📜 The Divine Trials: A Forbidden History

💀 The Shattering of the Pantheon

1,000 years ago, the world was ruled not by kings, but by gods.

Thirteen of them reigned, each governing one of the primal forces of creation: flame, time, mind, death, shadow, storm, and more. They were not merciful. They were not kind. They demanded worship, sacrifice, and obedience. Empires rose and fell by divine whim. Mortals lived in fear of the gods' cruelty disguised as justice.

Until one of their own turned against them.

Known only as the Godkiller, they were not born divine, but rose from mortal blood, wielding an unnatural power capable of severing divine essence from existence itself. It's said their blade was forged in betrayal, dipped in godfire, and bound to the screams of a dying star.

In a single, bloody decade, the Pantheon fell, slain, scattered, or sealed.

But gods do not truly die. Their power fractured, splintering across the world like cracks in a mirror. It seeped into the blood of mortals: into warriors, oracles, healers, and kings. Their descendants were born with fragments of divine essence, what we now call the godbloods.

🩸 The Bloodlines Formed

From the death of the gods came thirteen bloodlines, each carrying a shard of divine power:

🌑 The Thirteen Fallen Gods & Their Bloodlines

🌑 The Lost Fourteenth?

Some scholars whisper of a fourteenth bloodline, born of the Godkiller, whose power was neither divine nor mortal, but capable of erasing divinity itself.

No bloodline name.

No sigils.

No records.

Just a prophecy:

"When the stars scream red, and the Trials bleed black, the last heir of the void born blade shall awaken... and gods shall rise again."

🏰 The Creation of Eidolon Academy

After the slaughter, one god remained.

Vaerion, the God of Memory and Echoes, the Keeper of All That Was, refused to die. He saw the broken world and the scattered children of divinity. So he built a fortress between realms, Eidolon Academy, fashioned from memory, magic, and mourning.

But Vaerion did not stay. With the last of his strength, he bound his soul into the very walls, creating a sentient, ever-shifting castle designed to:

Summon godbloods once per century

Protect and train them

And one day... prepare them to reclaim what was lost

🕯️ The Calling

Once every 100 years, a subtle magic ripples across the realms, known as The Calling. Those with slumbering godblood feel the shift:

Dreams of fire or drowning in stars

A mark that appears on their skin

Hearing voices in their heads

Strange talents awakening overnight

Then, the invitation arrives. Always personal. Always undeniable.

No one escapes The Calling. Refusal is not an option. You either arrive at Eidolon Academy... or the power inside you consumes you.

🧠 Life at Eidolon Academy

The academy stands on a fold between worlds, nowhere and everywhere at once. Only the Called can see its towers through the mist.

Inside, students attend four years of preparation:

📚 Magical Theory

🩸 Godblood Lineage Studies

⚔️ Trial Combat & Survival Training

🧭 Relic Navigation & Realmcraft

😈 Moral Temptations and Consequence Alchemy

The castle is sentient. It shifts, whispers, and sometimes moves entire rooms just to fuck with professors. It likes the students. It loves rebellion. If you speak to the walls, they may answer. If you bleed on the stone, it remembers you.

There are entire wings no one's mapped.

Staircases that only appear at midnight.

And a library that watches you back.

🔥 The Divine Trials

Each school year ends with a Trial, a pocket realm conjured from god magic, built to test your essence, your strength, and your soul.

The Trials are sacred. Ancient. Deadly.

You do not "pass" the Trials.

You survive them.

Or you don't.

There are four:

1. Trial of Flame - Pain. Sacrifice. Power.

2. Trial of Bone - Face your ancestors. Or fall like them.

3. Trial of Echoes - Relive your worst truth until it breaks you or frees you.

4. Trial of Ascension - The gods return. You must choose: join them, kill them, or become one.

☠️ THE PROPHECY

Whispers say the Divine Trials are not just to test godbloods, but to awaken the true heir of the Godkiller.

And they have returned.

This time?

The Trials won't end with ascension.

They'll end with a reckoning.

🌕 VIBE:

The Obsidian Accord isn't just a council. It's a regime.

They've outlawed old gods' worship.

They hunt rogue godbloods.

And they've corrupted history itself to hide the truth, that they helped end the gods... and are terrified they might come back.

But Eidolon Academy?

The castle remembers.

And so do the bloodlines.

  • Trial of Flame   #33 Dirty Time Part II

Rowyn POV Kalyx started moving then, in long, punishing thrusts that shook the bed, his hips snapping against mine with wet, obscene sounds that filled the room. Every plunge dragged against my walls, hitting that spot over and over until I was babbling nonsense, my nails raking down his back.Zephyr leaned in, his mouth latching onto my breast again, sucking hard while his fingers found my clit, rubbing in tight circles that made stars explode behind my eyelids. “You’re doing so fucking good,” he whispered, his voice a lifeline amid the storm. “Taking him like a champ. Look at how you’re creaming all over his cock dripping down his balls. Such a good girl for us. Let it build again. We want another one. Milk him dry.”Kalyx’s pace turned feral, his hand wrapping around my throat, not squeezing, just holding, a reminder of who had me pinned and claimed. “That’s it, flame. Scream for me. Tell me how much you love my cock splitting you open. Beg for it harder.”“Harder...please, fuck

  • Trial of Flame   #32 Yes, Both of You!

Rowyn POVWe were walking to dinner when it hit me, that prickling sensation between my shoulder blades like I was being watched. I turned my head slightly and caught movement in the shadows near the south arch.Kalyx’s growl was instant. “That’s Thornhall.”My stomach twisted.“Of course it is,” I muttered, keeping my voice low. “Fucking creeper. He always stares like he's picturing me on a platter.”Aster shuddered. “He gives me fungus vibes. Like mildewy laundry and bad intentions.”Zephyr cracked his knuckles. “He keeps looking at you like that and I’ll introduce him to the sharp end of a storm spear.”We pushed through the dining hall doors, the warm glow of faelights and the smell of roasted meats wrapping around us like a shield. I tried to shake off the weirdness. Not tonight, creepy man. Tonight, I just wanted food and a little peace. We piled our plates sky-high, took over our usual corner table, and smashed that food like it owed us money. Kyren and Aster eventually dipped

  • Trial of Flame   #31 Betrayal & Gaurdians

Aster Aurellan POVMy comm crystal buzzed mid brushstroke. I blinked, frowning as I tucked it against my ear, still clutching my makeup brush in the other hand. “Mother?”Her voice was sharp, and sweetened at the edges like poisoned honey. “Darling. How are you?”Oh gods. That tone. I froze. “I’m… fine. Why?”“No reason,” she cooed. “Just curious how school’s treating you. Settling in well?”I narrowed my eyes. “It’s been intense, but manageable.”“And your… roommate? Friends?” she asked too casually. The brush slipped from my fingers and clattered to the counter.“Are you friends with a girl named Rowyn Vale?”There it was.I swallowed. “Why?”“Just curiosity,” she lied. Badly. “We hear things, you know, through work. And someone like that, well, you know how the noble houses worry about influence. Especially low borns. It’s important to keep an eye on… people.”My blood ran cold.“Your work,” I said slowly, my heart pounding. “You mean your position on the culture council… or someth

  • Trial of Flame   #30 Guardians Awakened

Headmaster Nocturne POVThe note appeared with a soft fwoomp, delivered by Vaerion’s ancient magic, right onto my desk like it owned the damn place.I glanced at the parchment, already sensing the familiar pulse of old god magic woven through its fibers. My eyes skimmed the names.Storin. Glorin. Kiana. Flan.Guardians awakened. The castle was arming itself like a sleeping beast stirred.A low chuckle escaped me as I picked up the glowing ruby and slipped it into the pocket of my robes.“Well, Vaerion,” I murmured to the empty room, “I’d say you’re feeling dramatic today.”I stood and turned toward the covered mirror in the corner of my office, the one I only uncovered when things got particularly serious.Today counted.I yanked the black silk off.“Let the ash speak.”The surface rippled, starlight flickering across the glass, and then a hooded figure appeared. Tharion Duskveil. The Ash. The dead, but not dead living legend. He arched a brow. “What now, Malric?”I lifted the note, w

  • Trial of Flame   #29 Protect Rowyn

Tharion Duskveil POVThe stink of blood and panic clung to the underground stone like mold. Five cowards sat chained before me, bound in chairs etched with ancient runes that stripped away every lie before it left their tongues. They were trembling now, good.I stepped into the circle of wardlight, my shadow spilling across the stone. “You will answer,” I said, my voice calm. “You will not lie. You cannot lie. So save your strength.”Their eyes flicked between me and Malric Nocturne, who stood like a storm brewing at my side, his arms crossed, face carved in stone.I waved a hand, activating the serum already pulsing through their veins. One by one, their bodies stiffened, and truth magic wrapped around their minds like a vice.I asked the question I already knew the answer to.“Who sent you?”The first prisoner twitched. “The High King.”Nocturne cursed under his breath. Of course. Of fucking course.“The king wants the girl.” I tilted my head. “Why?”The second prisoner croaked out

  • Trial of Flame   #28 Stay Safe

Zephyr POVI spotted the clearing before I even touched down, it was bathed in golden light like the forest itself was holding its breath. Rowyn stood at the center, glowing, surrounded by a parade of magical creatures. There were fey deer, a shining stag, shimmering wisps, even a moon sprite, all circling her like she was their queen. And honestly? She kinda fucking was. But there wasn't time to marvel.“Rowyn!” I called, my voice cutting through the calm. She turned instantly, auburn curls whipping in the wind, her green eyes locking on mine with relief, and fear.“We need to go. Now,” I said, striding toward her. “The headmaster has ordered everyone to your room. It’s protected, and warded tighter than a god’s temple. We’re not safe out here anymore.”She nodded softly and turned to the creatures. “Thank you,” she whispered. “Stay hidden. Stay safe.”Aster hugged a deer like a lunatic, while Kyren stroked a fae hound’s shimmering head. They looked like they had stepped out of a woo
