Miriam’s POV

It’s been almost a week of constant nightmare and awkward  interaction with Williams at the office. Also I still haven't heard anything from my supposed husband.

“So is your husband back from his trip?” Sara asked as she drove me back to my apartment.

“Well not at all. And I haven't heard from him since he dropped that last text message.” I replied.

“Well, it was quite a hurried marriage. As long as he has no idea about your wealth why don't you divorce him. Don't forget he was the one your father set you up with, he must be up to no good.” Sara replied.

Speaking of my father, that bastard has also been harassing me all week.

“Gosh… I can't seem to get a break from all these relationship drama. He seems hot and all but I guess he is a douche bag, and I need to prioritize myself right now.”

Sara glanced at me and smiled.

“What? Why are you smiling?” I asked finding her behaviour odd.

“Well I am just so proud of you. You are finally putting yourself first.”

I nodded my head. While I stared at the highway.

I guess growth comes from pain. I had to learn the heard way.

“So what's your plan, regarding your new estranged husband?” She asked.

“Will definitely divorce him. He seems like the type who doesn't have much and that's okay by me. I guess if I offer him five million dollars as divorce settlement he would take it.”

“Well I thinks that's a lot of momey but the quicker you get rid of him the better. I will call the lawyer to draft the divorce agreement.”

“Okay.”

Such a shame I am getting a divorce barely two weeks after my marriage. I don't know if it was even possible to call it a divorce.

Maybe and annulment would be a better term.

“So….how are you planning on celebrating?” Sara asked.

“Celebrating? What's are we celebrating?”

“What do you mean what are we celebrating? You are getting a divorce do you know how much of a life goal achievement that is? It deserves a celebration. Well too bad your soon to be ex husband was quite hot.”

My head was spinning with all the words she was saying.

Why would I celebrate a divorce and who the hell thinks getting divorce is an achievement?

But one thing I could agree on was that Lazar was hot, the image of him walking out of his bedroom water dripping down his neck, his hair still wet and tousled played in my head.

“Well I am too tired to go party.”

“Come on, stop being an old hag. You are just twenty-four years old.” Sara insisted.

I stare at the busy road, filled with workers going home.

I guess Sara was right, I have never lived my life for myself. I have completely dedicated my life to my company and with my family constant bullying over the years I had to hide myself but I am free now.

I could do whatever I want.

“Okay then… let's go party.” I replied with a soft smile at the corner of my lips.

“Hell yeah, that what I am talking about. Grab that satin Laurent shopping bag at the back that yours.”

I tuned around and saw the bag but I was quite confused.

“Why are you giving me a bag?” I asked.

“Because your clothes are in there. You really don't want to wear that questionable suit to a club now do you?” She asked with a deep frown on her face.

I recall her telling me she had gone shopping.

“I thought you said they were for an event.”

“Well this is the event. I am going to stop at the gas station so we can get dressed.”

“Wait…. Are you being for real. You want me to change at the gas station?” I asked completely baffled.

“Uh, where else do you want to change. In front of the club?” She looked at me like I just asked a dumb question, but I could not believe Sara wanted me to start behaving like a wannabe rebellious teenager.

*****

“Let's goooo.” Sara screeched out hopping to the car in excitement, while I could barely walk in my dress.

“Sara, this dress is barely covering anything.” I complained as I got a few catcalls from men walking to the gas station shop.

“There is nothing short about that dress. I actually thought it was going to be shorter.”

“What do you mean shorter? My ass is practically hanging out.”

“Too bad, I hoped it was. Girl, have you seen your ass…. You need to flaunt it more.” She responded like it was no big deal. While I stood frozen, too stunned to speak.

“Let's go,” she yelled at me.

“Sara, you are really pushing the limits here.” I glared at her before hopping into the car.

“Whatever, let's go.”

She looked super excited and happy that I could not help but slowly ease up and match her energy.

A little bit of fun would not kill, right?

******

“Welcome to ‘Bulls up’ the biggest and the hottest club in the city.” Sara yelled over the loud music as she looked around like a kid who had just been dumped in a toy shop.

I had to say the club was massive but extremely crowded.

“Sara this place is too crowded.” I yell over the loud music.

Gosh, I can't keep talking like this all night, I will definitely loose my voice.

“Well if your brain is still working it means the alcohol has not kicked in yet. Let's get some drinks and find some hot men.” Sara said dragging me to the bar.

Find men? I thought this was supposed to be my divorce celebration party. Why would I want to get involved with another man?

“Here take this.” Sara said pushing a drink toward my hand as she gulped down several shots.

“You know I am not a fan of alcohol.”

“Girl just drink it and stop being a bummer. It's been so long, since we hanged out like this.” She complained, pouting her lips, blinking her eyes.

She wanted to look cute but instead she looked like a puffed deer.

“Okay okay.” I surrendered, taking a sip of the drink and surprisingly it was not….bitter.

“I told you, you will like it.” She yelled ordering more drinks and like a very obedient child I drank all of them until the world started to tilt a little.

I need to slow down on the drinking. Was starting to feel tipsy.

“Oh my gosh, it's our favourite song.” Sara yelled while my body buzzed with alcohol.

But she was right, love is wicked by brick and lace was playing and I absolutely love this song. Brick and lace were definitely not telling lies about love being wicked.

I dragged Sara to the dance floor, moving my waist to the beat and flared my hands up in the air, while Sara and I sang the song together

I guess partying is not such a bad idea.

“Hey gorgeous.” Someone whispered into my ears.

I turned around and saw a handsome black guy with beautiful eyes looking at me like I was the sexiest thing alive.

You know what maybe Sara was right. To get over a old lover, I need to be under a new one.

“Hey gorgeous.” I smiled, my words a little bit slurred but I don’t care.

“You seem to be enjoying yourself.” He said, finding his way around my hips pulling me closer.

I should pull it away but today I felt rebellious so I only smiled at him.

“Well I am getting divorced, I can't help but feel happy.”

“Oh really. It must suck for that fella. Because he just lost the most sexiest woman I have ever set my eyes on.”

He was a smooth talker I have to give him that.

“Stop flattering me. Well, I will be free from him soon and I can do whatever I want to do after I get the divorce.”

He smiled, pulling me even closer until our lips were barely inches apart.

“Soo… does that mean I can have….”

Suddenly a loud voice boomed through the loud music, interrupting my new man and making my body go still.

I know that voice.

“Why am I just finding out that we are getting divorce?” A familiar voice whispered into my ears and the next moment my new play thing was walking to the other end of the room.

“Lazar?” I mutter under my breath, as I turned around to look at the man standing beside me, his gaze filled with fire and fury.

“It seems like I need to teach you a very important lesson. Miriam.” He growled and dragged me out of the dance floor.

I was still a little bit tipsy, maybe drunk now and my whole body felt hot all over.

How did he know I was here anyway?

“Now… tell me who that guy is and whow the hell gave you the idea we were going to get a divorce?”

He pushed me against the wall and trapped me with his arm, but I could barely see or hear anything.

“Ohh.. am I in trouble, I kinda like this position.” I teased.

“Miriam I am not joking.” He warned his eyes sparking with rage, but he just looks so hot, like a mafia boss or something.

“Lazar….why do I feel so hot?” I asked giggling like a small kid.

A strange feeling of excitement was buzzing through my veins and I liked.

“Fuck….” He cursed under his breath.

“Cursing is not good.” I scolded him like I was his teacher.

“Well you have been drugged that's why you are feeling so hot. How could you be so reckless if I was not here with you what would have….”

I slammed my lips into his. He was rambling and talking too much and it was starting to give me a headache.

“Kiss me.” I ordered.

“Miriam, this is not right.” He tried to push me away but I quickly wrapped my arm around his neck and pulled him closer.

I craved his touch, the excitement I was feeling in my veins was starting to feel like torture. I needed a release and being in his arms made me feel good.

“Please Lazar… kiss me.” I begged.

Lazar's POV The meeting with Raneesh was just like I expected, he lied to me, making me seem like a fool.“You know Raneesh, one thing I hate the most aside from stealing is lies. I hate when people lie to me. I will give you a chance to clean up whatever mess you started or all hell will break loose. It is better to be my ally than my enemy.” I warned him over the phone.“Lazar, I think there is a mis….” I ended the call before he could complete his sentence.I was not ready for his bullshit.“How are we going to deal with Raneesh?” Rodosov asked as we walked out of the office.“Get me on line with Malik, it seems there is going to be a shift in power.” Since Raneesh has proven to be disloyal, it's high time I got rid of him.I don't play with my business and indefinitely don't work with traitors.“And…. I have something to tell you.” Rodosov said as we got into the car. There was so much work I needed to get done, so I could finally reunite with Miriam. Just the thought of her wan

Miriam's POV I was still feeling a little bit spooked with what had happened at the elevator.Today had to be the worse day for me. Worse than my supposed wedding day.First I had an encounter with an idiot that made my head spin with anger and then those strange men who were following me in the elevator.Or maybe I was just being paranoid. But there was one person who was starting to piss me off, Lazar. After he sent me a good night text last night I haven't heard from him all day. He just vanished like a ghost.I walked into the bathroom and freshened up before making dinner and putting on a telenovela series I had been following for a while. It's been quite some time since I felt this free and it was almost midnight.Suddenly my phone buzzed beside me.I was too engrossed in the very dramatic scene of where the female lead was seducing the male lead that I did not bother to see who it was.Maybe I should be taking notes from the female leads she definitely has some game. Then my

Lazar's POV My black SUV rolled to a stop outside the old wine cellar on the outskirts of town.It didn’t look like much from the outside. One would think it's just another forgotten structure tucked between hills and wild grass but underneath it was where the real business happened.Six powerful branches of the mafia family. One secret room. And they were all waiting for me.This building had to be one of the most secured buildings in the world. It was currently housing a lot of important people.Rodosov stepped out of the car and opened the door for me.I stepped out of the car, my boots crushing the dry gravel as I adjusted the cuff of my coat. It was quite windy. I took a quick glance around as my men bowed to welcome me even the guards of other families bowed in respect.Today was a very important day, I wasn’t here to make friends. I was here to make a statement. My guards opened the steel door for me and I descended the narrow stairs, my footsteps echoing in the silence.“A

Maybe we can get intel on what he is up to.” I yelled over to Rodosov as I tackled one of the men to the ground, shooting him point blank in the middle of his eyes before he realised what was happening.“Lazar.” Rodosov yelled with a panicked expression, his eyes staring at something or someone behind me.I turned around to see who it was but it was too late. The sound of gun fire followed by a sharp pain in my chest shoved me a few steps backwards.I raised my hand ready to shoot the bastard but three shots were fired
