Chapter 5

Clea Mair’s Pov

“Nice to meet you, Mister Andrel Henan.” I offered my hand in front of him. “Thank you for letting this meeting happen despite your sudden change of schedule.”

To be honest, they could have canceled this meeting, but they still put a lot of effort into bringing me here just for us to continue this meeting.

He accepted my hand and shook it. ”I should be the one thanking you for agreeing to meet me all the way here.” He let go of my hand, and we sat facing each other.

I put my things in the vacant seat beside me and looked at him.

“Let’s eat first,” he said and called the server. “I am sure, Leon didn’t offer you anything to eat while you were traveling.”

Well, I have been feeling hungry since I was still in the helicopter, and I don’t want to say anything to the staff that picked me up because it is embarrassing and it would surely delay our trip, so I will not reject his offer.

The staff of SweetHeart came to our table. “Welcome to SweetHeart. This is our menu.” She put the menu in front of us, and Mr. Henan took it.

Her uniform is a bit different from the server that I saw earlier, and I can’t help but wonder what her position is here. So, I lifted my head to look at her nameplate.

But my eyes widened when I saw her face.

She also turned her eyes on me and was shocked after seeing me. “W-what the hell?” She immediately covered her mouth and glanced over to Mr. Henan, who was also shocked by her reaction.

“Ahm…” She took a deep breath and smiled at him. “Sorry about the language, sir.”

“You know each other?” he asked while looking at me.

I nodded. “She is my sister who left our home three years ago,” I said. “And I didn’t expect to see her here.”

“You want to catch up for now?”

I shook my head. “We can do that later.” I looked at Miracle, my elder sister. “Let’s talk later, okay?”

She sighed and nodded, then looked at Mr. Henan again. “Please call me again when you decide what you will order. “And she left us.

“What a coincidence, huh?” he said. “Seeing your sister here, of all places.”

“Yeah,” I said. “I thought she was in Exor City. She has come a very long way.”

“You didn’t communicate with each other?”

“She is the most secretive among my siblings; that is why she always hides where she lives when she finally leaves our home,” I said. “So, she only called us using a public phone once in a while to let us know that she is okay.”

“Hmm.” He nodded and showed the menu to me. “Let’s decide what you are going to eat so we can order.”

I smiled and nodded.

I didn't expect to meet Miracle here, and to be honest, I want to talk to her, but I decided to focus my whole attention here because this is an important meeting.

It can wait. I don’t have anything else to do after this, and if I had to stay here for a couple of days just to talk to her, I would do it.

We just ordered some cake and a latte for me, while he ordered black coffee.

And while we were eating, I couldn’t help but check him out.

I still can’t believe that the hottest bachelor in the country is eating some cake in front of me. He looks so sexy in every bite he takes of that cake using those red lips.

If we base it on his looks, he is already a good catch. Let’s add that he is super rich and influential, not just in this country but also abroad.

And I admit it, I am also attracted to him, especially now that even if there was a table in between us, I could smell his perfume. And it was kind of hypnotizing me to be near him.

But of course, I am still sane, so I manage to stop myself before doing something inappropriate.

“Done checking me out?”

My eyes widened when I noticed that he was also staring at me, so I immediately averted my eyes from him. “Yeah.” Shit! Am I really an idiot for answering his question?

I just admitted in front of him that I am checking him out. Not that it is not true, but it is still embarrassing for him to know that.

I sighed and looked at him again. “Well, you can’t blame me, Mister Henan,” I said. “You are a good-looking guy who has these unique traits that charm any woman around you. So, it is normal for someone like me to check you out.”

A smile formed on his lips, and after a while, he bit his lips, and I almost lost my self-control.

Shit! Handsome and sexy!

This is too distracting! I might not do my job well in my presentation.

I took a deep breath a couple of times to calm myself.

I am used to seeing good-looking guys. I have met a lot, especially whenever I am roaming around the restaurants under JFCC. My boss is also handsome, and so are his friends.

But I was never like this to them.

So, I am sure that there is something in his charm.

I just felt relieved and finally calmed myself when Miracle arrived. She put our additional latte and black coffee, then she took the rest of the plates that we used.

“So, may we proceed to the main purpose of this meeting?” I asked.

“You don’t need to do any presentation, Miss Mair,” he said. “Just give me your proposal and I will read it.”

“W-what?” I said. “Will that be enough for you to let us rent one of your warehouses in your port?” I handed him the folder that contained my proposal. “And you will let our ship dock in your port?”

He smiled and accepted the folder. “This is just a formality, Miss Mair.”

I frowned. “What do you mean?”

“When you agreed to meet me here instead of asking for another appointment, that was already enough for me to give you a chance for that warehouse.”

“Eh?”

“This kind of situation frequently happens to me,” he said. “Whenever I have to go somewhere, even though I have an important appointment that I need to attend. And since I was so busy, instead of canceling the said appointment, I always asked them to meet me where I was at that time. And guess what?” He looked at me. “You are the only one who agreed on this kind of setup.”

“What about your previous clients?”

“They choose to set another appointment rather than get out of their way to meet me,” he said. “That is why I have already decided to approve your application to rent my warehouse at Henan Port.” He opened the folder that I handed in and immediately signed the form there.

Aside from the proposal, I have already put a contract of approval that I prepared. That will be the proof that he approved the JFCC’s application to rent the warehouse. Not just a chance to partake in the selection. It means that he already gave us that space to rent.

“Are you really serious about this, Mister Henan?” I asked. “We haven’t discussed how much our proposed rent will be. And you haven’t also stated your demand or rules on how we handle your warehouse. We still have so many things to discuss to draft the formal contract.”

He stood up and gave back the folder to me. “Do you intend to stay here longer to catch up with your sister, or are you going back to Teur City?”

“I was planning to stay,” I said.

“Then, let’s meet here again tomorrow,” he said. “Around lunchtime. We can discuss the other details of this agreement over lunch. Is that okay?” he asked. “Or your company will send someone else for that matter?”

I shook my head. “My superior trusted me with everything up until the contract signing, if we are lucky.” They even told me not to go back to work until I close this deal with the Henan Port.

“Then, tomorrow?”

I stood up and nodded. “Okay. See you tomorrow, Mister Henan.” I offered my hand again in front of him. “And thank you so much for your approval of this deal.”

He accepted my hand and shook it. “You work hard for it, Miss Mair.” he let go of my hand. “Anyway, I gotta go. Bye.” And he left.

And I couldn’t help but stare at his back until he finally entered his car.

I sat and took a deep breath while holding my chest.

Oh god! Please give me a lot of self-control. There is a possibility that I just attacked him and kissed his reddish lips.
