TWO MONTHS LATER...It was Valentine's Day and the grand opening of Meghan's resort. The entire staff, especially those from the kitchen and reception, were busy. Meanwhile, Sabrina was sitting calmly near the main entrance of the resort. Her gift shop wasn't officially open yet because she didn't want to coincide with Meghan's opening. However, they decided to set up a small table near the entrance, and every guest of the resort would receive a little gift from her shop.Sabrina wasn't really at a loss because Meghan provided the flowers for free. It was for the resort's opening, after all. She only had to make an effort, and even the supplies came from Meghan. It was also a form of free promotion for her gift shop."Congrats, Meghan," she greeted the woman, who looked bossy in her red dress. The resort had a gold theme like her house, but Meghan chose to wear a red dress, probably to make it easier for her staff to find her."Thank you, Sabrina. Wait, something seems different about
Kenneth attempted to talk to Sabrina again, but she firmly rejected his plea. He had no choice but to be content with watching her from a distance. He sighed several times as he reflected on his actions towards Sabrina, wincing as he realized that it was unlikely he would be given another chance. Perhaps if he had restrained himself a few days earlier, they wouldn't have reached this point of separation."Excuse me, sir."His reflection on the past was interrupted when a woman suddenly appeared in front of him. Before acknowledging the woman, who probably just wanted to get his number, he glanced back at Sabrina and his jaw dropped when he saw her sweetly smiling at a guest."Sir, this is for you," the woman said.Kenneth accepted what the woman gave him and opened it. His forehead furrowed deeper as he read the contents of the letter, and his expression changed for a brief moment."What's this?" he asked the woman as he approached her."Don't you know how to read? It's clear what I w
She felt deeply hurt when Kenneth didn't even look at her before leaving without saying goodbye. Was their conversation earlier just a joke? The way he acted, it was as if they didn't even know each other. She stood up and followed him, but suddenly hesitated, so she decided to call him instead. While waiting for Kenneth to answer her call, she felt extremely nervous."So that's it then?" she asked anxiously."Yes," was the only response from him.Sabrina couldn't help but think of going back inside to bid farewell to her assistant. Didn't he know how difficult it was for her to set aside her pride? She waited for a few seconds for his response, but he just said "yes"? My god! She might turn into a criminal on Meghan's resort opening day. She hopped on her scooter and quickly started it. When she arrived home, she rushed inside. Her mother greeted her with a furrowed brow."Mom, where's Scarlet?" She should have been looking for Kenneth, but she felt embarrassed in front of her mother
Despite having consumed a lot, Sabrina's face still lingered in his mind. She had a strong sense of pride, so he knew how much she restrained herself from crying in front of him.During the time they spent together, he had gotten to know her well, and he was certain she was still awake. He glanced at his watch and realized it was almost midnight. Kenneth contemplated as he stared at his cellphone, wanting to call Sabrina since earlier. He wanted to seek advice from friends who had happy love lives but he hesitated. It was already late at night, so he was sure they were asleep. He had tried to convince himself several times that what he did was for the sake of both of them, but he didn't want to hurt Sabrina. When he handed her Scarlet's passbook earlier, she couldn't hide the tremor in her voice from him.Whenever he was with Sabrina, he never felt bored. There were times when she was mischievous, and there were times when she was overly serious. Despite the fluctuations in her mood,
The views in the city of Azura were breathtaking, and nothing could beat the crunch of the leaves beneath her feet as she walked, and it seemed that the huffing wind was too lazy to scatter the leaves. One of these days, she planned to go on a countryside tour with her husband, Kenneth McBride to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Autumn was a season for a fresh start or new beginnings, and it was just one of the reasons why Sabrina Hart loved autumn so much. Temperatures began to fall after the intense heat of summer, and trees that were once green burst into brilliant gold, red, and orange hues. Yes, she loved autumn but after marrying Kenneth three years ago, she wasn’t able to enjoy her favourite season. She was dripping wet from head to toe as she stood in the garden and she was shivering in the cold but nobody paid attention. Several servants were passing by but she doubted if they ever noticed her! They were focused on the man dressed in a white coat who was standing at the entran
She heard the command to kneel in front of the elders. The eyes that lay hidden beneath the brows of the elderly man were as ferocious and ruthless as a knife, and they stabbed right through Sabrina's heart. Because the discomfort was so great, she had difficulty breathing. As her temperature rose, Sabrina's face became flushed with a bright red colour. She looked around the room with a quick glance. Everyone was under the impression that she was the devil! Then she met everyone’s eyes because she was completely blameless! Why was she compelled to kneel before him? She remained standing there while adamantly proclaiming that she wouldn’t kneel before them! When Kenneth’s father saw her defiance to accept defeat, he was enraged and hurled the cup that he was holding to Sabrina’s feet. “Sabrina, get down on your knees!” Kenneth yelled furiously. She heard Kenneth’s order, however, her attention was focused on the broken pieces of the porcelain cup. They stabbed her feet, and because o
Everyone who heard Sabrina’s announcement about divorce was shocked. It was a mistake to marry Kenneth McBride and she paid a lot for her wrong decision. His relatives gasped in unison, and then they looked at her. Sabrina smirked when they looked hopeful she would change her statement. She had enough of their maltreatment and manipulation! For the last time, Sabrina observed the entire hall. Magnificent braziers encircling each of the twelve marble columns illuminated the hall, and bathe it in a dancing orange glow. The unadorned stones on the terraced ceiling danced in the flickering light, while sculptures peer down the shining floor. A teal rug ran down the centre of the room, looping back from both the left and right, while pennant banners with emblazoned sides covered some of the walls. Between each banner was a small altar filled with candles, almost all of which have been lit. Veils in the same teal as the banners enveloped the modest windows. The curtains have been embellis
Sabrina gasped for air and staggered to her feet, then the world spun around her. The voices in her head screamed in unison to stop what she was doing and to find a way out of her misery. At this point, it would probably take a simple and obvious decision to either give up or keep going. Her body trembled. Weak and exhausted, it took all of her remaining strength to stand up. Everything hurt; head, chest and feet. The pain subsided at times only to return with a vengeance. It took her a moment to gather her thoughts, or at least enough of them to think more clearly. She was literally worn out. She was tired both from the pain and from having to deal with it, but she didn’t have a choice. It was already seven when she woke up again, and the sun was already bright. How long did she sleep? She was in denial and slept day and night to escape from the reality. When the door opened, she expected to see a nurse or a doctor, but it was her friend, Heather. She smiled at the woman who took car
