Chapter 29

Emilia’s POV

My eyes fluttered open, the blinding sunlight from the window causing me to close them back. I try once again, slowly this time until my eyes adjust to the light.

The curtains had been drawn already, which meant that Kate was here a few minutes ago.

Liam laid peacefully beside me, snoring lightly his arm wrapped around my small waist as though he was scared I was going to run away.

I stretch my hand to the bedside table, grabbing my phone as I checked the time. It read 8:45am and I put it back, surreptitiously slipping out of Liam’s hold.

I quickly head to the bathroom and take a quick shower, getting ready for the day. By the time I return, Liam was already up but he seemed to be on a call, only it wasn’t his phone but mine.

“I’ll let her know. It’s up to her to decide that.” He says hanging up, his face turning sour as he stared at the phone.

“Hey.” I say, moving towards the dressing table to dry out my hair.
