(Karis's pov)

"Don't look her way. It will seem like you feel guilty." Xander muttered to me. My head turned to look at him. He didn't glance at Emma and completely ignored Mr Armani. Did he do it because of me?

"Where are the drinks you left to get?" I asked him because he didn't have a single glass. "I gave it to someone else."

Xander's reply was short. I wondered why he decided to help me. Was it to keep his image? The banquet was about to start so we went to our table.

I beckoned for a waiter to bring me a glass of cocktail. The waiter had already approached us, but he stopped in his tracks. I turned towards Xander with a disapproving frown. He was scaring the Waiter with his sharp gaze.

"She won't be having any drinks," Xander said with a stoic expression leaving no room for arguments. The waiter fretted away, leaving us alone.

"Why did you do that?" I snapped at him pissed at how he was controlling my life. He was not the boss of me.
