CHAPTER 60

The mention of Amber's name once again ruined my mood. I couldn't eat anymore because despite being hungry. “She’s a good cook,” I admitted.

“Of course,” Jacob agreed with me.

“I’ll do the dishes,” I offered because it was my job.

“No, just leave it,” he ordered.

“Fine!”

“Wait a minute, Bethany.” After noticing my voice's shakiness, Jacob inquired.

I lied and said, “I'm just upset about something.”

“Are you acting this way because of Amber? Did you truly fall for Stefan?”

“I'll just go outside for a little while.”

I didn't hold my breath for a reply. I walked outside the house with a can of beer in my hand and headed for the patio. I didn't need to use my phone's flashlight because the moon was so bright. When I got to the patio, I opened my beer and sat on the swing.
