Taika’s POV

I return home late in he night after visiting Penelope. I tip toe into the room. My heart beats hard because I know Asher might know that I’m back.

I grab the door and push it slowly. My eyes is closed and one prayer point of mine is that the door shouldn’t creak. It seems the moon goddess is in alignment with me this time because the door doesn’t squeak. I clamp my teeth together and make the first step into the house. I sniffle but I don’t get a scent. I raise my brows and free my muscles.

I waltz into the room more bold. I place my hand on the bed, there is nobody. “Asher” I call but there is no response. “Fuck” I cuss and wag my head. I sit on the bed and place my forehead in my hands. And where can he be at this time of the night?
