Se connecterLucas Fenrir was the son of the Alpha of the Silvertail Pack, born as the pack's greatest pride. When his Luna and first love, Nara Boris, chose to leave, he married me in a fit of rage—the most unremarkable Omega in the pack. Everyone said I was just a substitute for Nara. They were waiting to see me abandoned, to see me cry, and to see me beg on my knees. Nonetheless, I always smiled and calmly fulfilled Lucas' every demand. I helped him stabilize the pack's morale, stood up for him in public, and even defended him against the rumors that he had rekindled his past romance with Nara. Until one day, I saw him on the streets during the Moon Goddess Festival. He was holding Nara, kissing her deeply. Meanwhile, I simply turned my head away in silence from behind the crowd and pretended I saw nothing. A few months later, I was diagnosed with wolfsbane poisoning that had spread to my nervous system. My condition was beyond saving. I was admitted to the ICU of the pack's hospital, with only a few days left to live. Lucas came when he heard the news. His eyes were bloodshot as he roared and grabbed my dying body. "Why didn't you tell me? Why are you trying to die alone in secret?" I looked at his unhinged expression, my gaze as gentle as it had always been. There was even a faint mocking smile curling at my lips. "Lucas, I've never loved you. "The one I loved… was actually your twin brother—Derrick."

Damn I shouldn't have gotten that wasted last night, knowing I'll be in a meeting with my dad in less than two hours.Groaning, I turn to switch my alarm clock off and drag myself underneath the shower. Usually, I don't mind getting up early in the morning, but I guess I had a few too many glasses of whiskey last night. If it hadn't been for my best mate Tyler's 25th birthday, I would have kept myself under control.Well be it, now I need to get through the day with a pounding head, which will probably double up as soon as I get into that meeting with my dad, fuck. Trust my friends to make sure I lose control for once, telling me to ease up. That's what I get from it.Not to mess up my pants and white button up shirt, I decide to have breakfast before getting dressed. Knowing I've screwed my training plan a bit this week with the burgers and and drinks last night, I decide to choose a decent nutrition this morning a bowl of porridge, with mixed fruit and some nuts. After work I'm definitely going to hit the gym tonight.Sipping down my coffee, my phone vibrates in front of me. Without even looking I know it's my dad or my secretary.Dad: Don't forget the meeting it's important! And don't be late!Since when have I ever missed a meeting or been too late? I have no idea why he even reminds me of this shit. I've been leading half of that god damn company for nearly two years now. Before he gives me a call I quickly decide to respond, don't need to hear his voice at 6:30 in the morning.Me: I'll be there as always!I grew up in this company, even during highschool I was already working into my position. As soon as I left college my name was signed up on the company and I was already working out my own new branches. Even if my dad and I share the same building, it's more like cooperating than leading one company. He has his sections and I have mine, which I mostly even emerged myself.I hurry up to get into my grey dress pants, white button up shirt and dark red tie. As I know my tatts show off a little under the white shirt I add my tailored slim fitted matching jacket, to cover it up. My dad wouldn't appreciate them showing during a meeting with the whole headboard even if those suckers work under me.Shortly, I wonder about taking another coffee for during my ride to work, but no way am I risking spilling some coffee in my Porsche. Threading through the traffic of London is terrible, and with my head already being at edge, it's not exactly helping, and I'm not known to be the most patient person.I bib my horn full of anger as a fucking red Mustang cuts my line to thread in in front of me, causing me to get the next red traffic lights. Even if I still have plenty of time left, people like that piss me off.Entering my park deck at our main tower, I can't believe my eyes. That fucking red Mustang has just entered my parking lot. Not cutting off the engine, I tear my door open and walk in a fast pace over to the idiot who has just taken my parking lot. The door opens, and to my surprise, the idiot is a young woman who is about to step out of the car."Hey bad enough you don't know how to drive your car decently, but this is my fucking parking lot, so move." My voice is stern and definitely letting her know how pissed off I am right now.Her head bops up, and for a short second, I can see a confused look on her face until her eyes dart over to my car.She straightens her back as she stands in front of me. My eyes automatically start scanning her body, but her oversized coat gives nothing away. Nothing that would distract me from her stealing my parking lot anyway."Get back into that car and fucking move." I tell her with my full authority lacing my voice, letting her know I am not putting up with this shit. Her face turns into a cocky smirk as she answers. "Hey, first of all I didn't see any sign up, on this parking lot, saying that it belongs to someone. And secondly look who's talking about driving decently. You drive a fucking Porsche, don't drive it like an old grannys car. That poor thing needs to be treated right. I knew exactly what I was doing. Or do you see any damage on any of our cars?"Did she just say I'm driving like an old granny? She can't have seriously just said that."There's no damage because I slammed the breaks and know how to drive. And there doesn't have to be a fucking sign on that parking lot, as everyone here knows who I am and that it's mine."I can't believe I am arguing with this obviously spoiled brat over a parking lot. Daddy probably bought her the car for her birthday or something, and she is used to getting whatever she wants with bashing her eyelashes. Not with me."Well as long as there's no sign up, I don't fucking care. There's a parking lot free only three cars further guess your smart spoiled ass can take those ten steps further."While my blood is boiling at the audicity of this bitch, she simply turns around to walk away. No way! I grab hold of her wrist my voice rising."Do you have any idea, who the hell you are talking to?"She doesn't seem fazed at all, instead she swats my hands off, walks on and only turns her head to me while gritting out. "I don't care who the fuck you are, but touch me once more and you'll get to know me. And now I have work waiting for me."With that she walks away and leaves me panting and seething in anger behind, watching her long ginger coloured ponytail swaying from side to side. Who the hell does she think she is? No one has ever dared to speak up to me like that. Getting back into the car, I can't believe I am retrieving my car and taking it to the free parking lot she refered to.It's not like it hurt me to walk these ten extra steps. No it's the fact that she took mine and had the audicity to stay put even after I demanded for her to move is what's making me really angry.Knowing my temper isn't exactly the best, I decide to drop by the coffee machine first before heading to my office to pick up my notebook and all the needed papers for the meeting. As always, Gina is already waiting in front of it, making googly eyes. She seems so damn desperate. If she wasn't such a good secretary, I would have fired her a long time ago."You prepared for the meeting, Mr Arlington?" She asks me in her high-pitched voice, giving me even more headache."If my dad hasn't changed everything last minute again, then I should be just fine. Just hand me some aspirin, please. Oh, and Gina, please stop with this Mr Arlington shit, I am not my dad. How often do I need to repeat it to you?""I'm sorry, Dean, it's just you are... you know..." God, can she please shut up. I cut her stuttering off, and I am nearly sure I saw her almost drooling while saying my name."It's fine Gina, just get me that aspirin."While waiting for her, I see Trish walking down the hall, swaying her hips as soon as she notices me. "Good morning, Dean." She nearly whispers while passing me. Which I know is supposed to sound seductive. She's been trying it ever since I started here. As simple answer I nod and add a "Trish", if I said anymore to her, it would be impossible to get her off my back, and that's the last thing I need before the meeting.Gina finally hands me two aspirin and a glass of water. Picking up my needed stuff again, I head across the building to our meeting room. Even with being fifteen minutes early, the room is already well filled. What catches my eye in an instant is the person sitting next to my dad with the back to me, with the long ginger hair tied back neatly into a ponytail. What the hell is she doing here? The wedding day finally arrived. I sat in front of the live stream, waiting. On screen, Lucas wore a white tuxedo, looking like a prince out of a fairy tale as he extended his hand toward Nara.Hand in hand, they walked down an aisle blanketed in red roses, with petals falling from the sky. They exchanged rings and whispered their vows. The romance was so suffocating it felt unreal. That was when it happened. The massive screen behind them suddenly began to play a video. It showed a secret chamber. Lucas, younger than he was now, was speaking with a nobleman from the Sirius Wolf Pack. I had thoughtfully added subtitles, just in case the guests could not hear clearly.Lucas and the nobleman were striking a deal. They were exchanging resources to help each other seize the Alpha title of their respective packs. Then, Derrick barged into the chamber. I had never seen him that furious before. He pointed straight at Lucas' face, shouting in rage, "Lucas! What you're doing will make
My voice brimmed with pride like that of a true victor. "Nara, even though Lucas chose you, he promised to give me the diamond ring from the safe. What can I say? He's too sentimental. Even after divorcing, he still insists on giving me the best. Honestly, I suspect he never loved you at all. Maybe he just… pities you."Nara was instantly provoked, and she gritted her teeth in fury. "Elena, when it comes to dealing with men, you'll never beat me. Just wait. That diamond ring will be mine and mine alone!"In her mind, love was measured in material things. That was why she had been pushing Lucas to buy her all kinds of extravagant jewelry. Hence, the ownership of that diamond ring was undoubtedly the ultimate symbol of triumph in her eyes.My body was frail, but my spirit was unusually energized. The hunt was about to begin.I had installed several hidden cameras throughout the house, all accessible from my phone.Through the app, I watched as Nara clung to Lucas, pouting and cooing
Lucas tried to pull his hand away, but I held him in place, refusing to let him move.Nara pressed her lips together in silence while I gave a soft smile."Lucas, when we were kids, Nara always wanted to play with you. You must've known she was bullying me all along, right? If you don't want a divorce, fine. Then do something for me. Kick her out of our house and take back everything you gave her."Why did so many people resent Nara and mock her when she returned to the Silvertail Pack?It was because she had always looked down on others, trampling over them without a second thought. If she left Lucas and lost his protection now, she would fall into hardship again.Nara panicked, and she started shaking her head furiously."No! Please, no! Lucas, I can't live without you. I'll die, I really will! I was young and foolish back then. I'm sorry. Elena, I'm truly sorry."She dropped to her knees in front of my hospital bed without hesitation. Tears poured from her eyes, making her lo
I stayed in the hospital for a week. Leah told me that Lucas had been searching for me everywhere, nearly going mad.At last, he found me lying in the hospital bed. His eyes were bloodshot, but it was hard to tell whether it was from anger or sorrow. His voice was rough and hoarse as he asked, "Late-stage cancer? Why didn't you tell me? Hah, Elena Whitlock, were you planning to die without telling me?"I smiled. "Of course not. I still need to divorce you."I then handed him the mate bond termination form I had long prepared. He froze in silence for a moment, then let out a cold laugh as if I had betrayed him in the worst possible way."You were gone for a whole week, and I searched for you like a madman. While I looked for you, I was also afraid you'd come back and feel sad again, so I cared for that tree every day. And now, you're telling me… you want a divorce?"He reached out, gripped my waist, and leaned down until our noses nearly touched. "Elena, do you even have a heart? H
