The dusk was fast approaching.
On the red campfire, the stewed seafood soup was steaming, filled with clams, conch, and a fat crab.
"Ready!"
Ethan Brooks stirred the soup, then speared the eye-pierced keg with a tree branch. Naturally, the soup was not to be wasted, and Luna secured a couple of coconut bowls to the sand as Ethan Brooks poured it all into the bowls and finally poured the seafood onto a braided coconut leaf. Looking at the seafood in front of them, Ethan Brooks and Luna looked at each other with some excitement.
They had been starving since yesterday, except for the coconut milk and a bit of coconut meat.
"Let's start!" Ethan Brooks was the first to pick up a conch and pick it out with a twig. The first bite was yummy!
More than coconut, at least this is real meat, soft and sticky with a light salty flavor as soon as it hits the mouth! The second bite was fishy! Naturally, the conch isn't all meat, and when there were bites, the fishy flavor mixed with the sand in the mouth in a way that made Ethan Brooks almost throw up.
Luna peeled open the clams and saw the look on Ethan Brooks' face, pursed her lips, and snickered, handing Ethan Brooks the clams in her hand.
"help yourself. And, we'll need to find a way to get a little salt."
Ethan Brooks cleaned the conch in his hand, glanced at the nooks, and then at the jungle not far away. "I'm going to need a knife, I can't cut the wood without one, and this little shack of ours won't hold if there's a real storm."
Looking at Ethan Brooks in thought, Luna slowly put down the clams in her hand and blinked at Ethan Brooks with wide eyes.
"What's wrong with you?"
Luna took her "self-defense" weapon out of her pocket and seemed to be hesitant to give it to Ethan Brooks. Ethan Brooks giggled. "You might as well keep it, it's the last weapon you have. What if I turn out to be the bad guy after holding your weapon?" Luna slanted a glance at Ethan Brooks as if she knew it was a joke. After all, Ethan Brooks would have plenty of opportunities to turn on her if he wanted to.
But Luna still handed it over with her hand. Ethan Brooks didn't say no and took it and examined it by the light of the fire. When he checked the back of the claw which was round and clumsy but it had a sharp edge underneath!
Ethan Brooks scraped it with his finger, the edge was thin but tough, and while the blade wasn't long enough to be considered a pocket knife. Turning around, he chipped at the wood on the side of the hut behind him, easily chipping off a small piece of woodchip.
"Where did you find this? What beast's paw is this? "
Luna shook her head in bewilderment, pointed a finger at her head, and gestured with the fingers of both hands on her head.
"You think it's horns?"
Luna nodded.
Ethan Brooks shook his head. He didn't think it was horns, but if this was the claws of something, these
claws could tear him apart with a slap. It was more than twice the size of a bear's fingernails.
"Thanks, this is useful."
Ethan Brooks planted his paw in the doorframe of his cabin and proceeded to enjoy the very cobbled-together seafood meal. Luna was considerate. She only had one crab pincer for the large crab and expressed to Ethan Brooks that he should take the bigger part because he is the main hand. Ethan Brooks' heart warmed. Especially when she smiles softly, it reminds Ethan Brooks of a girl in his memory for three years. After supper, and darkness falling, they assigned the jobs that each should get up once in the night to keep the fire. Then both went into their little nests.
It was a clear, starry night with no rain, and the cool moonlight on the beach was so beautiful that Ethan Brooks could see it from the opening of his nook as he lay there.
After returning home, will he or she ever see the night like this again?
Ethan Brooks always got a sore nose when he thought of the woman in his memory, and it was amazing
how out of touch he still was since the breakup.
The night stopped being beautiful and instead became a torment that left him tossing and turning, wanting nothing more than to get to dawn faster.
A few small thuds reached his ears, even though the sound of the waves couldn't be muffled, indicating that the sound was close by. In a haze, Ethan Brooks awoke with a jerk of his body.
It was the sound of firewood crashing into each other, interspersed with a continuous rustle that was beginning to bit loud.
"Luna, is that you ?" Ethan Brooks shouted.
Unexpectedly, the voices outside came to a screeching halt. The sudden silence made Ethan Brooks'
heart skips a beat. This certainly wasn't Luna! The light of the fire outside was already very faint. Ethan Brooks slowly clenched the animal claw in his hand. He inclined his head and peered out of the nook. In the darkness, He could only see two eyes like green lights. The eye was looking at him when he looked over, and the four eyes met, after a moment, a beastly roar rang out abruptly as it bore down on the litter.
"Gzees!"
Ethan Brooks felt like he was going to explode. Luckily, the roof of the den was only strapped to the top, and Ethan Brooks scurried right out through the roof. The small nest was instantly destroyed by the crash, the beast sank deep into it, and after shaking violently twice, the small nest completely fell apart.
Luna also climbed out of the small nest at this time, scared out of her wits, and wanted to run in the direction of the coconut grove, but her feet panicked and fell to the ground. Ethan Brooks rolled a few paces, grabbed a stick from the fire, and was about to run into the jungle, but the darkness of the jungle out of reach dissuaded him again.
He turned back around: The beast let out two low growls and bursted out. With its arched back, tusks, and bristles like steel needles, it was a boar!
At this time, Luna just climbed up from the ground, the boar immediately like a formidable enemy looking at this "suddenly taller" creature. The atmosphere froze in a flash. Luna also didn't expect the boar to target her and froze in place for a moment.
In the past, he would think the boar seemed to be far less dangerous than the tigers and leopards. However, when it shows up on the island, it is so violent with its fangs and brutal eyes that it sends shivers down the spine.
Run?
Ethan Brooks just wanted to get the hell out of there and the boar wasn't even paying attention. it was staring at the mute girl, and he had every chance of escaping while the boar was attacking the mute girl.
Go.
The sanity that wanted to escape was like a wild bison running wild, but this bison was pulled back by dignity as slender as a spider's silk.
It's okay to run but in front of a mute girl?
During the day Luna's every move, look, and smile, were all vivid in his mind. Up to now, Luna hadn't even looked at him. There were no cries for help, no running towards him for shelter, not even a glance this way.
Ethan Brooks wished that Luna's crying and screaming had rushed toward him, shouting, "Help me, help me!" In that case, He probably wouldn't have hesitated to leave her behind. But now, abandoning such a girl to her face, Ethan Brooks couldn't do it. She moved! Luna moved her trembling legs and took a step backward of her own accord, backing up in the direction of the coconut grove as she turned her head to look at him. Ethan Brooks couldn't see her eyes, but by the light of the fire, Ethan Brooks could see a drop of crystal, slipping quietly from the corner of Luna's eye.
What's she up to?
Ethan Brooks was startled.
But the moment she moved her eyes away, the boar moved! An angry roar rang out, and the boar's aura steeply went berserk, charging towards Luna, unstoppable between the mud and sand being thrown around! When Luna saw the boar rushing towards her, her body suddenly gave a jolt and froze straight in place, her eyes staring round, obviously stunned!
"RUN!" Ethan Brooks roared wildly and charged at Luna as well.
Just as the boar was about to crash into Luna. Boo!
Luna suddenly felt a huge force that knocked her sideways. And all Ethan Brooks felt was a maddening force slamming into his calves, instantly toppling him over, his body jerking half around in the air, his back slamming into the ground with a loud thud, and his brain buzzing with shock, while the boar darted into
the thicket of forest disappeared.
Seconds later, Ethan Brooks was picked up on his upper body by Luna, but all he could feel was that his leg seemed to have broken, completely, as if someone had broken his bones with an iron vice so hard that it hurt so much that it became difficult to breathe, let alone scream. Large drops of cold sweat practically squeezed out of his pores. Having his head propped up by Luna, Ethan Brooks looked toward his calves.
The pants tore open completely, revealing half of his leg, and at his calf, a huge twenty-centimeter wound, the skin, and flesh turned out, blood gurgling out. His knee, jutting out sideways at an incredible angle, could see the bone dislocated under the skin, bulging into a large bag. Ethan Brooks felt every cell in his entire body trembling.
Luna's tears snapped and fell as she nodded her head desperately hard.
"Help me step my knee back!"
Ethan Brooks said the words and Luna's body plummeted.
Step back?
Ethan Brooks didn't have time to explain to her that the boar had arched his bones the wrong way and that every second was too important for him to force his body a bit. He turned the bulge upward and flattened his legs on the sand.
"Stomp!"
Seeing Luna in a daze, Ethan Brooks bellowed. Luna also realized the seriousness of the situation and stood up shivering. Ethan Brooks reached his hand up to the mismatch, covering it with his entire hand.
"Step on the back of my hand! "Ethan Brooks isn't sure whether it can work, but it's his last chance. There's no hospital on this desert island!
Luna was already in tears, and just as Ethan Brooks was about to yell at her again, Luna gritted her teeth and raised her foot, stomping down on the back of Ethan Brooks's hand!
Ethan Brooks was feeling so disappointed that he now felt like he was about to vomit blood. That was half of the fruit he had saved from Spartans and Black Widows Spider!Standing still, with the cold seawater slapping his face, Ethan Brooks remained desolate for a long time, only to dejectedly walk back. With this half of the fruit gone, to find more fish for experiments, he would have to wait another two days. This experiment was a complete failure.Back at the camp, Luna was feeding the lioness. Now Ethan Brooks did not dare to get close to the lion, because he had no mental connection with it at all and feared it might bite him.But Luna, perhaps due to frequent contact over the past few days, had let down her guard. She not only fed the lioness-dried fish directly with her hand but even dared to reach out and touch the lioness's back.Ethan Brooks looked at the empty ropes hanging on the cabin and felt a surge of anger."A
A comprehensive upgrade is necessary, and it must be planned out. They can't just survive on dew and rainwater, nor can they subsist solely on fish, coconuts, salt, and various vitamins. All kinds of protective gear, weapons, and shelters also need to be upgraded.A simple life cannot be sustained for too long; he doesn't expect a rescue team to arrive tomorrow, so he must survive the day after tomorrow, and the days following.Of course, before all this, Ethan Brooks has another plan in mind: the ocean floor. To be precise, the garbage on the ocean floor.Marine debris, with only a part floating on the surface, accounts for just a fraction. 70% of ocean garbage settles on the seabed, most of which drifts with the currents. In the Pacific Ocean, marine debris covers more than 3.5 million square kilometers, exceeding the land area of India. At least 800,000 tons of garbage enter the ocean every year.Of course, what is considere
Upon hearing the words of Ethan Brooks, Luna Marie turned her head away and closed her eyes, a single tear of anguish trickling down from the corner of her eye.She quickly wiped it away, sniffled, and helped pry open the python's grip on Ethan Brooks. To escape the python's jaws, Ethan Brooks had to push his shoulder further into the mouth of the serpent to free himself from the reverse-serrated fangs, a process that nearly sent him into shock from the intense pain."Ah! Ahhh!"With a thud, Ethan Brooks broke free, his legs numb as he collapsed to the ground, his shoulders riddled with dozens of bloody punctures from which blood oozed slowly.Luna deftly used strips of cloth to bind Ethan Brooks' wounds. In a moment, Ethan Brooks regained his strength, picked up a bamboo spear from the ground, and advanced towards the lioness. The python lay sliced open, its belly revealing the slick body of a lion cub that the lioness had dragged out, now lying quietly on the ground. The lioness, we
The python's flesh was a blur in its abdomen, where a leg hung limply, and it seemed to be a lion's leg. Judging by its size, it should not be from an adult lion but from a cub. Ethan Brooks, fearing that he had not seen clearly, took a closer look and confirmed without a doubt that it was indeed a lion cub's leg. The python's belly was bulging, hidden deep within the coils of its own body, a defensive posture. Upon seeing this, Ethan Brooks was completely shocked. It's important to note that aside from its belly, the python had not sustained injuries anywhere else, while the lion was covered in wounds. Under normal circumstances, a lion wouldn't be so easily defeated, especially when it was driven to madness. The reason was that the lion wasn't trying to kill the python. Even if it was lashed to a bloody pulp, even if the python had broken its hind legs, even if it knew it was certainly going to die! Its goal was always just one! To tear open the python's belly. Realizing th
In recent days, Ethan Brooks and Luna Marie have been preparing for the upcoming high tide.A tide strong enough to submerge the reefs comes every 15 days, and it has been 12 days since the last one. It's important to understand that they don't have a stable food source right now. The fish dried from the last high tide lasted only seven days, so this time they must catch more and try to keep the fish alive as long as possible, as the satisfaction from eating dried fish and fresh fish is not the same. Moreover, Ethan Brooks has had a strange idea.Maybe he could find a fish and feed it some white fruit to see if it could do something for him in the sea.Although Ethan Brooks has not yet chosen the right fish, this plan has already been scheduled."Ah!"On another cool morning, Ethan Brooks stretched and yawned, shielding his eyes from the glaring sun as he looked over the beach.Luna was always up so early, doing stretching exer
Ethan Brooks was at a loss and could only look to Sparta for help, given that it was he who had brought the spider. Sparta sent a wave of encouragement to Ethan Brooks to continue, and since there was still more than half of the fruit left, it seemed the ants had stopped, intending to feed it all to the spider. Ethan Brooks did not hesitate, using a bamboo stick to pick up the remaining fruit and feed it to the black widow, bite by bite. With every bite, Ethan Brooks could feel the mental connection with the black widow becoming tighter. Soon, it would be strong enough to communicate as he did with Sparta. This, however, made Ethan Brooks feel quite distressed. Sparta and the other ants had shared one fruit among more than two hundred of them, consuming a total of seven fruits over the days. How much had each ant eaten? Yet this black widow had eaten more than half of a fruit by itself, which could have been enough to a
