Chapter seventy two

Jessica stopped herself from falling to the ground, after which she turned to look at Elena whose head was lowered to the ground.

Elena wasn’t trying to debunk what he had just said and this made her heart sink in misery.

“Is this true?” She muttered under her breath, but quickly shook her head negatively to debunk the thoughts. She wasn’t going to believe what Josh had just said.

“I know that you are saying this because you probably want to get Daniel angry…you don’t have to say that”, Jessica finally said, hoping that her statement was the reason behind his sudden utterance.

She chuckled too, to ease up the tension in the air; but when she realized that she was the only one laughing, she knew that something was wrong.
