CHAPTER 37

Amber’s POV

When I turned around, I saw Dale. He came with Jacob. They both looked at me apologetically but there was nothing they could do. She was a servant and under the direct supervision of Jacob’s Luna. Dale did not say anything but he probably heard about the miscarriage.

I had been dreading this conversation with Dale for weeks. I knew that I had to tell him about the miscarriage, but I didn't know how he would react. But finally, the day came when we were alone together, and I knew that I had to tell him.

"Dale, I need to talk to you about something," I said, my voice shaking.

He looked at me with concern. "What is it?"

"I...I lost the baby," I said, tears streaming down my face.

For a moment, he didn't say anything. He just stared at me, his face a mask of shock and sadness. And then, finally, he spoke.

"I'm so sorry," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't even know that it would result in this,” he said, his voice full of regret.
