As I finally arrived at the dining table, I was met with a tray containing a strange combo. It was a toasted egg infused with veggies and meat. Beside it was a mazagran cup of steamy tea. The meal looks so classy and by appearance I could swear it’ll be delicious. In fact the ambrosial smell emitting from the meal got me craving to devour the meal already. I rolled my eyes, sat down before the meal and I reached for the cutleries. “The italian breakfast frittata,” Just as I shove the fork into the toast egg, about to start eating, a masculine voice spoke, making a halt. The owner of the voice walked to my view and it was Jericho of course. He had a smirk on his face and I frowned at him. What the fishbones is he talking about and what the hell is he even doing here? I withdrew my gaze from him, I scanned around the table and looked at his hands to be sure he wasn’t going to be having breakfast with me. “Incase you’re wondering what the meal is called, that’s the name and it’s on
It was still early, just 10am. I couldn’t just stay in my room all day so I decided to go shopping. I lacked a lot of stuff; clothes, cosmetics and even jewelry. I was typically bundled down here. Normally I shop every weekend but I haven’t been able to do that ever since I was sold off for marriage. After taking my time to shuffle my outfit, I was finally settled in a dark leather short skirt, peach turtleneck and an overall coat dropping at the back of my boot heels which reached up to my lower knees. A maid later brought me another set of breakfast, they made sure to note that it wasn’t from Massimo. I could have still eaten it regardless. I mean Jericho's meal was even more palatable and tasted heaven but I just did all that to spite him. Once I was done eating, I re-styled my hair to a simple ponytail. I wore my shades and headed out. I however, walked into Alfonso just when I made my last step from the stairs. “So finally you decided to come back!” A masculine voice grunte
I was lost in thought and I sat with my back against the executive table in my office when someone walked in."Sir, ma'am is on her way out," one of the guards I had made to watch Leia discreetly, said to me."How is that a piece of information? She is on her way out to where!?" I roared and swiveled my chair around to glare at the guard."She is going out for shopping," the guard responded in a rush."Alright, follow her discreetly," I responded and waved him off. I put a call to Alex and he picked up immediately."Hello Alex, Leia is going shopping. Get the name of the shopping mall and get out every rat in there… She needs to shop like a queen. Also get a car and a driver ready. You are not going with her," I said meaningfully and began to leave my office.I scurried down and bursted into Leia right by the door. "Where the heck are you going? Are you absconding again?" I queried."What do you care? If I tell you, are you going to trap me down and lock me up again? And mind you I h
With my big carrier bags held in a division of twos by my side, it felt like I’d trudged a strenuous journey to finally arrive at my doorstep. Considering that I rarely do any mundane stress like this way back at my father’s castle. I always have the maids at my service even before I ask. Well granted, mani and some other maids had volunteered to help carry my stuff but I just didn’t give a tiny damn about their offers. As far as I’m concerned, this place isn’t my home. I take it that I’m squatting here and till I decide what next step to take, I’ll keep doing things my own way here in this motherfucking-hell hole. I’d been feeling a surge of adrenaline having dealt with that slimy bitch to my satisfaction. But my mood turned off when I met Lin right at my door post. Seems like she’d been waiting keenly for me because I met her pacing back and forth and she immediately heaved a relief once her eyes darted on me. “Hey, leia please wait...” she lightly touched my arm just when I w
I just had my breakfast served in the penthouse when Alex walked in. He had a serious look about him and I wondered what was wrong."Capo de grande asked for you," Alex said. "It's too early for such shit, I am not in the mood…Anything from Leia?""Leia? If you expect her to come rushing at your feet just because you didn't go see her, then you are wrong. Anyways, the boss wants you around before the next hour," Alex said. He sat at the dining table and began to devour my meal.I knew what this is, father needs a briefing, it's been long I did one. The old man still has his eyes on all that he has. He is hot and cold. I have witnessed his fine and raw sides. He takes no shit.He hasn't named his successor but it's obvious that I am the heir apparent, that is If I was not killed before it happens.I walked into his chambers and his wives made way for me. They all bowed as I walked in. I wondered why father made his wives do that. They reference Luca and I.I walked into my father's cha
The serenity of the cemetery ground gave me an eerie feeling. The only sound that could be heard is bird chirping. My eyes squinted in sadness as I stood just before my mother’s tomb.I was superglued to a spot, totally clueless about what to do.My hands suddenly wobbled because I’d exhausted them for too long while holding the bunch of roses I’d brought. Finally, I dropped the flower right beside me. My head was preoccupied with what Alfonso had said. He awoke a part of me that I’d worked so hard to bury; grief, pain, weakness, vulnerability... every feeling in the world that just made you feel like shit. My mind travelled to every single memory I’d about my mother and suddenly I missed her all over again. I was just an infant when my mother died. I made only short memories with her. Those short memories were still vivid in my mind.I’d never visited mother’s grave ever since she died because I didn’t want to bring back the past but today I decided to approach my fear. Everyth
LeiaI rubbed my eyes as I sat up from my bed. The sun that crept through the tiny creek of the curtain woke me. I turned to the other side and sighed when I didn't see Jericho. He never came back the previous night.I slipped down from my bed and dragged my tired legs to the bathroom. I was famished after refusing dinner from the previous night. Well, how could I force the food down my throat when I loathed them all? I was certain Aldina could poison my food if she had the chance. That bitch, I cursed inwardly. As usual, my breakfast was delivered by one of the maids. I craved to ask her where Jericho was, but I knew she wasn't going to tell me. I felt so restricted. As much as I disliked Jericho, I needed to confirm he wasn't dead after all.The whole day consisted of laying on my bed, scrolling through the internet. I had no zeal to go out. The only time I thought to leave was for dinner. I did that not because I was so hungry or because I had forgiven them for what they did. I j
I had just finished my breakfast when one of the maids walked in. "Senorita is asking after you," the maid said."Senorita? Who the hell is that?" I asked and found my way out. There in my doorway, Lin was standing grinning from ear to ear. "Leia," she called out richly with her arms wide. I stood rooted in my spot and I folded my arms across my breasts. She took the hint and lowered her arms." I guess I came too early...I could hardly sleep…you were on my mind all through the night… I am here to take you to Jericho's mother," she rambled all along."Oh!… That is what this is all about… I had almost forgotten… give me some minutes, I will be ready," I said and shut the door against her face.*******We walked briskly through the premises. Lin did all the talking while I listened. After about a thirty minute walk, we were at the cemetery. We passed through different old tombs and I knew each has its history.Right before us was a white shining tomb. It was well groomed and it was ou
