Danika

"Danika! Pay attention!" Mr Saunders shouts while I'm staring out the Maths classroom window. "Maybe if you paid attention your marks would be better." He scolds me with a smug look on his face. I hate this man. He just grates my tits. The whole class starts whispering and getting ready for a brawl.

"Better than my 93% year average, Mr Saunders?" He ask sarcastically. Everyone is oooing at that.

"Miss Giovanni, I will not tolerate back talk in my class! I think you should go and cool off outside for a while, think about why what you did was wrong." He stares me down and opens the door. I gladly pick up my stuff and walk out.

"Maybe in that time you will have thought about why your answer on the board was wrong? It's 3 not 79. Brackets first." I say sweetly before walking out the door. Mr Saunders slams the door shut and it hits me on my backside.

If only we could have another maths teacher but in such a small town there aren't many options for teachers.

Barkers is a small central town situated between 3 of the areas biggest packs.

1st there are There are the Radners AKA the bloods. They do not tolerate anything out side of the rules and are willing to shed as much blood as necessary to ensure that.

2nd are The Paulers AKA the partiers. They are lax and only care about having a good time and the family/community vide in their pack

And 3rd are the Hailers AKA all bow down. They are the strongest pack in the world and the most liberal in the area. With very few rules, they are somehow the most peaceful pack.

Where do I fit? Cheshire Cats. Well that's what all the pack members call the rouges. They think just because we don't have a pack, we're not all there.

The halls are silent, the only sound are my footsteps and the echos of teachers in classes. I head out to the one spot I cherish the most. Sitting on the neat lawns in the school gardens and taking out my book and pencil to make notes in the margins. This story always engulfs me and whisks me away to wonderland.

Ragged footsteps and the sound of sloshing liquid pulls me out of the borrowed world. I look up to see a rough around the edges Aidan Gabriels. I also notice the liquid gold in his bottle. He must be out here to do the same thing I'm doing - Escape the world. I didn't realise I said anything until his eyes locked on mine.

No turning back now.
