The Visitor

Maia found herself in a fancy cafe together with Renata. They are now sitting at a table near the door and the big glass window, eating ice cream, cakes, and pasta. The curly girl ordered a lot of food for them because she insisted that Oakley pushed them away to starve in hunger.

“I don’t hate Rehan and Oak, but sometimes that two brats are really pissing me off,” Renata grunted.

“I thought that since you three are childhood best friends, you now learned how to handle them,” Maia implied.

Renata sneered. “Ooh, how I wish I know how to do that. They are a bunch of prideful and boastful jerks.”

Maia giggled. “I know.”

The two continue eating their food until they’re satisfied. After a couple of minutes, they went to different shops, boutiques, and cafes to spend their time together. They only go back to the pack house when the sun is about to set on the horizon.

Where have you been?"

An angry looking Alpha welcomed them right after they opened the door. Oakley is staring at them darkly with his tightened jaw and terrifying aura.

“What?” Renata grunted, not minding on how scary the Alpha was.

“Where have you been?” Oakley asked Maia, ignoring his childhood best friend.

Maia sighed. “We eat and roamed around your town, but don’t worry, I didn’t do anything that can ruin your perfect image.”

Probably because of being tired, she bravely ignored the Alpha and pulled Renata inside the pack house. They went to her room, not minding their surroundings and all of the stares. Maia closed the door behind her when they reached her den while the curly lady went straight to her comfy bed.

“Don’t mind him. He probably has a bad day,” Renata said.

Maia nodded and jumped up on the bed beside her. “I don’t like him.”

“Why?” the lady wolf asked.

She shrugged. “He is far from the guy that I want.

The curly girl frowned. "Why? What are the characteristics of the man you like?"

Maia shrugged. "A man that is not like my father."

"You despise your parent don't you?" Renata guessed.

She nodded. "They are controlling me ever since I was born. And I'm still living in their shadows."

"I guess I'm lucky to have a wonderful parent after all," the she-wolf mumbled.

Renata only spent a few minutes in her room because the curly hair wolf said goodbye to go to her own room to rest. Meanwhile, Maia can't feel sleepy because her sanity is still very much alive. There were things running through her mind that were preventing her from resting. She is thinking about the possibilities and changes that might happen in her life now that she's really staying in Havoc Moon under the rude Alpha Oakley. She is used to chaotic and strict supervision because of her parents, but it's a lot more different if the one who is watching over her is a powerful wolf.

The next morning, Maia woke up late because she hadn’t fallen asleep right away last night. She quickly adjusted herself to do her morning routine. She then went out of her room to look for Renata, but she had reached the living room and she had not yet found the curly woman. Instead of seeing her new friend, she found was the scary Alpha.

"Looking for the messy hair wolf? She's not here. I send Renata and Rehan to a mission," Oakley informed.

"She told me nothing about that matter," she insisted.

"Why? Can you do anything if she told you? Will you stop her and ruin our plans? You were sent here to be a spy, right?" the Alpha growled.

She shook her head. "No. I just want to see her before she went on the mission. I consider her as a friend already!"

Maia glared at the feral leader of the pack, but the latter didn't bother to talk back at her. Oakley walked passed through her and leave her alone in the living room. She sighed and was about to sit down when two servants approached her.

"Your breakfast is ready, Miss. Lumayag," the girl with a headband said.

"It's in the dining area, Miss," the other one added.

Maia didn't have any other choice but to follow the two she-wolves to the dining room. She breathed in relief when she found nothing except from the maids in the area. She didn't want to eat together with the Alpha.

When she came out of the dining area, she was surprised to see the helpers and the guards pacing back and forth in the hallway. Fear and nervousness can be seen on their faces. As curiosity spread in her spine, she followed the flow of the servants that lead her to the living room. Then she peeked in the doorway and was shocked to see the queen. She immediately turned around and was about to run, but she bumped into the hard and muscled body of the Alpha.

"What are you doing here?" Oakley growled.

"I-I was just passing by," she stuttered.

"Go to your room and don't you dare come out again," the Alpha grunted.

"Hey, there."

The two stiffened when they heard the voice. Maia turned around to face the owner of the voice. Her eyes widened when she saw the charming and beautiful queen a few steps from her. And at his fast pace, Oakley walked toward the white-haired girl.

"My queen, let's go back to the living room," the Alpha said.

"She can join us," the woman replied.

Maia shook her head. "P-Pardon, my queen. I-I am just passing by. Sorry to interrupt you."

The beautiful queen smiled. "You will reject the queen?"

She harshly shook her head again. "N-No, my queen."

"Great! Let's go," the woman giggled.

Maia didn't have any other choice but to follow the queen and the angry Alpha. They went inside the living room and sat on the couches. She can feel the air around her become heavy and hard. The awkwardness in the room grow as she shyly played with her fingers on her lap.

"So, I heard that the most feared Alpha was already engaged. May the moon goddess bless your relationship," the queen smiled.

Maia didn't know what to say and how she would react to that words. She was afraid that when she open her mouth and talk, the Alpha might scold and punish her. So she remained silent.

"Hey, I know that the lovely half blooded wolf here is your mate, Alpha Oakley. So, stop hiding and denying it, okay?" the queen smiled.

"We're sorry, my queen," the Alpha said.

"S-Sorry, my highness," she mumbled.

The gorgeous looking queen clapped her hands and smiled. "Splendid! I will arrange everything for your wedding."

Oakley cleared his throat. "Please, my queen. I just want our nuptials to be private. A simple signing of the papers will do. No need for a public party."

"Okay. I understand," the queen answered.

Maia remained silent, sitting anxiously on the farthest couch. She was just smiling at the queen when their eyes met and when the highness looked at her. But when the Alpha glared at her, she bravely rolled her eyes at him, then quickly looked away.

Fortunately, servants entered with trays in their hands. She used that opportunity to escape. Maia quickly excuses herself and runs out of the room, not waiting for their responses. She went to her room and locked the door behind her.

"We are going to be married soon," she mumbled.

Maia was feeling horrified and hurt. Her father was really serious about merging their packs and used her as a tool to strengthen them. She feels like a piece of trash that was easy to dump and abandoned.

She sighed and jumped up on her bed. Then lean on the headboard of the bed and took the book from her bedside table. She opened it and started reading.

Almost an hour later, she got bored and went out of her room. She walked along the long corridors while looking at the pictures and furniture. Then she remembered what Renata told her that the pack house had an enormous library. The curly wolf told her about the room being crowded with dust and spiderwebs, for the wolves in their pack are not fans of reading.

Being a bookworm, Maia looked for the library on her own. She silently and quickly peeking every door on the west wing of the pack house. Until she stopped at the last door in the farthest and last hallway. And without any hesitation, she opened the wooden double door.

"Holy f*ck," she mumbled.

Renata is a liar. A clean, shiny floor and dust free room of books welcomed her. She had her own library in her father's pack house, but not as big as this. She feels like she was in a fairytale world where there is a royal palace and she is the princess. As excitement eats her entire system, he stormed between shelves, looking for books to read.

Maia was in the middle of picking up her books when she heard the door being open. She quickly walked into the darkest part of the library on the last shelves to hide herself.

"I miss you, handsome," said by a woman.

"What are you doing here, Kimia? What if someone caught us?" said by a man.

Maia put her hands in her mouth to stop herself from making noises. She knew who the man was, and she was very sure that he was the Alpha. Her heart stung a bit when she confirmed that it was really Oakley, her mate. The fact that he was cheating behind her back makes her cry. Even though she knew that there was nothing between them, Oakley must still respect her because she was her mate. And mate means they are meant to be forever.

"You didn't want me here?" the girl sounds lonely and disappointed.

"No. Of course, I want you to be here. I am just worried about you and our reputation," the Alpha replied.

"Don't worry about that, my love. Our secrets are safe," the girl giggled.

"So, what are we going to do here?" Oakley asked.

"First, you need to kiss me. Second, you will going to undress me and lastly, bang me hard," the girl flirted.

"D*mn. Come here," the Alpha growled.

Maia didn't have any other choice but to stay in where she was and listened to them. She can't just let herself come out and waved at them while saying sorry. She was so sure that the great Alpha will be angry at her and the worst, he might put her in a cellar to make her suffer.

She can hear their moans, making her chest tighten. She cried even more, when she heard the sound of a table. Maia forces herself to keep quiet, controlling her sobs and breathing.

"Ooh, Oakley! Yes! More!" moaned by the girl.

She can't recognize the girl's voice. Maybe she came from the families of the other great ambassadors. Thinking about that is making her feel terrified. She is the only daughter of the third rank Alpha and the only difference between her from the others was she's not a pure blooded wolf. Then, the reality slapped her hard when the answer popped out of her head. She is just a half human and mortals are the lowest creature based on their own beliefs.

So, he doesn't like me because of my bloodline and origin.

"D*mn! F*ck! F*ck! F*ck!" the Alpha exclaimed.

Oakley doesn't like me because I'm just a trash. He is a monster just like my parent.

"F*ck me hard, my Alpha. Ooh," the girl moaned.

I am just a tool for them to gain more power and wealth.

"I'm near, Kimia. D*mn it!" Oakley yelled.

Maia slowly and carefully sat on the cold floor. Then she moved towards the wall and crouched down, hugging her knees. She closed her ears, mentally, imagining and thinking that she can't hear anything. She even sang a melody to divert her attention as the two screamed in ecstasy.

Because of the tiredness from crying, Maia was not aware that she had fallen asleep. It was almost three in the afternoon when she woke up. She quickly stood up and fixed herself. Then she took the books that she picked earlier and went out of the library, straight to her room. She was hungry, but she didn't want to eat and see her monster mate. So, she just put her full attention on the books she got from the library.

Having a strict and controlling parent is hard. It is as if you are confined and chained in a small cell where, in every move, someone was there, ready to attack. From her childhood until now, Maia has not been able to escape from that cell. She is still haunted by her painful and bad memories of the past every night. As a result, she can do nothing for herself now. Even if she wants to leave and run away from her mate, it is very impossible to happen. Even if she can, she is sure that he will catch her as well. Alpha Oakley is so powerful and has so many allies, that she can't get away with.

She was startled when the door spring open and her angry mate entered. She closed the book that she was holding and covered the others with her blanket.

"What are you doing?" Oakley grunted.

"R-Reading," she mumbled.

"Can you read time? Maybe you’re stupid and don’t know what lunch time is. What do you think, what time is it?" the Alpha growled.

She looked away. "I-It's five in the afternoon."

"Do you want me to take care of you? Do I need to leave the guest just for you? D*mn. Why? Who do you think you are, huh? Not because the queen told you that she will prepare everything for our wedding, you can hope and act like that," Oakley yelled.

Maia can feel the anger and hatred from the Alpha's voice and glares. She even flinched at every painful word he said.

"Don't you ever do this again."

Maia's tears fall down to her cheeks after Oakley stormed out of the room. After a few minutes, two servants entered holding trays. They put and prepare the food on the table carefully and then leave when it's done.

She felt horrible. Maia get off of her bed and went to the bathroom. She washed her face with cold water, then went out and sat on the couch. The food on the table is delicious, but after what Oakley did, she lost her appetite. She just took a plate of bread and brought it to the balcony. She went back inside and took the book she was reading earlier and then went back to the balcony again.

Maia could no longer focus on reading because her tears suddenly flowed again. She was just looking at nowhere as Oakley's words repeatedly played on her brain. Who is she to take care of? She's just a pile of rubbish. No. A robot that needs someone to dictate and command to act.

Renata.

This time, she needs someone to talk to but her new found friend was not around. Renata has a mission, and she understands that the curly wolf needs to do that for the sake of the whole pack. But, her thoughts are now corrupted, making her think that Oakley planned everything to make her life miserable. The Alpha sends Renata to the faraway place so that no one will going to help her.

Maybe. He is an evil wolf. He probably planned that for me to suffer.

Maia shook her head and dried her cheeks. Then she took a bite of the sandwich and opened her book to her previous page. She was trying to wash away all of her negative ideas by focusing on reading a novel. She needs to be strong and move forward.

After several minutes, she stopped on reading and stood up. She does some stretching and breathing exercises to calm and relax herself. Then, she decided to go to the bathroom to take a bath. She opened the shower and moved under the cold water. The satisfying chill that the water can do to her helped her to bring back her sanity and cleared her mind.

When Maia goes out of the bathroom, the trays of food are already gone. She sighed and sat in front of her vanity mirror. Then, she started putting lotion and moisturizer in her body when the door sprung open gain and the Alpha entered.

Maia was startled to see Oakley was shocked. Then, she remembered that she was putting some lotion on her body so her bathrobe was unbuttoned. She quickly stood up and turned her back on him.

"W-What?" she mumbled.

The Alpha cleared his throat. "You need to be in your best formal attire tomorrow. We are going to sign the contract for our binding."

"O-Okay," she replied.

"It's nine in the morning at the Queen's palace. We are going to leave here at seven o'clock," Oakley added.

"Understood," she answered.

Maia sighed in relief when she heard the door closed. She quickly went to her walk-in closet to get into her sleepwear. Then she climbed up in her bed and tucked herself under her blanket.

Tomorrow.

She closed her eyes as tears started to fall down again. They will be a real couple tomorrow. This means that she really has no hope of escaping. She fears that something worse will happen or that she will experience more terrible things once their marriage is approved. She is afraid of her own mate.

Ooh, moon goddess. Please guard and guide me.
