Third Person POV

A thick plume of cigar smoke circled Corloni’s head as he leaned back in his chair. Outside, a storm raged, rattling the windows and drenching the foliage of his massive, heavily guarded estate.

Two men in black raincoats stood in front of his desk, their hands folded in front of them, their legs hip width apart.

“So let me get this straight,” Corloni said, clasping his hands behind his head. “Not only did Bruno take an unauthorized hit out on the Hernandez family, but he allowed the girl to escape and lost his daughter in the process.”

The men’s faces remained stoic as they both nodded.

“Yes, Mr. Bianchi. That is correct,” the man to the left said.

Corloni didn’t even flinch at the upsetting news. Instead, he sighed heavily, glancing out the window. The air was thick with tension as the two men waited for the mob boss to reply. Corloni’s black shirt was rolled up at the sleeves, an unusually casual look for him and without his signature fedora, the receding hair line

  • Ex and Son Beg, But I Never Turn Back   Chapter 339: The Presentation

Logan’s POVThe moment Logan saw Luigi, his heart started hammering in his chest, even though it had already been racing. His palms were sweaty as he flashed Luigi an uneasy smile. His presentation folder gripped tightly in his hands. “Surprise,” Logan said, his voice uncertain. Luigi stared at him, clearly in shock, just as Logan knew he would be. “What are you doing here?” Luigi asked, stepping into the boardroom.“I scheduled a presentation to give to you,” Logan said. He hadn’t expected to be so nervous. This was Luigi, after all. He and Luigi had been through a lot together. They’d rescued Willow and escaped to a beach house in Italy. But even still, this was something entirely different. This was business, and as such, Logan felt his nerves flaring. “I have to admit, I’m a little surprised,” Luigi said. “I knew you would be,” Logan said. “I didn’t reveal my name because I was concerned you wouldn’t take a meeting with me if I did. But please, Luigi, just hear me out.”The id

  • Ex and Son Beg, But I Never Turn Back   Chapter 338: Mystery Buyer

Luigi’s POVHanging up the phone with Willow, I leaned back in my chair and looked out my massive window to the skyline.I wanted to be there with her to celebrate, but this mysterious buyer had appeared out of nowhere, insisting that I meet with him.Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes. Most of the meetings I’d been having weren’t going very well. Buyers were looking for lower cost wines, with these stupid trendy names like ‘Mamma’s Secret Super Power’, and ‘Wine O’Clock.”In fact, the more I met with buyers, the more I thought about pivoting. If this was really what buyers wanted, then didn’t it make sense for me to give them what they wanted? It was something I was really struggling with though.I’d spent my entire life learning about grapes. I’d devoted countless hours to exploring the complexity of grapes, the subtle notes, the smooth finishes. Low cost wines lacked these things, but these were the things that drew me to wine in the first place. In my mind, wine was an experience,

  • Ex and Son Beg, But I Never Turn Back   Chapter 337: Phone It In

Willow’s POVMy heart nearly dropped out of my chest. For a moment, I was completely speechless. Adonis saw the expression on my face and stopped uncorking the champagne. He cocked his head to the side, his brows furrowed.“This is her,” I said, motioning for Adonis to come and stand beside me.“Oh good,” the woman said. “Well, my name is Gloria, and like I said, I’m one of the production managers for ‘Phone It In?’ Have you heard of it?”Have I heard of it? Of course I’d heard of it. Phone It In was a popular TV show where people sold their products on live air. Basically, two people came on the show, bantered with the host, explained their product, and then the phone lines opened up. Buyers called in and bought the products, and a massive counter kept track of how many items were being sold. The whole point was to sell more items than the other person because whoever sold the most by the end of the show received a generous cash prize.People did all sorts of crazy things on the show

  • Ex and Son Beg, But I Never Turn Back   Chapter 336: The New Studio

Willow’s POV“Oh my gosh!” Adonis exclaimed, covering his mouth with his hand and gasping. “Will, this is…this is too much.”I felt the same way. It was the first time we were seeing our new studio and office space, and the moment felt so surreal, it brought tears of pride to my eyes.It was more than I ever could have hoped for. The entire space was done up in beautiful pastels, with the smell of paint still fresh in the air. It had been a hot mess when we’d first bought it, an old storage space that had gone to the wayside from years of neglect. But I’d seen the potential, and I’d purchased it that very day, with the help of my father’s loan. From there, Adonis and I had hired an interior designer, who had taken my ideas and brought them to life. The front of the space was lined with shelves that would hold my perfumes, as well as a small cash register area. There were floor to ceiling windows, and since the studio was on a busy street, we hoped that it would attract some foot traffi

  • Ex and Son Beg, But I Never Turn Back   Chapter 335: Leo’s Confession

Luigi’s POV“Hey, bud,” I said softly, approaching Leo. He was sitting in the playroom, fidgeting with a piece of Lego.“Hey,” he said, not looking up at me. I wasn’t sure, but I had a feeling that his abrupt departure from the dining room table had something to do with his grandpa. Benjamin looked very different post-surgery, and he and Leo had always been very close.“Mind if I sit down?” I asked.Leo nodded and I sat down, my legs crossed. At first, I wasn’t sure how to broach the subject, since Leo and I hadn’t really spent a ton of time together and this felt like a delicate situation. But I wanted to grow closer to Leo, and I felt like this was a good opportunity to have a heart to heart.“Is this about your grandfather?” I asked, deciding a direct approach was best.Leo looked up at me, a surprised look in his eyes. “How did you know?” he asked.“Because I felt the same way, bud,” I told him. “The first time I saw Benjamin at the hospital.”“You did?” Leo asked, a little skeptic

  • Ex and Son Beg, But I Never Turn Back   Chapter 334: A New House Guest

Willow’s POVWe set up my father in a sprawling guest room on the main floor so he wouldn’t have to use the stairs. The children were beyond excited to have him live with us, although I had to remind them that he needed lots of rest.My father was in good spirits though, and he was determined to follow the doctor’s orders to a tee. We hired a plethora of nurses and care aids, as well as a nutritionist, and a personal chef dedicated to my father’s meals only.I was so touched by Luigi’s insistence that my father come and stay with us. He hadn’t even hesitated. I’d honestly just assumed that my father would return back to his own home when he was released from the hospital. But Luigi was firm in his decision, embracing my father and welcoming him into the home as family.Luigi had hand rails installed in the bathroom so my father could get in and out of the bathtub. He had my father’s bed brought over from his house, replacing all the furniture in the spare room with my father’s, to make
