Emmett’s POV
The shadow wolf had been reborn in my lifetime.
If that wasn’t the universe giving me a sign, then I don’t know what else.
Now came the hard part, finding it before anyone else. It could be hidden in any of the twelve clans. And since each clan possessed a flame sapphire, they already knew what I knew. They would be hunting too.
I sighed and leaned back against the leather seat of the SUV. In the rearview mirror, Ike’s eyes lingered on me.
“If you have something to say, say it. Quit staring,” I muttered.
“Did you mean what you told Lilith?” He asked, his knuckles whitened on the steering wheel.
“When have I ever said something I did not mean?”
He pursed his lips into a thin line and focused on the road.
We were almost home now. Behind those gates waited my nemesis’s most precious treasure—Kora. The thought curved my mouth into a small smile. At last, the pieces were falling into place.
“You have everything now, why destroy the world?” his gruff voice lulled me back to reality.
I leaned into my seat, watching the trees blur past. “The prophecy is clear. The shadow wolf will rise again and destroy the world, just like it did five centuries ago. I just tweaked it a little. We will get the shadow on our side and help it destroy the other clans.”
I caught his reflection through the rear mirror. “Or would you rather they live?”
I saw his jaw clench and unclench and that was all the answer I needed. He remembered all too well. Hell, the scar on his face would be a constant reminder for the rest of his life.
“That’s what I thought,” I returned my gaze out the tinted window of the SUV.
“Gather the best men you can. Send them to the eleven clans. They will be my eyes and ears. If there’s word of the shadow wolf, or the silver, I want it in my hands first.”
“Understood,” Ike nodded, shaking his locks.
The SUV slowed to a stop before my mansion. I stared at the front door, as though expecting it to swing open at any second.
Exhaling, I stepped out as Ike opened the door.
As I stepped inside, Edna was at my side instantly. “Alpha, your bride is waiting,” she said with a wide smile, causing the corner of her lips to crease.
“Good,” I replied, making my way past her and up the winding stairs.
When I got to her bedroom door, I paused. I could hear her bare feet, padding on the tile floor, I could hear her heart hammering inside her chest.
She was terrified.
As she should be.
I shoved the door open and almost immediately, my eyes found hers. Her green orbs stared back at me with as much indifference as she could muster.
She looked perfect in the red lacy dress she had on, which framed the curve of her slender body perfectly. Her hair were covered completely with a black scarf.
That was too bad. I liked the hair.
And even worse for her, I loathed the smell of her blood.
I slammed the door shut behind me and took slow deliberate steps towards her.
She backed away slowly, her heart racing even faster now. I could see delicious fear flash across her face.
I have waited for so long for this moment. And finally…
“You don’t have to do this, please,” her voice trembled.
I paused.
“What ever Ma… my father had done to you, I had no part of it. And I am so so….”
“Strip.”
A mixture of shock and disbelief flashed across her face. “What?”
“Strip!” I growled, folding my arms over my chest.
Her lips trembled and I waited for her to fight me. The harder she fights the more pleasurable this would be.
I haven’t been with a woman in years and this wasn’t how I imagined it would be. This was better.
So much better.
To my dismay, her trembling fingers peeled down the sleeves of her dress slowly. For a brief moment, she hesitated before pulling the dress all the way down.
My eyes fell on her firm breasts, my mouth watered.
Then the world shifted.
A sudden ringing exploded in my ears, followed by a scream. A distant scream in my head.
No, not a scream. A pleading. A masculine voice, frayed with terror.
The ringing increased. I groaned, slapping my hands against my ears as though to block out the awful sound.
A bright image flashed in my head, it was too blurry, too quick, for me to pin it down.
What the fuck was happening?
Another scream followed.
The shrill sound echoed above the ringing in my ears.
My hands rubbed over my face. The voice sounded so familiar.
It took a moment, before it hit me.
The screaming wasn’t echoing in my head like the first time, it was echoing in the room.
My eyes snapped open and they fell on Kora.
She was hunched over on the ground, her pale fingers clutching at her sides.
Slowly, the ringing in my head died down and was replaced by a growl, growing deep inside my chest.
My wolf.
He fought to break free, barring my fangs and claws.
I fell on my knees, fighting to force the beast back. But he wanted Kora. For whatever reason, he wanted Kora desperately.
But I couldn’t let him out. Not after what happened the last time he was set free outside of my chambers.
I slammed my balled fist into the ground, snarling as I shoved him right back. By the time I regained control, my skin was slick with sweat and breath ragged.
Then I glanced up at her and my blood ran cold.
Kora was standing now, a confused— mostly terrified —look etched on her face, as her chest rose and fell rapidly
Her hands had dropped from her sides, revealing a mark.
My mark.
How the fuc…?

Emmett’s POVTwenty years ago, Maduro and his army had invaded my father’s clan, The Blood clan, in the middle of the night. The Blood clan was feared amongst the twelve clans, because we were the only clan that had magic. Though we were feared and stronger than the other clans, we were peaceful, my father, Thano, made sure of that. But the other clans conspired and with Maduro leading their combined troops, destroyed the Blood clan. I was just fifteen years old when that happened. They killed everyone who had magic and those without magic were taken hostage. My parents were killed in the attack, myself and my sister, Leia, were also taken hostage. I was beaten and tortured just for fun, while Leia was raped almost everynight by Maduro’s men and all I could do was watch from my cell with tears in my eyes. Until one night, they took her away and I never saw her again. I had prayed for death but it never came. Then five years later, a strange prisoner was brought in and I struck a de
Kali’s POVMy life has always been one big shit show. With never ending shit balls being thrown at me at every corner.Tears welled up in my eyes and I blinked it away, to prevent the tears from rolling down my cheeks and ruining my makeup. The makeup artist, a middle aged woman with kind eyes, looked at me pitifully but dared not say anything to me probably because Hera was hovering nervously around the room. The lady applied more make up on my arms and neck to cover the dark red bruises and then applied more blush to my cheeks to hide how pale I was. Then she stepped away.Hera took one look at me before nodding in approval. My white hair had been packed in a neat bun; the red corset dress I wore was divine and all my bruises and scars were gone.I looked perfect. The perfect bride for the mad Alpha. That was why Kora had cooked up the story of me stealing the sapphire, so she could escape her fate of being given to the mad Alpha and so she could have my…Enzo to herself. And He
Kali’s POVI staggered backwards, my eyes still glued to the scene in front of me. My lips trembled as my heart shattered into a million pieces.I wanted…needed to cry.But I could not shed a single tear. Not from lack of trying.I would give anything in this very moment to be able to break down and cry myself a river at this betrayal. But as has been the case all my life, I could not shed a single teardrop. “Why?” the question came out as a shaky, screeching sound. Kora grabbed the duvet and wrapped it loosely around her exposed breast, her face completely devoid of any remorse. Instead, her lips curled up in a small, triumphant smile. What did I ever do to Kora to make her hate me so much? She had everything. The perfect life. Beautiful, flowing black hair. Parents who loved her and flocks of men just dying for her to look in their direction.Making my life miserable at home was not enough for her, she also had to take Enzo from me. Out of every fucking man in the pack, why did i
Kali’s POV“I would rather die,” he said.I felt my heart swell. I reached out and held his face, a small smile on my lips. “Nothing would ever tear us apart,” I assured him at the same time, assuring myself that we would always have each other. He kissed both my knuckles before pulling me in for a small kiss. “You are my one true mate Kali, always remember that,” my heart fluttered at his words. “And when the time is right, we will run away together and start our lives somewhere new, away from all these drama.”I was ready to run away anytime, any day, all Enzo needed to do was say when. Unlike Enzo, I had no one. I never met my mother or my father. Soraya was the closest thing I had to a mother and she died years ago. She had told me that my mother died while giving birth to me. And since Soraya was the servant of Alpha Maduro and his Luna Hera, that automatically made me a servant. To the entire Red Peak pack, I was the white haired freak that no one wanted to be friends with. I w
