Chapter Twenty Six

Elaina dodged the first burlack beast attack landing painfully on her side.

Cursing herself for not taking her friends warnings more seriously she scrambled off the ground and prepared herself for the next attack.  

Two burlack beasts stood on either side of her.  She used her periphery vision to watch both waiting for their next move.

In front of her Rathial made his way towars Elder Lionel, who had managed to draw a sword out of thin air, odd.  

The burlack beast to her left moved drawing all her attention.  With a quick flick of her wrist she threw her dagger.  It planted itself square in the beasts chest blood gushing out quickly as the creature crumpled to the ground.  

The beast to her left moved to charge beak open a shriek of rage escaping from it.  

Elaina turned fast sweeping her sickle across the beasts face, managing to take out one of its eyes.  It reared back for a moment before lunging f
