Tina shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "Well, that was in the past. I'm with someone else now. But that doesn't mean I won't protect Alex from someone like you."

Britany could feel the anger boiling inside her. She was not going to let them talk about her like this.

"You know what? I don't need your protection, Tina. And Mrs. Johnson, I don't need your approval. Alex and I love each other, and that's all that matters," Britany said, her voice shaking with anger.

My mom sighed. "Britany, if you really love Alex, you would leave him alone. You're just going to hurt him again."

Britany couldn't believe what she was hearing. How could they not see how much she loved me?

"I'm not leaving Alex. I love him, and I'm going to fight for us," Britany replied firmly, her eyes blazing with determination.

My mom and Tina stood up to leave, but not before Tina gave Britany one last warning.

"Fine. But don't say we didn't warn you," Tina said, her eyes narrowed.
