Ever A Never After: Prologue

Cassie smiled weakly when she heard the cry of the baby. 

Her daughter was alright, and at that moment that was all that mattered.

And she would do anything she could to keep it that way.... 

No one was going to take her baby away from her...no one at all.

"Listen to me Jane. You better not breath a word of this to anyone.... Or else I will strangle you. Do you hear me? I will kill you if you mess with me". Nathaniel muttered pulling up her trousers in a haste.

She had lain on the bed, clutching the sheet tightly to her chest and just staring at her step brother. 

Monster!!

She had no doubt that Nathaniel would carry out his threats though, everyone knew that he was a thouth. 

She felt strong tears threatening to escape from her eyes, but she had held them back stubbornly. She wasn't going to cry before him again. It would not do any good.

She had cried, sobbed and pleaded with him as he forcefully took what she didn't give. As he forcefully took her virginity away from her. 

The deed had already been done. She sure wasn't going to cry before him again.

Nathaniel buckled his belt and grinned wolfishly at her

"Remember my warning little one. Don't think you can even escape my wrath because I will kill you with my bare hands." He said again and Jane just ignored him totally...... Staring at the window and just waiting for him to leave the room.

When he did, she broke down in tears, burying her face in the blood stained blanket and cursing her condition.

Danielle was taking her first steps.

Cassie watched her daughter with pride and pure love swelling in her heart as she took a few steps....or u could say staggered towards her, with a wide grin that showed her four teeth.

Danielle looked nothing like her dad, and that made Cassie happy. She had Cassie's eyes, hair color and nose.

"Come on baby....come on love, come to mama" She cooed stretching her arms wider, but the baby already decided that she couldn't have any more work out for the day.

Cassie just laughed as she landed on her butt stretching her arms to her mother.

"You lazy baby" She said swooping her up into her arms and giving her a kiss.

She looked around her sitting room feeling very proud of herself.

The past two years have been hectic for them, but she was very proud of where they were and where she knew they were heading to.

Her life had began the moment she looked at that pregnancy test and saw Positive on it. At that moment, she knew that she had to fight not just for herself, but for her unborn baby.

And fight she had. She had done lots of things just to escape Nathaniel and her mother. From running away and faking her death, to changing her identity completely... getting new IDs and everything.

Her journey was a tough one... but she wasn't fighting for herself.

She wasn't the scared little Janie anymore.

She had her baby girl, and that was her only source of strength
