Eren

"Hayat..." A voice speaks to me from afar. "Wake up." My mind blurs back to consciousness but I rapidly turn to my left, refusing to break my precious sleep. 

"He is here."

At my father's words, my eyes spread wide. I turn on my back and find a pair of chocolate eyes looking at me.

"Arg, good morning." I sit on the bed and rub my eyes. "Even if there is nothing good on this morning." I groan tiredly.

My father chuckles lightly. "Come downstairs after you've freshen up. We all need to talk." He caresses my head and walks out of the room.

I couldn't sleep last night. I barely closed my eyes and now my father is already waking me up, announcing me that my bodyguard has arrived. Yesterday's evening traumatized me; a few anonymous calls and emails have demanded my father to deposit $10 million on their bank account, or they will kidnap me. 

Freaking out, my father and I went to the police office. They said they will do their best to find the culprit and meantime, they would be sending us a bodyguard. Effectively they did it, though the bodyguard was supposed to arrive here last night. Maybe if he was already here I would've been able to sleep.

Stupid old fellow.

Who wants to have an over serious man whom you will never see his teeth because he never smiles to be following you 24/7? They are all rigid in their suits without forgetting their precious earpiece.

Goodbye to the little liberty I had.

I will be nineteen soon and I was finally planning to have a boyfriend this year but unfortunately, I've to say goodbye to that also. Adios Azure. He is my long run crush, the brother of my friend Didem. Azure and I have just started to get along and we were finally planning to hang out but now I can't get out. I can't put my life in danger. It's as if destiny wants me to be imprisoned in this house forever.

Even before that, I was already the princess who was locked up in her tower. I was always tutored at home and I still am. That's the disadvantage of having a rich father. My father is named Leon Aiyer, the wealthiest man of the town. He is the owner of a flourishing insurance company. No wonder why those thieves want his money. After my mother died of cancer when I was ten, he has sunk himself in his work as an escape to his sadness. He is most of the time on voyage, leaving me under the care of a nanny. 

After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I quickly throw a grey t-shirt over my vest and slip into my everyday blue jeans. As I walk down the stairs, I tie my long chocolate hair into a ponytail but my hands freeze in my hair as my gaze lands on the model sitting on the black couch.

Oh damn. 

Is he my bodyguard?

I swallow back everything I have said.

He is strongly built, his black hair dark as midnight is messily swept back into a pompadour style, with a few pieces falling onto his forehead. He is of tanned skin which highlights his thin black beard on his chiseled jawline.

And then he bursts into laughter as my dad tells him some jokes, indent dimples popping out. The way his white teeth shows up with a tint of gleam as he smiles is definitely the most eye-catching beam I've ever seen.

If that guy is really my bodyguard, he just proved all my points wrong. No suit, no earpiece. Just a thick black leather jacket with grey jeans and black boots. I even saw his teeth. Okay I rectify, a bodyguard does smile.

I can't remain on the stairs while stalking them. I suck in a breath and walk down the remaining stairs.

"Hey." 

I say nervously, waving a little, cutting of their conversation.

They both look at me and quickly stand up. I immediately feel shorter. I am not short, but I am feeling like a dwarf compared to them. The model must be about 6 feet 3 inches, much taller than my father.

"Here she is." My dad says, walking to me. "Hayat."

The guy follows behind and stands in front of me. My eyes meet his and my stomach flips.

A pair of long lashed turquoise-coloured eyes. 

Gosh.

His curly eyelashes are so long and thick that they are casting shadow on his cheeks. He is definitely the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. 

He extends me his hand to shake which stops me from staring further. Nervously, I rapidly shake his hand, his touch soft and warm.

"Don't you remember him?" My father asks which snaps me back to reality.

Remember?

Confused, I look at the guy again and shake my head slowly, not knowing that face.

My dad smiles and rests a friendly hand on his shoulder. "He is the son of the woman who was nannying you when you were five. He used to come with her and you were both fond of playing with each other."

Oh.

"You were both saying you would marr-"

"I remember!" I send him a glare which hushes him immediately. He clears his throat, trying to get rid of the embarrassment he has created.

Oh god, I remember him. Eren. That Eren. He was my first and childhood crush and my best friend. His mother looked after me for one year and then she sadly died out of cancer. So he stopped coming. I was so devastated at that time that I promised to stay a widow. The funny thing is that I've as if actually stayed a widow. I have never dated someone.

Blushing a little, I take a look at Eren and find him already staring at me with squint eyes. "I remember you." He lets out, fixing my face with his intense eyes. The sound of his husky voice makes my whole body vibrate.

My childhood friend is my bodyguard. Oh god.

"Don't worry, they will find the culprit soon." Eren assures us, glancing at me. We have been sitting on the couch and had some serious talks for almost an hour. I now feel a bit relieved. Everything will go on smoothly, I'm sure. Or nearly sure.

My father gets up from the sofa, groaning like an old man. "Okay so, continue talking, I'm going to prepare my suitcase. See you later Eren."

My eyes grow wide. "Suitcase?" I burst out. Don't tell me he is leaving me! "Where are you going, dad?" 

He smacks his forehead. "I thought I already told you."

My mouth feels dry at what I'm going to hear.

"I'm so sorry Hayat." He comes back to sit beside me on the couch and takes my hands. "I've got different important meetings in London this month. I'm going tonight. I know you are thinking of me as a bad father for leaving you in such a situation but I really can't do otherwise. The meetings were already planned last week, I can't cancel them at the last minutes. The businessmen have already booked their tickets and some have even already flown to London this morning." He explains me, sounding apologetic.

I've heard this numerous times. It's not the first time. I'm used to it. He even once left the morning of my birthday. His work is more important than me, more important than the fact I got a kidnapping menace.

"Okay. I understand." I simply say, not looking at his face. 

I thought he would notice that I'm pissing him off, but astonishingly, he kisses my head. "Thank you baby."

Breathe Hayat. Breathe.

"Did you already call Sarah? Or should I call her?" I ask grumpily my blinded father as he gets up from the sofa. Sarah is the thirty year old woman who stays with me at nights when my father goes on business trips.

My dad looks at me quizzically and then looks at Eren who is silently sitting on the sofa. "We don't need her now. Eren is here."

Eren?!

I glance at him and see him secretly smirking. I'm turning paranoiac. Why would he smirk?

"As usual the maid will be here to do the clean up and the cooking during the day." My father tells me casually. "Your tutor will also be here. Eren will be already staying at our place, so we don't need to call the nanny just for the nights." 

I fake a smile at him. Even if Eren and I were best friends when we were kids, we are now complete strangers. I doubt that we will be able to get that connection back. But wow! My dad wants me to spend my nights alone with that hot guy!

Okay, I've always been the single lady. It's a bit normal that I feel attracted to him .

Wait. I'm attracted to him?

I look at Eren as he is talking to my father. How can someone look so good? He was certainly the first one in the line when god was distributing beauty features.

My eyes fall on his plump pink lips as his tongue quickly dart out to wet them.

Oh god, his lips.

I never thought I would say that one day, but seriously, his lips!

His lustrous lips are the call for an amorous adventure.

Okay. I'm definitely attracted to him.

And I will be home alone with him.
