Unity is our power.

I sat in the council room, waiting for our tribe's clans representatives to submit their reports so I could work accordingly.

A tribe is formed by joining different clans and every clan has it's own representative who has one job that was to perpetuate the peace between the people living in them and between different clans.

After so many years of war between vampires and werewolves we started developing and civilising ourselves because at that time vampires were more civilized than us, as they used to live around humans which was the main reason why we had a very hard time dealing with them but after having economical stability and civilization, both vampires and werewolves had a peace treaty, one of the major treaty stated that they would never trespass our lands or hunt on our lands and same goes for us.

Just like humans we have progressed in civilising ourselves and our societies but unlike humans we developed ourself without exploiting nature or environment and without doing any dirty politics to our own people. A werewolf loyalty always lie with their alpha, their mother nature and their tribe.

Time passed and the council room filled with many people they all bowed together and sat on their respected seats after submitting their reports, we talked about various things that would bore anyone out of their mind but this had to be done sooner or later.

We were about to wrap things up when suddenly a messanger opened the door and asked for my forgiveness fir distrubing and gave a paper to his clan representative. The beta opened the paper as quickly as possible and read it.

"The Gibbous tribe is again trying to break the treaty by changing the path of waterline, if that happens the scarcity of water will become one of the major problems of my clan and with no less time whole tribe's." The beta emphasized the whole scenario to our main concil.

"They are most certainly asking for a war, aren't they?" The omega stood up from his chair and said excitedly.

"This is the second time they have done that." A voice said and many voices followed.

"This have to stop or our people will face the consequences."

"We should ask them nicely."

"Ask them nicely! This is the second time, they had done that. Think what can they do in third time, it's not the time for being saint."

I closed my eyes and slammed the table to get everyone's attention. "Write a letter saying I, the alpha of Crescent tribe wants to meet there alpha today and everyone except my pack will remain here and everyone else, dismissed!"

"Will you still go there to make peace when they're clearly trying to insult us not once but twice by?" One of the female beta cautioned.

"They are not doing this to break the treaty, they have some other motives that they are disguising and I think I know what they are" I answered.

I smilingly looked at the omega and said. "It's a war then."

Everyone looked shocked except for the omega, his eyes were shining with mischief. He wanted to fight so badly because the last time we fought with those treacherous wolves he couldn't accompany us but now he had a chance.

Before anyone could say anything I raised my hand and asked. "What's the most traditional and effective way to hide our scent from other werewolves?"

"Drenching ourself in water" They all said unison.

After we drenched ourself with water, we could easily lower our scents to other wolves but not completely dismiss it but still it could work and enough to take a chance.

"And what's the best way to invade a territory when it's alpha is not there." I added. They all started to understand the meaning behind my words.

The Gibbous tribe has always been in bad terms with us and this time they had been so stupid to make the first move but still I appreciated their guts for initiating such a dangerous task but what was the point of it when they all are going to alter nothing.

My whole pack stood in the woods, ready to kill. Just like I imagined the intruders entered our lands and when they figured out that got caught they stopped, they tried to retrieve their steps backwards but it was of no use. They were already surrounded by all us in all direction.

"Who sent you and why?" Asked the omega impatiently.

"We'll never betray our tribe." The intruder stated sternly.

Omega stepped forward and changed its werewolf form, his fur yellowish brown fur shined and he glowered, ready to tear them in half.

"You can't kill us, your alpha is not here. You can't take actions without your alpha's command." The intruder yelled in panic.

I smirked and commanded. "I think the alpha will not visit your tribe after all. Kill those two and let this guy live but

make him as good as dead because at least we should get some useful information out of him."

***

The fight settled easily as expected because our numbers were far greater than the opponents. All the intruders were dead and their bodies was escorted to their land with a warning "If you hassle with us again these are not the only bodies you will deal with."

Suddenly a voice rang on the surrounding. "There could be many ways to solve a problem but violence was not one of them." James stood behind the tree and repeated those words again those were the words of my mother. She used to taught us this life lessons when we were young and clearly James was not agreeing with my earlier decisions. I dismissed my pack and I walked towards  him, I knew killing them was an insane thing to do but that was also the right thing to do and they already had their  chance to make peace between the two tribes but why would we tolerate and beg to make amends it just made us weak and vulnerable. This tribe has been one of the strongest tribe since forever and I won't let that name and status got away this easily just for some peace which was never there. Instead of talking to him I left our conversation and possible argument for another time.

I opened my house door and my father stood in the doorstep narrowing his eyes at me. "I didn't know my daughter became so big that she would take tribes important decision without even considering my opinion on them."

"Father there was no time and you were not in the meeting and last time when I did what you told me, that was to go there myself and make peace really doesn't affected anything and from above that they send intruders with dangerous motives in our tribes." I defended.

He didn't say anything because he knew I was right, without saying anything else he left for his room and I relaxed but peace wasn't easy to find in my household. James grabbed my shoulders from behind and made me look at him and said. "Does this make you happy, being an alpha and killing innocent people?"

"They were no innocents, if it was not for me than our own true innocent people might be dead now. Our people would be begging for their lives and those invaders wouldn't let mercy on them" I shouted at him.

He released me. "You have changed so much since you become an alpha, I miss my sister who has humanity in her."

"Many will, because that little girl is 'The Alpha' now, who have to think about her tribe first before her damn life." I turned on my heels and left for my room.

That night again, people were summoned by my name and the news of intruders invading our lands was on everyone lips, they were impatient to know what happened, were they safe or not and many more unanswered questions were there.

I sat on my seat and my father stood up for acknowledging the crowd when I stopped him and stood up to acknowledge my own people.

"My people" I took a deep breath and everyone fell silent "we all won again because of our unity, which is our core strength and those intruders couldn't break it. They came here with motives but conquered nothing and they died for nothing." Everyone hailed my name. "We are stronger than before with our strength and loyalty to our lands and we will win again and again because I know that this tribe is in your blood as it is in mine and we shall protect it by sticking together and supporting our people."

Everyone hailed my name again and my brother who was standing between the crowd shook his head in denial and left.
