An Unexpected Rescue

Perhaps I am the most unlucky person in the world...

"Father, mother, please tell me what I should do? Do I still have a chance to continue living and see you again?"

In her half-conscious state, a loop of thoughts continuously tormented Danielle. Tears streamed down, seeping into her wounds, making her feel as if insects were stinging her. The waves crashing against the ship made her dizzy and nauseous, her body covered in scratches, her clothes torn apart by nails. Beside her, sobbing could occasionally be heard, other girls in the same situation were also tied to pillars. This was clearly an illegal human trafficking den. Danielle was exhausted, her hair disheveled, nothing could be more despairing than this moment. Her life might end here.

She did not know what day it was. The sky was pitch black, without a single star, surrounded by seawater on all sides, the wind blowing fiercely, cold to the bone. They had locked Danielle in the basement of a large ship. On the outside, the ship disguised itself as an import cargo vessel, but at night, it secretly transported people to be sold to neighboring countries, especially places lacking women, at extremely high prices. Before handing the girls over to customers, the thugs would violate them first. They called it a “commission procedure,” a way to reward themselves and satisfy their sexual desires.

Philip, the leader of this group of scum, had taken a liking to Danielle. Even though she was filthy and disheveled, experienced men could still tell she was the highest-quality “merchandise,” the most beautiful.

They entered, threatening and teasing the girls, making them scream loudly. Philip swallowed greedily, sat down in front of Danielle, and could not stop exclaiming.

“I never thought I would live to taste the daughter of the Angelina family!”

“What about the Angelina family, boss?” one of them scratched his head and asked.

“Idiot! Before they went bankrupt, they were one of the top ten richest families in this city. They only have one daughter, and that is her. Look at her face, even after having been married once, she is still more beautiful than ordinary girls.”

The underlings stared at Danielle. The more they looked, the more beautiful she seemed. Danielle had plump rosy lips, porcelain-white skin, and long legs like a model.

“That Tino guy really did not know how to enjoy his luck, having such a beautiful wife.”

“Then tonight we must throw a party!”

Just as the fat man was about to touch Danielle’s hair, he suddenly received a call from his superior. The ringing forced him to answer.

As soon as he picked up, a loud shout came from the other side:

“Hey, do not touch the Angelina girl, got it… do you hear me? Do not lay a hand on her!”

The fat man immediately withdrew his hand and moved to a corner to take the call. He asked in dissatisfaction, “What is it, boss? Did you not say all these women were for the brothers to enjoy before selling them?”

“Idiot! Someone has already paid to buy her! A super VIP client. They demanded that she must not be damaged in any way.”

“But she is not a virgin…”

The boss roared angrily:

“But she still has a mouth. If she says anything to the client, we are dead. Dead in the literal sense! This client has a terrible temper, I am not joking. If you disobey me and cause trouble, I will throw your whole family into the sea. Do you understand?”

“Yes, yes, understood!”

The thugs lost their excitement after being scolded. They gradually left. Before leaving, the fat man still licked his lips, looking at Danielle with regret. He did not know why that VIP client knew Danielle was on the ship, causing him to miss the chance to sleep with her.

An hour later, the ship docked. Strangely, there was no one at the harbor except a group of men in black. They handed the traffickers a briefcase full of freshly printed money. The ship owner opened it to check and was immediately overwhelmed by the rich smell of cash. They dragged Danielle like a prehistoric slave and respectfully handed her over to the men in black.

Danielle had no strength left to resist, whoever she fell into the hands of, she was like a fish on a chopping board.

A man in black, expressionless, cold-faced, over six feet tall, lifted her over his shoulder with one hand and brought her to the door of a large car. The car looked very familiar. It seemed she had seen it somewhere before.

When they pushed her inside and shut the door, the scent of new leather shoes hit her nose. Danielle slowly looked up. Because her left eye had been swollen from the beating, she needed a moment to clearly see the person in front of her.

That arrogant, disdainful demeanor… it was none other than the billionaire Lionel Rick.

He was the VIP client that made the traffickers terrified. Why did he save her? Could it be he had some twisted preference, wanting to personally deal with his debtor?

A stack of photos related to her was thrown to the ground by him. Danielle stared blankly, realizing that all her actions and everyone connected to her had been thoroughly investigated.

“The only daughter of the Angelina family, named Danielle. At nineteen, married her high school classmate Tino Frank. After ten years of marriage, treated like an unpaid high-class maid by her in-laws, unable to have children. Lionel Rick bent down, lifted her chin, and continued.
