***Cheyenne’s POV***

“Original plan was just to observe, but it seems,” they paused as they looked at Teagan again, “seems like plans have changed.” They smiled.

“Charlie get the women and children out of here.” Koa hollered out without taking her eyes off the intruder.

“Let us go!” Pain and Panic were yelling from the ground.

“What should we do with them?” Koa asked Teagan and Maggie.

“Allow me,” Teagan said looking towards the men on the ground. “Excuse me, this will only take a second.” And with that, Teagan shifted right in front of us.

The sight of the two sisters, fully shifted, next to each other was just breathtaking. Maggie looked like the twilight sky with sunset-colored eyes, while Teagan’s dragon was the exact opposite. She was a beautiful mix of greens and blues, with that metallic look as well. Her eyes were the perfect blend of the brightest yellow and green. One that looked like the end of the day, while the other reminded you of the meadows along the ocean in broad da

  • F.E.A.R.   Chapter 41 - The Forgotten Power

The earth groaned beneath their feet.Cracks webbed across the temple floor, glowing faintly with the sickly violet hue of Umbraeth’s essence pressing against the last fragments of the seal. The air shimmered unnaturally, heavy with heat and pressure, making it difficult to breathe. Power coiled in the space like a beast in wait, pulsing in time with something ancient and angry.Nalia stood in the center, her phoenix spirit flickering and pulsing just beneath her skin. Flames licked her palms, her eyes already glowing like molten gold as Saelari surged to the surface, lending her strength. She tried not to shake. This was it. The moment they’d all been preparing for.To her left, Isolde paced in slow, deliberate arcs, Zethra’s shadow magic pooling around her like ink in water. Every step she took layered a protective ward in the air, glyphs in the language of old gods burning black and deep purple. Chelsea followed closely behind her, weaving s

  • F.E.A.R.   Chapter 40 - Marked

The moon was still high when the Guardians assembled at the pack border, the firelight of the dwindling party still flickering in the distance. Their celebration had ended in a flurry of urgency—Cheyenne’s cell phone still buzzed with Kensavion’s last words echoing through her mind: "…Or Umbraeth will rise before the sun does."There was no time for drawn-out goodbyes.Gunner stood with Cheyenne, his jaw tight as he tried to mask his worry. Tyler had his arm wrapped around Nalia protectively, though the phoenix’s golden eyes burned with fierce determination. Tegan’s and Tora’s dragon energy radiated from beneath their skin, and beside Tora, Jax stood ready, muscles tense. Isolde and Collin were the most composed, but the tension in their posture spoke volumes. Chelsea held Ben’s hand tightly, looking back at the packhouse thinking about Darian and what would happen to him if they didn’t return.&ldq

  • F.E.A.R.   Chapter 39 - The Calm Before the Storm

Far beneath the Phoenix sanctum...The world above still slumbered in fragile peace. But deep below—beneath roots, stone, and flame—something vast and ancient stirred. The prison, once thought impenetrable, now groaned under pressure. Threads of old magic, etched into the obsidian rock like veins, flickered with dying light. A shudder rippled through the cavern walls as a hairline fracture cracked open across the blackened surface of the chamber floor.Thick, tar-like mist hissed out from the breach, curling through the air like sentient smoke, searching.Feeding.The temperature dropped, not with cold, but with absence—a void so complete it devoured heat, sound, even time. The darkness took on weight, pressing against the barrier, flexing fingers no longer fully bound. Then… a sound. Not a growl. Not a roar. A whisper. Low, ancient, and seething with hunger.“They forget what I am… but t

  • F.E.A.R.   Chapter 38 - The Names We Bear

The living room of Cheyenne and Gunner’s cabin had become a war room.Maps littered the table and floors, their edges curled and frayed. Ancient books lay cracked open beneath flickering candles, pages filled with symbols most couldn't decipher without Chelsea’s help. A wall was dedicated to scribbled notes, battle routes, enemy profiles, and prophecies—some of them recent visions, others as old as Umbraeth itself.Cheyenne sat on the arm of Gunner’s chair, barefoot and braiding her hair absentmindedly while discussing exit strategies. Tora and Jax argued good-naturedly over aerial tactics. Isolde pored over a blood-soaked text she’d recovered from a forgotten vampire vault, muttering about ancient binding rituals. Tyler hovered near Nalia, quietly watching her hands clench and unclench around the glass of water she wasn’t drinking. She hadn’t said much. Not since the vision. Not since she’d seen Umbraeth with her

  • F.E.A.R.   Chapter 37 - The Circle Sees All

*Deep Beneath the Earth, Far Below the Phoenix Sanctum*Darkness. Not just the absence of light, but an ancient, sentient void—the kind that remembers the beginning of all things and resents its banishment from them.Centuries-old roots twist through rock and ash, pulsing faintly like veins. Faint whispers echo across the cavern’s endless expanse—not voices, but memories. Fragmented thoughts. Regrets. Hunger. At the center lies Umbraeth—The Devourer of Essence, once sealed in the Underfire Vault by a coalition of gods and guardians when the earth was still young. It has no true form anymore. Once a celestial being corrupted by power, it became something else… something that feeds on life, not by blood or flesh, but by swallowing the very essence of what makes a soul unique. Its resting place glows faintly red as veins of ancient magma snake toward it, not to

  • F.E.A.R.   Chapter 36 - The Flame She Must Master

The world was on fire. Not metaphorically. Literally.Buildings collapsed into ash. Flames licked the sky like they were trying to devour the stars. Somewhere in the chaos, a cry echoed—a mix of grief and rage and something otherworldly. It came from within her and all around her. She could feel the heat in her bones, see the city crumble as if it had happened before. And in the middle of it all stood a woman cloaked in white and gold, her arms outstretched, her wings massive and ablaze.“You were born for this.”Nalia screamed. She bolted upright in bed, chest heaving, drenched in sweat. Her hands shook violently as she grabbed the edge of the blanket, trying to ground herself.Seconds later, her door flew open.“Nalia?!” Cheyenne rushed in, already halfway across the room.Tyler stumbled in behind her, shirtless and wide-eyed, clearly pulled from sleep. “What happe
