Clea Mair’s Pov

“So?” I raised my eyebrows at Miracle as soon as she got inside the house that she was renting.

She handed me the key to this house and let me go home first before her since she was still busy with her work at SweetHeart and I had been waiting for her in the living room to confront her.

“Why are you here?” I asked. “Why didn’t you even reach out to me?” I pointed at myself. “You know that I always worry about you, right?”

She sighed and sat beside me. “I am here because of an off-the-record mission from Dad,” she said. “It is related to Asper Reign Dahlia.”

I frowned. “What?”

She nodded. “No one knows what I am doing since it is a personal order from Dad,” she added. “And Asper is the owner of the shop where you held your meeting earlier.”

“Then, why didn’t you even try to call me?” I held her shoulders and shook her. “I have been trying to reach you more than you can but you were always out of reach!”

“Hey!” she shouted and cuffed my hand. “Asper is not the only one who needs to hide from the people who have been looking for her, okay?” I also need to be careful since Hector knows that I am one of the people that was tasked to find Asper.”

My brother, Hector, is a bit of an idiot. Because of that, a lot of ministers wanted to control him. And the first thing that they encourage him to do is to get Asper Reign Dahlia into his side by marrying her.

Asper is the director of Rain Foundation, an influential non-government facility in the country that serves what the citizens of Hexoria need. And our citizens admire her more than the members of the royal family.

And because of that, the ministers were divided into two factions.

The first factions were set to do everything they could to make sure that she would become part of the Azaria Clan. They wanted to make use of her and her influence on the public, so they made a plan to ensure that Hector would marry her.

The second faction was set to get rid of her because they believed that she would ruin the power balance that had already existed in the palace.

She is part of the Dahlia Clan, the one that leads the Axia Region. They have the same power as the Azaria Clan before and if they want, they can use it to claim their rights to the throne. But it was taken from them because of the incident that was involved with the current Duke of Axia.

That is why some of the ministers also think that the Dahlia Clan wanted to take back the power that they had once inside the palace using the marriage that Hector had been trying to make.

I sighed. “I understand that,” I said. “But you should at least call me from time to time.”

We may have been in a strange family and grew up not close to each other because of some royal protocol, but we still try our best to patch our relationship with each other.

Our relationship with our brothers was already shattered because of his stupidity. I don’t want my relationship with her to get destroyed too.

That is why as much as possible, I want to talk to her. Even just a simple hi or hello. Even just a simple update on what was happening in our lives.

“Anyway, what about you?” she asked. “Why did you fly all the way here just to meet Andrel Henan?”

“Work-related,” I said. “The company that I worked for needed to get his approval to dock in his port. We are also renting a warehouse there for our product.”

She frowned. “Do you really have to go here?” she said. “His main office is in Teur City, right?”

“He had urgent matters to attend to here and instead of canceling our appointment, he proposed to change our meeting place here,” I stated. “And I agreed since they shouldered my transportation. Besides, we need to sort this issue out as soon as possible so setting another appointment will only give us more problems.”

She narrowed her eyes while staring at me. “Tell me, you didn’t do anything to seduce that man to get his approval, right?”

I frowned and pointed at myself. “Seriously? Do you really think I can do that?”

She stared at me a little longer and sighed. “Well, I trust you. But Andrel Raven Henan has a reputation as a playboy. And there have been a lot of rumors going around that he has been sexually involved with the female representatives of the company that wants to collaborate with his company,” she said. “It was like, they need to use their body just to get his favor for their company.”

“That is also the advice that I got from the woman who helped me set an early appointment with Mister Henan,” I said. “But I am not that kind of woman.”

Though to be honest, those women didn’t seduce him to get his approval. They seduce him because he is handsome and manly. Almost everyone who entered the shop earlier couldn’t help but stare in his direction.

“Let’s cook something for dinner.” She stood up and walked to the kitchen. “Are you going to stay here for a couple of days?”

I followed her. “Yeah,” I answered. “We still have to discuss the rest of the agreement and other sets of rules that we are going to put in the contract before finalizing it. I don’t know when we are going to finish that.”

“Okay.” She opened the refrigerator and checked its contents. “I will stock up on some things that you might need here.” She took out a couple of things and turned to me. “Do you have a car that you can use?”

I shook my head. “But we agreed on meeting up at SweetHeart,” I said. “Maybe I can come with you.”

The ambiance of that shop is nice and it is good to stay there for a while. Even though I wait there, I am sure I won’t get bored.

She frowned. “Are you going to idle there until your appointment?”

I nodded. “Can I?” I asked. “Don’t worry, I will order something to eat.” I don’t want to stay alone in this house so it is better for me to come with her to SweetHeart.

She scratched her head and sighed. “Well, I am sure that Asper will not go there but just in case, use the table in the corner, okay?”

“Okay.”

She cooked our dinner and I was amazed by that since she never tried to learn about cooking when she was still living in the palace. She was kind of a brat before since Dad was spoiling her too much, but everything has changed in the past three years.

I smiled as I watched her and felt proud because she managed to do what she wanted without the help of our family. What she has right now is the fruit of her hard work and no one can take that away from her.

But at the same time, I also feel a little bit of envy.

When do I have the courage to do what I want to do?

Clea Mair’s POVJust like what the twins planned, we visited food parks around the area since we only had limited time for the day, and we had so much fun trying every new dish we saw in each stall there. Some of the stalls agreed to share their recipe for their dish which surely consumed most of my time when I got back to my apartment. When we got full, the twins decided to go straight to SweetHeart for desserts. We took out going to the bar in our plan because we only had a few hours before going back to the hotel.“Woah!” Cheya was amazed when we got inside the shop. There were only a few customers, maybe because it was still office and school hours. But I didn’t expect to see Asper Dahlia here.Well, I know that she owned the place but Miracle once mentioned that she rarely stays here. She silently sat at the counter while folding some napkins while her staff immediately stood up to take care of Cheya and Maya.I hesitated to go there but I guess it was already too late. She knows

And now, they are already in the process of opening their very first owned bar.I also heard, that they work so hard for that and don't let their brother or any other family members help them because they want to stand on their own feet when it comes to business.“I missed you so much.” She sounded like a kid who hadn’t seen her mother in a very long time. “It is good that Andrel finally brought you here.” She let go of me. “Maya and I thought it would be a long time before you come back here.”“I heard you pestered Andrel just for him to take me back here,” I said and turned to Maya who was beside us. “You should have called me.”“We didn’t know your schedule so we were reluctant to conta

Clea Mair’s POVI got back from my normal routine since my parents didn’t want me to get involved with what was going to happen at the palace.Besides, I don’t have anything else to help with them.I don’t have any influence and it will also be hard for me to get Hector’s attention. He is so immature at this point so he might think that Miracle and I are ganging up on him. And it is not good with our plan. We might get results far different from what we expect so might as well, get out of their radar.I will just focus on my own life.“Are you free tonight?” Andrel asked as soon as I answered his call.“Hmm. I don’t have any plans to do after work hours,” I answered. “Do you want to hang out later?”“Pack some clothes for the whole weekend. I’ll pick you up later at your apartment.”I frowned. “Where are we going?” I asked. “Should I file for a leave?”He was silent for a couple of seconds and I just heard him sigh. “Cheya has been bothering me to bring you back to Yain City.”“Hmm?”

Clea Mair’s POVDad started changing the succession law in our country. Fortunately, most of the members of the House of Lords were in favor of these new changes, which is why the process didn’t face any challenges. When they finally changed that certain law, Dad immediately announced that Miracle was given a chance to prove herself to the country to become the better heir.Of course, a lot of people have a negative reaction to this. Most of them were part of our clan since they didn’t really agree on handing that kind of power to a woman, even if it was Miracle who had already proved a lot of things without the help of anyone.Other ministers were also against it but only those part of the faction that sided with Hector. But a huge part of the House of Ministry is still in favor because they truly support what my father wants for this country. And because of these events, Mom advised me not to go to the palace. It is better for me not to get caught up in this mess so that they can mo

Clea Mair’s POVI was too shocked to move as soon as I opened the door of my apartment because I was greeted by a warm and tight hug from Andrel. And because we are too close to each other, I can feel that his whole body is shaking. His heartbeat is faster than normal as if he ran a hundred miles before coming here. What the hell happened to him?Why do I feel like he was too scared to let go of me?“Andrel?” I caressed his back and he slowly loosened his embrace. “Is there something wrong?” He completely let go of me so I held his shoulder so I could see his face. And I can’t explain his expression. Mixed emotions were lingering in his eyes but I can only name one. Fear.“Hey…” I held his cheeks when he was about to avert his gaze away from me. “What is it? Why are you acting like this?”“N-nothing…”“He got scared.”We both turned our attention to Leon who was standing behind Andrel.“Leon!” Andrel shushed him.“We immediately reported to him that you went out of the apartment,” Leo

Clea Mair’s POVThe sudden closeness between Boss Jyn and Asper Dahlia gave Rajiv and Miracle a chance to clear everything with each other. Though they hadn’t gotten back together, they had a mutual understanding.I am sure that with Rajiv’s involvement in this issue, Miracle would agree to help with my parent's plan. That is why I proposed this idea.“But let’s be honest here, Dad…” We went to their office for further privacy since this issue is getting more serious. We cannot let others, even our relatives know about our plans. “You don’t really have an intention of giving Miracle the throne, right?”He sighed. “I do have the intention of giving her the throne but you know your sister, Clea. She would rather drop her title than lead this country as its queen.”“So, you will just open a path to the next woman heir and use this situation to gather everyone to your side without any intervention from your siblings who were also eyeing the throne.”Yeah, that is his real reason. We can’t
