Summer Brooke swiftly followed Lucien as he made his way through the winding streets of London.
She felt exhausted. She could feel the rising tension in Lucien and couldnt quite make out why he was acting so strangely.
"Something doesnt feel right" He had said to her only a couple of hours before.
The glittering sparkles of sunrise had just started to appear between the builldings which cast moving shadows on the ground.
Humid air started to hit her as she quickened her pace to try and keep up with Lucien through the growing moving crowds. The tension in the air was evident amongst the commuters, the tourists were snapping away contented at the historic sights, unaware of the atrocities and panic that was escalating around them.
People were crowding together with an evident growth in panic
"We need to find out what is happening" Lucien said turning to her
Summer nodded in anticipation

Time seemed to stand stillAll Jake could do was watch as the manifestation that had taken shape around her fizzled out. Reality swamped back, sound came like a tidal wave attacking his ears, his vision that was once blurred, now sharpened and remained focused on the carnage that continued to surround him. As his eyes turned to Summer, he realized with immense embarrassment that she was staring awkwardly back at him with a slow startling realisation that it was him. Not quite sure what to do, Jake remained still, the feeling of guilt and sadness swept over him. He had got her into this mess. He had betrayed and abandoned her. Again.Tears filled her eyes as her lip quivered in total devastation. She slowly made her way towards him, slithering through the crowd. She had grown in confidence and looked incredibly beautiful in a haunting kind of way, he thought. She stopped suddenly, only feet away from him.“
Jake took hold of Summer's hand before she or Lucien could react and pulled her forcefully through the panicking crowd. He knew the werewolves wouldnt be far behind but took this unique chance to get her to his master to turn the tide on the ever growing war that he knew would only get worse.Summer seemed in a daze, not truly understanding or caring what was happening.Jake pulled her through endless streets until they came upon a beautiful old church.Jake unlatched the Black Iron Gate with a creak and walked up the rustling silent path. The gigantic trees that towered above the old church cast out branches like withering limbs that blocked out any kind of sunlight. The dead brown leaves fell mercilessly on their heads as they passed. The door emerged out of the shadows with its peeling white paint and green patches of damp. As they stepped up the crumbling steps which climbed unevenly to the door, the church seemed to trem
Summer’s fingers shook as she slowly unbuttoned his shirt from the top by his throat. She could feel the warmth of his breath on her neck and knew that he was fighting the urge to bite her. He remained motionless, waiting for her to move further. She could feel the tension increase as she slowly made her way down, gradually releasing each button to display his muscular chest. Her eyes were transfixed by an emerging tattoo. On his sternum was tired tree branches that spread off in every direction. As she pushed her hand to open more of his shirt the patterns changed towards his arms which took a haunted vein and shattered glass appearance. On the end of some of the branches had numerous names, some in different languages. Summer gently brushed her fingers over them.A sharp intake of breath signalled that Andrei was losing all self-restraint. His hands tightened around Summer’s waist.“What are these names” Summer whisperedShe
As the clock on the wall finally struck midnight, Elizabeth Autumn finally gave an exhausted yawn. She had been working continuously on the new information she had found only hours before. It had been a real breakthrough, a stroke of genius to compare the fibres with old age rituals. At least the human detectives would go along with this line of enquiry. She could not release her real identity or why she was sent to work within this position. She leant heavily against the huge metal basin, her legs were aching and her eyes desperately wanted to shut. Her colleague had taken a rather desperate and angry call from one of the detective inspectors only an hour before she had stopped writing up the report. In all honesty she had forgotten to update the officers that had visited her, and she knew that Smith would be proper pissed off. As her thoughts dreamed of retiring into her soft double bed, the heavy white doors to the laboratory were pushed
The day gave away to night by the time Summer had made her way through the dark imposing tunnels that led from the church. She briskly walked round the curved corner and came face to face with the Royal Park. The chaos had all but diminished, only a few locals were standing exchanging information about the carnage that had taken place the night before. Blue police tape surrounded the gates and fences with evident forensic activity happening. This was not going to be easy.Summer quickly jogged to the fence and with one great push flung herself over. She speedily looked around to make sure no one had spotted her trespassing. Luckily, she was concealed but could immediately sense someone was following her. Ducking into bushes she remained deathly quiet until the swiftness of night came fully. White flashes erupted through the black sky. Rain plummeted to the ground like a monsoon. Then just as quickly as they had come
He knew this was the start. The beginning of the end. He had been offered a deal he possibly could not refuse. And the reward for his services? Immortality The thought echoed in his mind. What more could he want? He trembled with excitement and anticipation. It was of course a shock when ‘they’ had approached him and opened up to him, telling him what they were and what they wanted. He was afraid at first as their dirty and ghostly appearance shocked him into a silent terror. These things were of myth and legend how could they be possibly real? He remembered those piercing yellow eyes how they looked straight through him and seemed to penetrate his inner thoughts. The ground had almost appeared to shake and move beneath him as he stood there watching them in horrific fascination. He blinked allowing himself to check if this truly was real. Closing his eyes he cleared his mind. His thoughts tumbled
A horrific scream tore through the fabric of sound and pulsed through the elegant, peaceful streets. Amongst the growing shadows heads turned to and fro in a frantic panic to locate the gurgled wail that contaminated their realm. The radiant one stood aghast as he peered down at the abomination that continued to shred its victim. A diamond tear appeared and illuminated his heavenly sculptured features. His marble hand drew to his azure tinted eye and caressed the tiny pearl of water. He stood momentarily studying this foreign emotion. He loathed this earthly dimension, it bought the worst out in him. He cast his eyes down again to the scene that appalled him. The creature had now been disturbed and bolted through the street and dived into the sewage tunnels. He watched contently as the naïve humans gathered, screaming in unison at the vision that appeared before him. He knew that he must report back to his divine leader. Th
The sound of a ringing sensation pulsating through ear drums woke Summer Brooke from her peaceful daydream. As her eyes finally began to focus, the masses of her clueless classmates stood from their weathered lecture seats, and started to shuffle out of the lecture theatre. Her professor, a middle aged woman, plump and short stared venomously at her. “Miss Brooke, can you come here please, I need to speak to you before you leave” her voice bellowed. Summer knew what this was about, that she had not completed any of her psychology study project or work expereince for the past 3 weeks. How possibly could she? Her mum needed her more now then ever since the covid pandemic and losing her job. Her mum had spiralled into a deep sadness that no matter how hard she tried to make her laugh or do things for her, it always resulted in her mums depression returning. Summer's younger sister did not quite help or support the situation. Spending herself lock
