Katherine's POV

“I'm done, Reynold. Let's get a divorce.” I had stopped Reynold before he went out to work, handing over the paper in my hand. It was about time. The years of maltreatment had to end eventually. I guess Layla had won. But the words had come out right and I felt good within.

Reynold stared at me, he darted his gaze from me to the paper. A grin followed. “You're bluffing right?”

“And why the hell would I joke about something like this?”

“Because you will be nothing without me, Katherine. If we get divorced, you do know what's going to happen to you, right?” Reynold bragged while he fixed his tie.

I stiffened with anger. I knew.

“I'm not scared or ashamed to go back to my family.”

“Maybe you're not scared or ashamed but do you think they'd easily accept their prodigal daughter back?”

“Not everyone has a heart of stone like yours, Reynold.” I said, and he seemed challenged by the way he now glared at me.

“Fine.”He said curtly. I handed him the paper, he took it from me, still glaring at me. “I'll sign it when I get to the office.”

“No. Do it now. I'm leaving this house today.”

“You can't be serious, Katherine. What if something happens to Layla and the unborn child and you're not here to…”

“I'm done with all that bullshit, Reynold. Sign the fucking papers, now.”

Reynold said nothing but stared at me, confusion etched on his face. It was his first time seeing me act and yell so boldly at him because I had been the wife that said yes to everything and never complained or questioned his orders.

Suddenly a voice interrupted, “Go on, sign it Reynold.” His mother said, descending from the stairs with the pregnant Layla behind her.

“There are so many blood donors out there in the world for Layla. We don't need this barren thing.” She said but only if she knew how hard it was to find blood types like mine.

Layla joined in, “Your mum is right, Reynold. Do it and let her go already. She's actually doing me a huge favor.” Layla smirked in my direction.

I rolled my eyes at them, turning back to Reynold. “Go on. Do what your mom tells you to do. Mummy's boy.”

“Don't you dare.” Reynold felt offended. He takes a moment before taking out a pen in his pocket to sign on the papers.

I snatched the paper from him afterwards, walking towards the stairs as I walked past his mother and Layla.

It wasn't hard getting my stuff packed up. I had just a little luggages and my best friend, Elle, had volunteered to help me out after I told her I finally divorced Reynold. She was so proud of me and I wished deep down that my family would feel the same way and accept me back after so many years.

I had dragged my bags outside on my own without anyone's help. And perfect timing, Elle's ride arrived.

Elle in her orange tank top and fashionable black pants that matched her lovely black silk hair came out of the car. “Babes.” She approached me with outstretched arms. I reached for her and hugged her. “You finally did it.” she muttered proudly.

“Well, it took me so long.” I said, smiling at her.

“Let me help you with those.” Elle volunteered. She rode two luggages towards the car while I was about to ride the last one but Reynold stopped me. A white envelope in his hand.

“Here, have it.” He threw it at me but it landed on the floor and I got to see that there was some money in it.

“It's your share from the divorce. You're lucky I'm not as evil as you say I am.”

I scoffed. “And I'm supposed to say thank you?”

Reynold sticks his hand into his pocket, “Well yes. Because I know you'll badly need that money after your family disowns you for the second time.”he spoke so confidently, so certain that I was doomed without him.

I picked the envelope from the ground. “Here is how I say thank you then.” I took out the money from the envelope. Reynold, his mother and Layla who had suddenly stepped into our midst watched me as I tore every dollar note to pieces and threw it in the air with a smile on my face.

“She's crazy.”Layla exclaimed in shock.

“How dare you bitch tear my son's money like that? You ungrateful thing.” Reynold's mum tried to approach me but Reynold stopped her. Elle was by my side now.

“Kat, we are all set to go,”Elle announced.

I tuck my golden platinum hair between my ears, looking at them. “I’ll be back to take every single thing I ever gave you and your wretched family.”

Reynold laughed in mockery. “I’ll wait for that day to come. And it just might never come, you know.”

“We'll see about that.”I said and with that, Elle and I left Reynold's compound.

Katherine's POVThis was the end game. Worse had come to worst, and I didn’t need anyone to tell me—I was the fucking loser in this game. But it felt like more than just a game—I had lost everything. The company—my inheritance—my supposed shot at happiness. I’d lost my peace of mind because there was a raging storm in my head, and the only way I’d found a little quiet was by locking myself in ever since it happened.Willow’s Company, solidly built by my parents for decades, was officially Raynall’s now. That son of a bitch had kicked me out after showing me undeniable proof that he now legally owned it.I closed my eyes tightly and let the tears fall—down my cheeks and into my ears. I lay flat on the bed, my gaze fixed on the ceiling. I was in my bedroom at Elle's apartment. It was dimly lit, and my phone kept ringing. I didn’t care who it was—I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to speak to anyone. That included Ryan.Suddenly, there was a knock—Elle again. She’d been trying to get me

Ryan's POV I had single handedly written the rules in the contract to my taste. And one of the rules was. No strings attached, no physical contact in this fake contract Marriage but here I was, fucking her like I did last time. There's no going back, I'm fucking her hard and she's moaning from real pleasure this time. I love the way she calls out my name, with grave passion, better than the other women have ever moaned my name. Her eyes are closed but I'm watching her and thrusting myself, in and out of her. She's beautiful. That's all I could think of at that moment. Then I finally pull out. We both gasp for air, lying side by side each other. “We just broke a rule in the contract.” She tells me, instead of putting the blame on just me who kissed her first. “I'm aware.” I stared into her hazel eyes. She has lovely eyes. But I look away because something feels weird within me whenever I look at her. I hate the feeling. “We should never do this again.” She says, staring at no

But I'm clueless on my end.Raynall had upgraded from being my little orphan cousin to becoming a big shot—and the only reason he's a big shot is because my parents gave him the privilege to become one.It took me weeks to finalize an appointment with him, even though I was family. Chapter 9 Katherine's POV “Here we are.” Ryan announced gently. My thoughts immediately shifted from the hurtful memory in my mind and was occupied by the presence of the beautiful mansion in front of us. Ryan swirled the wheel, making a turn towards a glowing blue fountain. We were at his grandfather's mansion and it was exactly what I expected it to look like. Tall, towering, not all white like I had imagined it to be but painted with a mix of grey. It had a balcony at the rooftop, and a secluded space that occupied, probably a hot bathtub. Ryan finally parked the car and I watched some security guards in black suits walk towards us from a distance. “Your grandfather stays alone?” I asked “Yes.” “And your grandmother?” “Never met her, the same goes for my parents.”He answered, looking straight ahead. I nod. He disclosed so much about himself without saying so much. I couldn't relate, or tell how it must have been hard for him to live without his parents. “Any

  • Ex Wife's Revenge, Make him Regret    Chapter 8

Katherine's POV The day had gone by so fast. I returned to Elle's apartment instead of going back to my parents house. Although my mum called to know where I was. Elle was pissed with me some hours ago and now we're discussing Ryan DeVille. A subject matter I never intended on discussing with her in the first place but I eventually told her everything because I knew how much gossip and men made her excited. She forgave me instantly. “You're going to do it right?” Her blue eyes glowed questioningly with excitement and her legs were kept in a yoga pose as she chewed on some nacho cheese. “I don't think so.” I answered as I laid on my back. My hand beneath my head as I stared at the ceiling. She sighed, raising her head towards the ceiling in frustration, then bringing it back down. “Why?” “Because Mr. Arrogant is not to be trusted. I don't trust him one bit.” “What are you scared of?” She asked but didn't let me respond to her question. “We are talking about Ryan DeVill

  • Ex Wife's Revenge, Make him Regret    Chapter 7

Katherine's POVIt was all just like a dream. I could remember getting divorced a week ago and all of a sudden I was in a hotel pretending to be another man's girlfriend, walking hand in hand with him on the stairs as we approached the paparazzi outside the hotel.I clung to my leather jacket, glaring at the crowd outside.“Tell me you have your securities around here.”“Paparazzis don't bite. They just ask questions.” Ryan said in a way that made me feel dumb.I was looking at him now, pissed. “I know that. We need securities for whatever fangirls you got in that crowd.”He was wealthy, an arrogant playboy. I couldn't be wrong about him having some girls amidst the crowd, ready to rush at him and harm me in the process. He glared at me, a smirk followed. “Oh, so now you show your side of weakness.”he mocked. “A while back, you were all bold and a strong willed woman. Weren't you?”I ignored him. We were close to the entrance door and the paparazzi with their cameras could already see
