Chapter Twenty Three

Lisa PoV

I’ve never met anyone, wolf or human, to be so dangerous and likable at the same time. It was as if he embodied two personalities. One minute, he was endearing and teasing, the next, he was dangerous and creepy.

“What am I expecting from a man that lives in caves?” I muttered, pushing the plate from which I’d eaten a couple of hours away from the makeshift bed the handsome lunatic had put me in.

It’s been over seven hours since I woke up that morning, and he was yet to come to see me. Usually, I would have appreciated the privacy but I had a thousand and one questions to ask, and he had already promised me answers.

“And now he’s avoiding me,” I angrily kicked the iron plate and it clattered against the rock that surrounded me, echoing and bouncing off the rocky walls.

I was not a stranger to staying in enclosed walls, Axel used to lock me up in dungeons every time, but when I escaped, I vowed never to be locked up again.

“Yet,” I sighed, “here I am.”
