When the invasion started, the voice empowered its most loyal servants with unimaginable power that would allow them to dominate all life on Earth.
These entities were called conduits, humans with a direct connection to the omnipresent voice.
But the chosen were limited both in numbers and strength.
The voice wanted new creatures to follow its bidding to quicken the invasion so it gave the conduits the ability to turn the creatures of Earth into monsters that followed their every whim.

The ability to manipulate psionic energy allows the user to be able to do anything. This is not a metaphor or figure of speech. Someone with enough control and psionic power can warp reality to fit their needs, no matter how crazy their desires are.
