Clea Mair’s Pov

Geez!

I can’t believe this! It is not usual for me to oversleep, especially when I have to attend an important meeting.

Seriously, Clea Mair?

I prepared so much for all the materials that I will be using for this meeting, because this is a crucial moment for JFCC, yet I am going to be late.

Oh god!

But I am hoping that I can make it. I am sure that it will be such an embarrassment for the company where I work if I can’t close this deal.

As if I admit that I don’t deserve all the promotions that I got because I was late to this important meeting.

I looked at the phone that I am using for my work when it rang. The number was a bit familiar, so I immediately put on my earphones and answered the phone.

“This is Clea Mair, JFCC Commissary Manager,” I introduced myself. “How may I help you?”

“Hi, Miss Mair,” he greeted me. “I am Leon, Mr. Henan’s secretary.”

I felt nervous when I heard that and decided to park my car beside the road. Shit! Am I already late? Are they going to cancel my appointment with their CEO?

“Hi,” I tried my best to sound okay. “Is… is there something wrong? Am I already late for my appointment?”

“Oh, no,” he immediately said, which made me feel relieved. “Actually, I called to tell you that your meeting with Mr. Henan was moved to another location.”

I frowned. “What?”

“I am sorry for the inconvenience, Miss,” he said with an apologetic voice. “It is our fault, so please don’t worry even if you arrive there late. Mister Henan assured me that he will entertain your presentation no matter what happens.”

“Really?” Oh god! I guess I am still lucky, even though I almost blew this opportunity.

“Yes, Miss,” he said. “Mr. Henan has an urgent meeting at Yain City, and he is expecting you to meet him there. He will wait for you at the store named SweetHeart.”

Shit! Yain City? "That was on the other side of the country.”

“You are right, Miss,” he answered. “I am really sorry for this sudden issue. But you don’t have to worry. Mr. Henan advised us to prepare our transportation. You can go straight to our office, and our chopper will bring you straight to Yain City.”

“Oh.” Well, I guess I don’t have to worry about that. “Okay, thank you so much.”

At least, they prepared a way for me to go to Yain City without much hassle of booking an emergency flight.

“I will be there in ten minutes. Thank you.” I ended the call and drove my car towards their office. I still need to show them that I’m desperate to get this deal, so I maximized my speed a little bit.

As I said, I arrived in front of Henan Shipping Company in exactly ten minutes. I parked my car and gave the key to one of their staff who was waiting for me, and followed another one who guided me to their helipad at the back of the building.

And I was greeted by a man in a suit as he smiled at me. “Hello, Miss Mair.” He offered his hand in front of me. “I am Leon, the one that you spoke to on the phone.”

I accepted his hand and shook it. “Nice to meet you, Mister Leon.”

He chuckled and let go of my hand. “Please, just call me Leon,” he said. “Anyway, the pilot is already there. You may ride the chopper now. We also prepare a company car that will be waiting for you when you land at Yain City. That will bring you to Mister Henan.”

I smiled and nodded. “Noted, Leon. Thank you so much for this.”

“No worries, Miss.” He helped me get inside the chopper and bowed before leaving, since the helicopter was already starting its engine.

And after a while, the helicopter started to ascend until it got stable in the air. Then, it flew in the direction of Yain City.

And since it will take time for us to arrive there, I started reviewing my presentation.

We are going to meet in a public place, so I had to focus on remembering all the details of my presentation to make sure that I’ll be able to convey everything to Mr. Henan.

This opportunity almost slipped out of my hands because of my carelessness, so I had to make sure that I wouldn’t blow it up again.

It took three hours for the chopper to arrive at Yain City. But we didn’t get the clearance to land immediately because the landing area is not a public zone, and there were a lot of people using their choppers to enter and exit the city.

And just like Leon said, their company car was waiting for me to bring me to where Mister Henan is right now. We took another two hours on the trip until we finally arrived at the pastry shop that was named SweetHeart.

I know this shop.

It has only been months since it became famous because of the unique pastry product that it serves. And I guess their name became known around the country because of the help of a famous influencer who accidentally discovered their shop.

But sad to say, they only serve their product around this city.

I took a deep breath before entering the shop. I looked around and I immediately saw the man sitting in the corner of the shop.

I have already seen him in the news and magazines, which is why I am aware of Mr. Andrel Henan’s looks.

With his good looks, a lot of women are doing their best to get his attention. They were even trying to include Henan Shipping Company in their schemes just to talk to him, and others were ready to set him up on different blind dates.

But none of them succeed.

Instead of them controlling that man, it was he who managed to control them by doing everything he wanted.

I walked in his direction.

He stood up and smiled when he saw me. “It is good to finally meet you, Miss Clea Mair.”
