Chapter Nineteen - Mercy

“Wait!” Aret yelled, making the guards release the maid as she crawled towards Aret.

“I remember! There was something wrong with my hairpin, so I had the maid help me sneak it out to fix it.” Aret explains taking the hairpin from Hawaii.

“See? Somewhere around here.” she says, pointing at the supposed dent in the hairpin.

'Help me out here, play along.' Aret says through the mind link. I furrow my brows confused.

'Why save her?' I asked

'ill explain later, just please.'

I walked closer, rubbing my chin. “Yes, I remember you telling me that there was a dent in your hairpin and this maid knew a goldsmith who could fix it.”

Are nodded, helping the maid up.

“I'm sorry everyone, but she's not a thief.” Aret shouts, motioning to Hawaii to help her lift the maid up.

“Everyone, dismiss and return to your stations!” I ordered everyone to disperse, the Supreme Leaders also walked out.
