CHAPTER 43

Amber’s POV

I was frightened when Tom became physical with me. He seemed so angry and I didn't know how to calm him down. I could feel his tense energy radiating off him like a wave.

One morning, while I was preparing for his meal, he suddenly came into the kitchen and grabbed my wrist. Then, his grip on my arm tightened, making me wince in pain. He didn't say anything for a while, and I could feel his anger building up inside him.

When he finally spoke, his voice was low and menacing. "You shouldn't have done that," he growled.

"I'm sorry," I whispered, hoping to calm him down. But it only seemed to make him angrier.

"I don't want to hear your apologies," he spat. "You know what you did, and you're going to pay for it!”

Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to pull away from him, but his grip on me was too strong. I knew I was in trouble, and I didn't know how to get out of it. Then, he dragged me through my hair, from the kitchen, up to the living room.
