Richard Wadsley walked into his mansion sitting room with Ryan behind him.

Echoes of laughter filled the room, coming directly from the kitchen.

“Mom! Tell Eva to stop,” Ava's voice echoed with a sound of laughter.

“You started it first…Did you think I'll let it go? In your dreams.” Eva sounded breathless as if she was running a marathon.

Ava's laughter became louder till she started coughing. “Time out! Time out.” She said between her coughs.

“Eva, be careful. You shouldn’t be running around like that in your condition.” Eleanor warned her with concern. “And stop throwing grains at your sister.”

Richard stood at the entrance of the kitchen, feeling overwhelmed to see his wife standing behind the counter and smiling while Eva and Ava were running around the kitchen counter, throwing grains.

This atmosphere has been lost in the mansion for months, and he thought they would never leave like that again. It felt surreal.

“You guys are having fun without me?” Ryan's voice interrupt

“Shouldn't we at least tell dad?” Ava asked her mother in a hush tone. Eleanor shook her head, “No, he's doing enough already. We shouldn't add this to his troubles. Let's figure this out on our own.” They were both standing in the middle of the sitting room, dressed up and preparing to leave. “Are you heading somewhere, auntie?” They flinched at the sound of Ryan's voice behind them. Eleanor forced a smile, “Yes dear, we want to get some groceries real quick.” She replied.“Oh, let me come with you then, I need to get something too.” Ryan offered, turning back inside, “I'll go get my jacket.” “No, no, my dear,” she said nervously and made Ryan stop in his tracks. “We are not buying much. Just relax. You've been really stressed out these days.” “Text me the things you need, I'll get them for you.” Ava added.“Are you sure?” he questioned. Eleanor smiled harder, “Of course. Your uncle will come down soon. You can keep him company until we get back.” “Okay,” Ryan nodded. Eleano

Samantha lifted her tear streaked face, “No matter what I say, you're never going to believe me, right?” she questioned with a cracked voice. “Unless you have strong evidence.” The officer responded, keeping a straight face. “Jonathan Darlington will do anything to clear his grandson's name even if I come out with evidence.” She spat. “Of course not. Mr. Darlington wants a fair judgement. He wants to find out the real truth behind this, too.” “But Norman is out there fabricating evidence while I'm locked up in here. Does this look fair to you, huh?” she snapped. Shawn's fist clenched as he watched Samantha. “He really has her in a tight spot.” Ryan commented, “She won't have any choice but to give in now.” “Not if there's hope.” Richard interrupted. “Eva's statement might be the hope she needs right now.” Ryan turned his head in a sharp movement to look at Richard. “Officer Greg is trying to make her give in no matter what. He's on their side.” He whined. Henry's voice cut in

“What the hell are you saying? I didn't do this alone, I was following orders from Norman.” Samantha banged her fist on the table.“Mind your tone, young lady!” Officer Greg banged the table; Samantha flinched at the impact. “You are in no position to raise your voice here, do you understand?” Samantha looked frustrated and grabbed her hair like she was about to go crazy. “You aren't listening to me!” She tried to keep her voice down. “Please investigate this properly, I never had Eva with me, Norman had her the whole time, I swear to you, I'm telling the truth.” “Do you have any evidence to prove your claims?” Officer Greg narrowed his eyes on her. Shawn, Henry, Richard, Ryan, and Officer Wilson watched the investigation from the other room. “She's been sticking to these words ever since.” He turned to face them. “But the issue is, there's no evidence. She has no proof that Norman ordered her to do it. She was the only one who had communications with the kidnappers.” “Yes, but

“I need to get out of here.” Eva muttered, making her way out the hospital room. She met her mum sitting alone pressing her phone in the waiting room. “Let's go mum.” She said, trying to keep her breaths steady, looking around the waiting room. Eleanor stood up. “We need to wait for the doctor, he said he was going to get your report.” She looked at Eva with furrowed brows, “Are you okay?” She caught a glimpse of how uneasy she was; “I'm fine mum, I just want to go home. I don't want to stay here any longer,” She couldn't hide her trembling voice.Eleanor panicked. “Hey, hey, relaxed Eva. Don't be scared, nothing is going to happen to you, I'm here with you, you are safe here, okay?” She pulled her in closer, she didn't realise that her hands were also trembling too. Daine walked in and met them standing and she noticed Eva's scared face. “What's going on?” She turned to Eva, “What's wrong? Did something happen there?” “No mum, I just want to go home. Can we leave now please?”

“Eleanor! Eva dear!” Diane called and waved as she alighted from her car in the hospital parking lot. Eleanor and Eva were about to enter the hospital main door but they both turned at the sound of Diane's voice. Eleanor waved back at her as she walked closer to them. Diane had a royal blue flared gown on, directly above her knees, her strides were sharp with her low heels which match her black petit hand bag. Her loose curly hair bounced along with her movements. She looked elegant for an hospital visit compared to Eleanor who had a knitted cashmere sweater on, loosely tucked in a high waist jeans which stopped on her ankles and white sneakers to go with it. Her hair was packed in a ponytail and she had a tote bag draped on her shoulder. “I thought I missed you guys.” Daine said with a smile, stopping in front of them. Eleanor smiled back. “No, we just got here, too.” Eva bowed slightly to greet Daine. She had a white jacket on with a black inner top on a blue jeans. She was p

Daine made one of Shawn's favourite dishes and watched him eat his food peacefully before standing up to check if the maid was done cleaning his room. Shawn was still eating on the dining table when his mum came back after a few minutes to inform him that his room was clean and ready. “Thanks mum.” His voice was gentle and soft. He stood and turned to the stairs. “I'll see you and dad tomorrow. Good night.” He walked away. “Good night,” Diane muttered behind him. She packed the plates to the kitchen and stood there for a moment. “I can’t stand seeing my son like this.” Her voice cracked. She went back upstairs to her bedroom with a new sense of determination. Henry was already asleep. She picked up her phone from the bedstand and walked out the room quietly. She went back into the kitchen and dialled a contact on her phone. It rang twice before a voice came in. “Hi, this is Amy. I'm unavailable at the moment. Leave a message after the beep, and I'll call back as soon as I get
