It's been two months since I've moved into the pack house with Aidan. Everything has been going smoothly ever since. I've been studying under Luna Leigh-Anne to take over when Aidan and I have to take over from her and Alpha Markus. I haven't had any more incidents with Hadley because of my two body guards, Sky and Adrian (the same ones that come shopping with me). They follow me everywhere which I don't mind except when it's trying to come into the girls bathroom. I wouldn't say we're friends but we all have a mutual respect for each other. I've drifted apart from Addy, we all have. She's under so much stress and won't let any of us help her. Poor Nick is going out of his mind. (Everyone seems to think their mates but I'm not so sure about it.) I have grown closer to Chiara. She has always been and will continue to be one of my favourite people. It's my birthday in a few days and we're having a ball to celebrate.

"Ow!" The makeup artist pinches my cheek for the up tenth time today. The party is gorgeous. My dress is gorgeous and, despite all the poking and pinching, my hair and make up are gorgeous. I wake in the middle of the night tossing and turning. I have a raging headache and I’m so hot. I throw the duvet off and I’m still hot. Maybe it’s because of Aidan. Stupid wolves and their internal heating. So I throw his arm off of me and half-kick half-roll him away with my foot. Nope. Still hot. And it’s starting to get uncomfortable, like the heat is coming for under my skin and trying to melt me from the inside out.I can’t handle this. Getting up I head to the bathroom for a cold shower. The closer I get to the bathroom, the worse the burning fire gets and the foggier my brain gets. "Trynna Escape the world too?" Such an arbitrary thing to say and yet it just tumbled out of my mouth. His chocolate brown eyes latch onto mine and he refuses to let go. It’s almost as if he’s searching for something in my eyes. Then just as suddenly as he latched on, he looks away. He takes a deep breath and runs his hand though his hair while raising the bottle in defeat. "Something like that. And you?" He doesn’t look me in the eye as he speaks. "Something like that." I repeat. "However, I find it best not too run to the bottom of a bottle." This is not my place, let it go! But he’s the one to keep it going this time. "And I find it best not to chain myself to someone else's world." He retorts. "Fair enough." I say and carry on with my reading, twirling my pencil in my fingers until I need it. I thought that would be the end of this strange encounter but Aidan had other plans. He stared down at my book.
