at first, “How could someone be this beautiful?”The man was attractive and tall. Selena questioned how a man with such beauty could have been made by god since he possessed a face that could make women swoon. His flawless lips were calling out to her. He was dressed in black pants and a black blazer. She only realized he was holding her waist when he finally let go. “Thank you.” Selena murmured with a sniff. He should be one of Xavier’s friends, given how gorgeous he seemed. But she’d never seen him before. “If you’re looking for Xavier, he’s there.” The man said nothing; he simply nodded and walked away, and Selena didn’t take her gaze away from him until he was gone. Perhaps this wasn’t her night. She exited by turning toward the gate. She went outside, got in her car, and sat down. She put her head on the chair’s back as she reached into the compartment box for her phone. Hania had left numerous missed calls when Selena switched on her phone. She sighed and closed her eyes, but was surprised by an unexpected voice. The sound of a man’s voice. He was arguing as if he were on the phone with someone. Selena took a quick peek outside after rolling down her vehicle window and remembered the previous encounter. He was the same person she had met before. He was the same guy who had abandoned her in his sight. He was walking towards the woods. Selena got out of the car and went after him, but he vanished before she knew it. Selena paused in front of the trees. What may have happened to him? She pondered. She turned her head in every direction, but all she saw were shadows. She took a step forward before turning around and walked backward, telling herself that following that boy inside would be silly. The part of her that was in love wanted to follow him to see what he was up to, but another part of her told her not to even try. After a while of waiting outside, Selena shouted, “Fuck it.” She had to go inside to find the boy because he hadn’t returned. She turned on her phone’s light before entering the woods, but all she could hear were crickets. She then stepped on something that made a noise, which surprised her; however, when she shined her light in its direction, she saw that it was nothing more than a thong of dried leaves. She stepped ahead and continued to search, but she couldn’t locate anything. “Where did he go?” She enquire, but her inquiry went unanswered. She dreaded going into the pitch-black woods by herself. Anyone who had walked into the woods after nightfall would have been horrified. Selena felt a powerful air suddenly sweep across her, making her fill chilled. She wrapped her arms as she continued walking. Will it rain? she wondered. The moon began to be covered by clouds, making the scene as black as possible. Selena kept moving ahead, holding her breath, hoping that nothing would emerge out of the under-world to hurt her. As she continued going, she saw a sign board. She had no choice but to point her spotlight towards it. “Stay away. Danger.” It is written on the signboard. Selena came to a stop and spun around. She was moving faster. “This is a bad idea.” She stated. “He is not worth it.” She continued on her way back to where she had started, but it appeared that she had become lost. Selena groaned and looked around, trying to remember where she was when she heard a leaf rustling. “Is that you?” Selena yelled, but no one replied. She shook her head as she attempted to make her way back to Xavier’s house, but this time she heard a snarl. Her phone suddenly fell to the ground. Her breathing became very fast.Selena snapped as she bent down to pick up her phone, and when she finally rose to her knees, she turned to look behind her when she saw the blazing red eyes gazing at her in the darkness. It was a werewolf but she had no idea what it was. It appeared to be a strange beast to Selena because of how huge it was. The magnificent, full, white moon started to turn red as the cloud that had been obstructing it started to fade away. The rattling continued, the sniffing increased frequently, and suddenly a growl could be heard once again. She was visible to the wolf hidden in the underbrush from a distance. It was able to see everything clearly, hear her heartbeat speeding, and hear the loud crackling sound of her feet on the leaves as she moved backwards. The wolf’s voice was enraged. It eventually revealed itself to her after emerging from the leaves with a very angry demeanor. Now that she could properly see it. Although it was large and black, she only noticed it because of the red color of its dazzling eyes. He seems ready to slaughter his next human victim with a vengeance. The wolf crept up on her and hissed. It has hated people and will continue to despise people. Its victims wouldn’t be limited to the girl in front of it. It had already killed one of the hunters, so it was aware that there were still several around. Because of this, the wolf would continue to murder individuals until it could lure the hunters out of hiding. It rushed and growled as it made an effort to catch Selena. It likes it when humans beg. It always likes it whenever they do, and as a consequence, it gets more eager to devour them.Selena gasped as it moved nearer to her. She seemed to have only just realized what was going to happen. Her eyes became wider. She turned around and started to flee as quickly as her legs would allow her, but the beast was stronger and faster, and she soon found herself on the ground whining in pain. She hit the side of her back on the ground after being pushed off to the other side of the woods by it using its side body. She sighed. What the fuck was that? She questioned, as she struggled to get up. “Did it possibly eat the boy she was looking for in the woods?” Her left arm was bruised, and she experienced a sting on the side of her tummy. When she raised her head to look at it, her phone was over where the beast was standing, and it was gazing at her. She was in a lot of pain. She had never felt such pain before, not even at her father’s death. She was looking into the dangerous red eyes that were staring back at her. After grasping she was in danger, she had just one thought. Was she going to die? But she couldn’t get away. She could get up and run away but it would find her and kill her. She would die in either situation, laying or standing to run. She burst into tears. She was terrified that the thing would devour her completely. She had never dreamed her death would occur in this manner in her entire life. “You never know how you will die.” Selena clung to those statements with tenacity throughout her childhood. She had wished for the type of death in which she would fall asleep and never wake up. The peaceful form. Her stomach felt like it was being pierced by a pair of razor-sharp teeth right away. “No, please let me go!” Selena cried and struggled to escape, but it was useless. She was powerless to get away from the beast. As it continued to eat, she was pulled back to it. She was its victim. The wolf was enraged. Selena could see by the red eyes that it was angry with her. Was she truly going to die? Will she be able to see her father again? Was she feeling this way because she went to a party just after her father’s funeral? Is this her final day on the earth? She kept questioning herself. The beast’s jaws were tearing her flesh to shreds. She could feel tears stream down her cheek. She was numbed, but was still in pain. It’s the feeling of not knowing what you’re experiencing. Her hands quiver. They couldn’t move because they were trembling and still. You know the feeling you get when you realize it’s almost time to die? That was exactly how she felt. Selena suddenly felt her hand become moist. The wetness was heavy. It was as sticky as blood. Her very own blood. Her hand was stained with her own blood. “Please... just let me go.” Her voice was so weak that the beast couldn’t understand what she was saying. It couldn’t let her live. After all, it was a beast. They prey on humans and torment them. Selena had clung to the chance of survival even as her voice continued to tremble. She could feel its teeth cutting deeper into her flesh with each passing second, and if it continued to eat her, she would die. When her phone began to ring, the red eyes’ attention instantly changed from her to it. Would she call her situation “fortunate” because her phone rang? The ringtone on her phone became increasingly frenzied, and the beast began to snarl. Selena had no idea that such a thing existed in today’s society. A monster? She was a bright student who had no idea there were creatures. To her, it was all a myth. Were there more of them around? The beast withdrew its sharp teeth from Selena’s flesh because the sound from her phone was bothering it and too loud for it to tolerate. Even as she breathed in relief, she could feel her tummy bleed more persistently. She was losing so much blood that the cold penetrated throughout her entire body. The beast lowered its head toward Selena once more, but this time its crimson gaze focused on her almost-ripped stomach rather than her eyes. Was it going to keep eating her? At this time, Selena gave up. She clinched her hand and closed her eyes firmly. She thought she was doomed, but to her surprise she could no longer feel the teeth.Selena eventually flipped her eyes open after a time and observed what the beast was doing. It was sniffling her. After all, it does have a heart.CHAPTER 7ALPHA’S MATE. The beast turned to face her, and she could see the creature’s red eyes looking into hers. The beast leapt from her side and sat down the instant she heard a steady, quiet roar. Why was it gazing at her so strangely? Could it read her mind? She was perplexed. Titus realized that enticing his prey was the only way he could catch it. He’d just gone to the party for that purpose. He was fully aware of his attraction, and enticing ladies into the woods with him so he could devour them had always worked in his favor. There was no exemption for the girl he met at the party. She fell in love with him at first sight, and he could even feel her heartbeat as he caught her in his arms. She would be too simple and sweet to eat. He couldn’t deny that she was beautiful. Titus needed to quit deluding himself about her being the most beautiful person he had ever seen or was about to devour. She was going to be his meal, no matter how gorgeous she was. He stood there watch
CHAPTER 8WONDERS SHALL NEVER ENDAfter changing his clothes, he returned to the Storm Wielder community. “Alpha.” Tyler approached Titus while holding a long robe when he noticed him. “How did the haunting go?” Tyler encircled Titus’s body in clothing as he walked alongside him. Titus frowned. “It wasn’t much fun.” He nearly killed his mate by biting her to death, but he couldn’t tell his best friend. Where would he start? If he revealed that their future Luna was a human, no wolves would be happy. “I made a note. You have no human remains or blood on you. What happened outside? You always bring a piece back with you and hang it in the public square as a reminder of your hatred for humans every time you leave for your haunt.”Titus sighed as he entered the mansion. “I finally got it,” Tyler said. “It’s the red moon. Anyone you bite will be forced to transform into one of us, even if they don’t want to.”Tyler was correct, and if Titus hadn’t been so evil, he would have realized t
CHAPTER 9MYSTERIOUS CONFIDENCEIsabel was known to her father’s relatives before her father married her mother. An alcoholic addict.Selena turned to face Isabel, her head held high. “Shouldn’t I be happy?” Isn’t that what everyone hoped for? To watch Selena so happy?”Isabel gave a nod. “Indeed, Darling. That is something that everyone desires. Everyone wishes you happiness, but I am concerned for you. You left yesterday and did not respond to our calls.” Selena grinned as she chewed her food. “You should not be concerned. “I’m fine.” “No, you are not!” Jade shouted as she looked at Selena.Selena began to laugh. “What exactly is your problem?” I’m okay. Jade.” “Will you then disregard what happened last night?” When you were late returning home due to the blood mom, I, and Hania saw?” Jade tried hard not to cry, but she couldn’t stop herself. Selena could see the tears flowing down Jade’s cheeks as she sobbed. “Selena, what happened to you?” Were you injured? Is this related to
CHAPTER 10SELENA’S WOLFSelena’s attention was drawn away from her friends and toward Xavier, who was grinning and standing in front of her locker. “That’s another story for another time.” I need to get somewhere before the first period.” She told her friends and then walked to her locker. She tried hard to hide her upset feelings from the last night.Dalett and Trisha rolled their eyes as they waited a few centimeters away from her.“I’m growing sick of it. They haven’t had sex, but she has always loved Xavier,” Dalett explained. Trisha responded, her gaze fixed on Selena. “That’s disgusting, Dalett. Nobody wants their first sexual encounter to be void of romance. Then Dalett and Trisha locked gazes. “Oops, except for you, I guess.” Dalett leaned closer and muttered something. “That was just one time, and it was on the day of Xavier’s win-win football party, near the dumpster.”“That was only yesterday, Dalett.” Trisha commented. “That was the best sex I have ever had in my entir
CHAPTER 11AN ENEMY WITHINIt was weird. Selena pondered. She is only now starting to experience discomfort. If she was bleeding, it shows she was unaware she was injuring herself. Selena untied her ponytail, allowing her hair to fall down her back and cover up her blood. She returned her attention to the board and murmured, “I am fine, Dalett,” attempting to keep her focus. She put her hand back to her ear to check for bleeding, but when she raised her hand to her face, she found none. She had felt the blood when Dalett informed her, but she couldn’t see any now. Is it now able to recover on its own?Selena noticed something strange-smelling emanating around her after taking an immense breath. It had a strong scent of pine and fine garden soil. She hurriedly covered her nose with her palm and peered over her shoulder to identify the source of the smell. She observed a young lady with black hair and fair complexion. Max!Her golden eyes was also kept on Selena. It was evident t
CHAPTER 12AN ALPHA WILL LOSE HIS DEVIL“Alpha, tell your wolf to calm down. “I’m just here to talk.” Alexander lifted and focused his attention on the statue. “I really wish they were still here.” After Titus’s parents died, Alexander and Max left the mansion and have been living with his uncle Theodore ever since. “Me too.” Titus shifted his gaze to Alexander. “Do you want to come inside? It’s also your home, and I’m still perplexed as to why you two decided to go.”Alexander smiled. “You turned a blind eye to my sister’s feelings for you,” he added, his gaze locked on the old Alpha and Luna statues. “What exactly are you talking about, Alexander?” Titus’s eyes narrowed as he focused on Alexander. The Devil was also enraged. Titus was baffled by what Alexander was saying. “Since we were kids. Max has always loved you, and we left the mansion because I couldn’t bear the thought of her suffering if she told you how she felt and you rejected her.’ “Love?” Titus was perplexed. “Tha
CHAPTER 13A LITTLE RELIEVESelena moved into the passenger seat as Dalett smiled at Trisha. Dalett climbed into the rear seat while Trisha opened the car door and sat in the driver’s seat. “Where exactly are we going?” Selena interrogated them. “You’ll know when we get there,” Trisha and Dalett agreed. Trisha came to stop in front of a large edifice after traveling for miles. “Girls, we’ve arrived. Prepare your dancing shoes.” Trisha took the car key out of the ignition and took the fake ID card from her backpack. “Dalett, please collect your ID card.” She went on to say.Selena’s attention was drawn to the structure. Her smile brightened her face. For the first time, she want to be a wicked girl. She wanted to drink and party without worrying about examinations or grades. “At last!” she said. “Girls, let’s get moving.” Trisha stated.“Selena doesn’t have any identity. How would she be permitted entry?”“She doesn’t need an ID card, Dalett. She already has an ID card.” “But, I
CHAPTER 14LET’S HAVE SEXSelena appeared to have changed since the last time he saw her. She didn’t resemble the lovely nerd he’d bitten the night before; she was older, wiser, and more experienced this time. He grinned as he watched her and her friends dance. As she spoke to them, he could hear her words. Her friends were taken aback by the changes she had encountered. ‘Was it his bite that caused her transformation? Has she already begun to turn?’ He thought to himself. She didn’t look to be dead in his eyes, indicating that she would soon transform into a Theta. Titus remained there watching as Selena walked toward the crowd and started rocking to the music. Because of the way her body was poised on the pole, he could tell she was about to tumble. If something happened to her, it would have an effect on him as well. He couldn’t break their bond unless both of them agreed, because they were inextricably linked.Titus had anticipated that she would land on the wrong foot, and he
