“She believes that I’m defending the pack. The truth, though, I’m battling for her
The first smell hit first, the harsh , chilly, and stormy perfume of rain.
The entire compound was awake by dusk. Silently, warriors armed themselves. The stone walls reverberated with the sound of blades clanging. The air was filled with steady, waiting heartbeats.
I could sense him beneath it all.
The Chainbearer was a shadow that crawled across the earth, so heavy enough that sir tasted like iron. It was more than simply his strength. He was hungry. He desired Seren.
I entered the courtyard after fastening the strap over my armour. Vaughn was barking commands as he waited close to the gate. Rowan examined the bows arranged along the wall. The young ones were well-trained and moved quickly yet silently. They were aware that this might be the final night.
Seren was there already.

Seren's POVI woke up to the taste of his name on my tongue and the smell of smoke."I was momentarily unsure of my location. Instead of the war room's stone ceiling, the one above me was made of rough wood. The air was heavy and warm, pressing on the chest.
