Fears coming to play

Cassandra still couldn't believe that she employed a man into such a job. Well, right now isn't a time for her to think about anything else but to test his skill, if she should notice any bad character in him, she won't think twice but fire him with immediate effect.

The next day, she got to work, as she walked into her company, Dennis walked towards her, his hands filled with files but Cassandra didn't look at him, her pace still fixed on her destination.

"Ma'am, the LAX company sent an email through the company's mail box" he said walking very fast as he didn't want to be left behind, they both got into the elevator and Cassandra stood still, not a friendly look could be seen on her face.

"What do they need?" She asked. Dennis quickly pressed the fifth floor button and the elevator began to ascend.

"They need us to come to a compromise concerning a certain contract you signed a week ago" Denis said, his fingers still wrapped around the files in his hand, his eyes not leaving his boss who stood in front of him as he dared not to stand side to side with her.

At first, Cassandra was quiet, "Send them a message that I won't do such and no one will force me to make a compromise which involves millions of dollars so fast. I need time, nothing more than that" she stated and the door of the elevator opened, they both walked out.

Not knowing what else to say, Dennis knew how serious the email is and with the look on his boss face, he knew that there is something wrong going on that she doesn't want him to be aware of.

"Alright Ma'am, I will do as you say" he said and watched her walk into her office.

Cassandra closed the door of her office, sat on the Sofa and let out a deep sigh. Right now, she regrets making such a contract with this company knowing so well that they want to try their best to outsmart her and maybe take her company away from her but this is something she won't allow.

With a troubled mind, she began to go through some files, her eyes trying not to miss a point at all but her mind was filled with her current problem and right now, she is so down that she has no idea on what to do next.

A knock on her office door alerted her, Cassandra looked up wondering who it was.

"Do come in" she said and Dennis walked in.

"Ma'am, I have sent your reply just like you stated but the LAX company isn't buying it. They insist that we schedule an appointment as soon as possible, they prefer making all arrangements in person and not through calls or texts" Dennis said calmly but with a sharp tone.

Cassandra was taken aback by their words, "How dare they?" She muttered under her breath to the hearing of Dennis who just stood and watched her not knowing what to say.

"Make an appointment tomorrow morning by 11 am, I need everything done so that they can get out the exact same way they came"  Cassandra responded and looked away from him, "Do leave now, i have things I have to get dond" she ushered him out as she tried to contain the hardness in her.

Confused, Dennis walked out, although it isn't written on Cassandra's face, Dennis knows that she is unhappy about something and he wishes there is a way he can help out. He is her personal assistant and things like this shouldn't be hidden away from him.

With a file in his hand, he walked towards Jasmine who sat behind her desk, her hand busy on her computer.

"Hi" Dennis smiled at her. Jasmine looked up surprised to see him.

"Hi Dennis, it's good to see you," she said, not knowing what to say. Jasmine hopes that her attention isn't needed by their boss, she doesn't want to have anything to clash herself with Cassandra since she already has a PA now.

"Good to see you too Jasmine" Dennis said, paused and a serious look appeared on his face, "Can I ask you something? I want this to be kept between us please, you know how hard Miss Johnson can be" he said to her.

His words must have alerted Jasmine, she quickly paid full attention to him and stopped typing on the computer next to her.

"Sure, you can. Of course, I won't say a word because I don't want to get fired" she said with a chuckle and Dennis laughed too.

"Well, it isn't something that serious. I noticed that there is something going on with Miss Johnson but she doesn't want to say a word to me" Dennis said to the surprise of Jasmine who let out an eyebrow.

"Did she say a word to you? And what do you mean by something is wrong? Is it within the company or just her private life?" She asked, looking very confused.

Dennis got closer to her desk and shook his head, "She didn't say a word to me but I just feel it due to an email the company received from a certain company named the LAX. Their message seems to be discomforting her in a way and I can feel it although she still had that tough look on her face" he poured out to Jasmine who smiled.

"You don't have to be bothered about that Dennis" she said to him, "Miss Johnson is a very tough woman and I have been working with her for the past five years. I don't think she is the kind of person that will be let down by anyone. I feel that it's all your imagination because you want nothing but the best for the company and also to perform your job as her PA but I assure you that everything is alright" she smiled at him in a reassuring way that he should not get bordered by things like this.

Dennis nodded, "Alright, if you say so but I will be grateful if you let me know what business Miss Johnson has with them" he asserted, his deep eyes not leaving her.

Jasmine sighed with a calm look, "You are really an inquisitive person and also very observant, I am sure that our boss will be happy about that but I will advise you that it is best you don't worry yourself about things like this and leave it all to Miss Johnson, this is her company and she will surely handle it perfectly" she replied with a smile and Dennis stood there not knowing what else to say.
