Chapter Eighteen - Defend me

We all went outside to see carriages and horses waiting for our arrival. The carriages could only occupy four people, so four females each in the carriages while the males hopped on their horses.

“Come on, Aret, let's go.” Nova and the other females called as I shivered in disgust. My last carriage ride was terrible, my heart was in my stomach throughout the ride.

“No.” I say to them as confusion swirled on their faces. I walked to where all the supreme and their guards were getting on their horses as I went to Mobali.

His horse was as dark as night with blue eyes as deep as the ocean, its mane so silky and soft in my palms.

“What's its name?” I asked Mobali who felt reluctant to answer.

“Midnight.”

What a perfect name for his appearance.

“I'd like to ride Midnight with you.” I say, watching as he raised his eyebrow.

“What?”

“I dislike carriages, I prefer horses.” I tell him, earning a scoff from him.

“No.”

“It's either you, or my head guard, Lincoln.” I pointed at Lincoln star
