Cassandra still couldn't believe that she employed a man into such a job. Well, right now isn't a time for her to think about anything else but to test his skill, if she should notice any bad character in him, she won't think twice but fire him with immediate effect.
The next day, she got to work, as she walked into her company, Dennis walked towards her, his hands filled with files but Cassandra didn't look at him, her pace still fixed on her destination.
"Ma'am, the LAX company sent an email through the company's mail box" he said walking very fast as he didn't want to be left behind, they both got into the elevator and Cassandra stood still, not a friendly look could be seen on her face.
"What do they need?" She asked. Dennis quickly pressed the fifth floor button and the elevator began to ascend.
"They need us to come to a compromise concerning a certain contract you signed a week ago" Denis said, his fingers still wrapped around the files in his hand, his eyes not leaving his boss who stood in front of him as he dared not to stand side to side with her.
At first, Cassandra was quiet, "Send them a message that I won't do such and no one will force me to make a compromise which involves millions of dollars so fast. I need time, nothing more than that" she stated and the door of the elevator opened, they both walked out.
Not knowing what else to say, Dennis knew how serious the email is and with the look on his boss face, he knew that there is something wrong going on that she doesn't want him to be aware of.
"Alright Ma'am, I will do as you say" he said and watched her walk into her office.
Cassandra closed the door of her office, sat on the Sofa and let out a deep sigh. Right now, she regrets making such a contract with this company knowing so well that they want to try their best to outsmart her and maybe take her company away from her but this is something she won't allow.
With a troubled mind, she began to go through some files, her eyes trying not to miss a point at all but her mind was filled with her current problem and right now, she is so down that she has no idea on what to do next.
A knock on her office door alerted her, Cassandra looked up wondering who it was.
"Do come in" she said and Dennis walked in.
"Ma'am, I have sent your reply just like you stated but the LAX company isn't buying it. They insist that we schedule an appointment as soon as possible, they prefer making all arrangements in person and not through calls or texts" Dennis said calmly but with a sharp tone.
Cassandra was taken aback by their words, "How dare they?" She muttered under her breath to the hearing of Dennis who just stood and watched her not knowing what to say.
"Make an appointment tomorrow morning by 11 am, I need everything done so that they can get out the exact same way they came" Cassandra responded and looked away from him, "Do leave now, i have things I have to get dond" she ushered him out as she tried to contain the hardness in her.
Confused, Dennis walked out, although it isn't written on Cassandra's face, Dennis knows that she is unhappy about something and he wishes there is a way he can help out. He is her personal assistant and things like this shouldn't be hidden away from him.
With a file in his hand, he walked towards Jasmine who sat behind her desk, her hand busy on her computer.
"Hi" Dennis smiled at her. Jasmine looked up surprised to see him.
"Hi Dennis, it's good to see you," she said, not knowing what to say. Jasmine hopes that her attention isn't needed by their boss, she doesn't want to have anything to clash herself with Cassandra since she already has a PA now.
"Good to see you too Jasmine" Dennis said, paused and a serious look appeared on his face, "Can I ask you something? I want this to be kept between us please, you know how hard Miss Johnson can be" he said to her.
His words must have alerted Jasmine, she quickly paid full attention to him and stopped typing on the computer next to her.
"Sure, you can. Of course, I won't say a word because I don't want to get fired" she said with a chuckle and Dennis laughed too.
"Well, it isn't something that serious. I noticed that there is something going on with Miss Johnson but she doesn't want to say a word to me" Dennis said to the surprise of Jasmine who let out an eyebrow.
"Did she say a word to you? And what do you mean by something is wrong? Is it within the company or just her private life?" She asked, looking very confused.
Dennis got closer to her desk and shook his head, "She didn't say a word to me but I just feel it due to an email the company received from a certain company named the LAX. Their message seems to be discomforting her in a way and I can feel it although she still had that tough look on her face" he poured out to Jasmine who smiled.
"You don't have to be bothered about that Dennis" she said to him, "Miss Johnson is a very tough woman and I have been working with her for the past five years. I don't think she is the kind of person that will be let down by anyone. I feel that it's all your imagination because you want nothing but the best for the company and also to perform your job as her PA but I assure you that everything is alright" she smiled at him in a reassuring way that he should not get bordered by things like this.
Dennis nodded, "Alright, if you say so but I will be grateful if you let me know what business Miss Johnson has with them" he asserted, his deep eyes not leaving her.
Jasmine sighed with a calm look, "You are really an inquisitive person and also very observant, I am sure that our boss will be happy about that but I will advise you that it is best you don't worry yourself about things like this and leave it all to Miss Johnson, this is her company and she will surely handle it perfectly" she replied with a smile and Dennis stood there not knowing what else to say.
Feeling dejected, Dennis walked back into his office, he sat on his chair, let out a sigh and buried his head in his hands.Moving into California has been a rollercoaster for him but getting employed into the most successful company in the United States is a goal he is so delighted that he achieved. Dennis has heard so many things about Cassadra, her toughness and inability to withstand laziness from any of her workers and indeed the rumors are true.Right now, all he hope on is to get the best out of his job and be able to provide money every month to pay his rent and other expenses. His parents lived back in New York and living far away from Them is something he is thrilled to experience.Being a young man of twenty five, Dennis could say that his life h
The day rolled by fast and soon, it was the end of work time. Dennis quickly followed Cassandra to her car and watched her chauffeur drive her into the busy road. With a sigh of relief that the day's torment had ended, Dennis still couldn't believe that this was just his first day at work and it felt like he had worked there for years. He walked towards his car, got in and drove home ready for what tomorrow night brought. All he wishes for is that the meeting should go to Cassandra's favor just to avoid more cussing from her, he just can't put up with her character because his experience today has shown him how the rest of his days working here will be.Cassandra got home very worried, she has no idea why she scheduled for a meeting tomorrow when she ha
Cassandra sat at the edge of her Sofa, her eyes fixed on the TV set close to her but her mind was filled with the thoughts of Dennis. The young man's confidence is dating enough for her, deep inside her, she hopes that he comes out with a solution because right now, she needs someone's help but she doesn't know how to bring herself so low to admit that. With her gaze glued on the TV, she took a sip from the glass cup, her left foot tap slowly on the ground beneath her.Suddenly, her phone rang bringing her back to reality, she glanced at her side, picked up the phone and was surprised to know that it is no one else but Dennis calling. She felt her heart leap a beat and she wondered why, right now, all she wants to hear
The rest of the day went by so quickly and the next day, Dennis found himself driving to the airport along with Cassandra who sat next to him dressed in a luxurious purple gown and sunglasses covering her eyes."It's just an hour flight and we will be there in no time" Cassandra let out and glanced at her wristwatch."How many more minutes do we have left to get to the airport?" She asked her chauffeur."Five minutes Ma'am" the older man replied, his eyes fixed on the road.Dennis didn't say a word but held onto Cassandra's hand bag. He inhaled deeply, the nice scent of Cassandra held his nostril and he tried so hard not to let it be obvious that he was thrilled by her scent.
Dennis sat inside the car with his eyes fixed on his phone. He glanced at his wristwatch realizing that twenty minutes had passed and Cassandra is yet to be seen.He sat still not knowing what to do as he wonders if she is really busy and the thought of him going in to meet her might spark her anger and right now, Dennis doesn't want any of that.He inhaled deeply, looked up at the car ceiling and down to his phone. He doesn't know why he feels so tense and the picture of Cassandra keeps playing in his mind. He feels like he has been hypnotized by her or maybe because of the nature of his job, he has to consider himself to be close to her at any minute. Not knowing what else to do, Dennis waited patiently for Cassandra, he glanced at the entrance of the sop
Cassandra slowly woke up, her eyes fixed to the ceiling as the whole room was silent to her dismay. She scanned around and wondered how she got in here, all she can remember is her throwing up at the party restroom so everything around her is so strange.Quickly, she sat up and noticed that the blanket was lauded over her. Still confused, she looked down and realized that she was still putting on her dress from last night but her shoes were off her feet."Who laid me here?" She asked herself with flickering eyes which scanned the room nonstop. She quickly ransacked the bed but couldn't find her phone. Worried, she got up from the bed, searched the nearby drawers but still, there was no sign of her phone. Quickly, her eyes glanced at the purse she took to the party, Cassandra quickly walked towards it, opened it and saw he
"Why the sudden change of plan Ma'am?" Dennis asked the next morning as they both headed towards the airport."It is none of your business Dennis, do not ask me irrelevant questions" she shunned him at once, her eyes fixed on the open window of the Limo. They both got into the airport and soon, their flight kicked off at once. After an hour, they were back in the city of California, both of them heading towards her company. As soon as they got in, her workers were shocked to see her this early, they all walked to their work post but Cassandra saw them all."Camila, Ben and Jerry, see me at my office right now!" She shouted at three of her workers
Cassandra's eyes flickered around as she tried to hide the disbelief in her eyes."Alright, you can leave now" she said to Jasmine who stayed back."Ma'am, the ladies outside are here for you to interview them," Jasmine reminded her.Cassandra looked unsure, "Are there some ladies outside?" She inquired.Jasmine nodded wondering what her boss meant by such a question and if she wondered if Cassandra didn't really see those ladies waiting outside her office.Confused, Cassandra sighed, she was totally drawn to Dennis' issue that she didn't notice them. She hopes that she can find a PA as good as Dennis, see has to because with the look of thi
