“Took you long enough to get here,” I said.

“Sorry, but apparently the witches are still a tad irked with me.” Xindi states.

“Just couldn’t leave well enough alone.” I point out.

“It’s hard to leave well enough alone when you’re a man whore.” Emerald remarks.

This comment makes all of us turn to her. She is sitting there on the floor with the triplets. She isn’t even looking at us. I do see a smirk on her face. Xindi glares at her, but she does speak the truth. Xindi is my cousin and one of my best friends but he is a huge player. He was playing around with the daughter of a powerful warlock. She thought they were serious while he was just having fun. I know he makes it clear to the girls when they first meet, so I have no doubt that this girl thought she could change him. He is going to be in for a real shock when he meets his mate.

“I missed you so much, cousin,” Xindi says to Emerald.

“Of course you did. Everyone misses me.” Emerald states.
