Chapter Seventeen – Reunion 2

~LORRAINE~

“Run! They are after us!” I held Laurel's hand as we ran deep into the forest, we could still hear the roars of the wolves a mile away.

“Let's shift,” Laurel said as she tried to morph into her wolf form, but her bones didn't shift.

“We cannot shift, we are too injure-”

“Lorraine! Watch out!” Laurel shouted as a wolf slammed into us, sending us flying into the river.

The thing was that we both couldn't swim. I struggled to keep my head above water, but the more I struggled, the fewer chances I had of surviving.

I could feel the oxygen leave my lungs as I found myself sinking into the river with Laurel by my side.
