Chapter 5: A News

What!?

My mouth hung open for minutes—I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. There had to be a misunderstanding somewhere, because this couldn’t be true.

“Doctor, what is the meaning of this?” I threw the result at him angrily.

“What is this nonsense?” I snapped, furious and shaking. There had to be a mistake—there was no way I could be pregnant.

“Check this result again,” I demanded, my furious eyes locked on the doctor. “I’m sure there’s been a mix-up.” I needed immediate relief. I was desperate for him to say this result wasn’t mine.

“Yes, doctor, there must be a mistake. My friend can’t be pregnant,” Eva added, her voice trembling with fear.

“But this is the result, and there’s no error,” the doctor said gently, unfazed by our reaction. “However, if you have doubts, I can re-conduct the test.”

“Of course I’ll retake it!” I snapped. “There’s no way a woman with a damaged womb can conceive.” I folded my arms under my chest, seething with anger. This was beyond frustrating.

Yes, you heard me right—I said damaged womb. Louis had always forced me to take abortion pills whenever I got pregnant. The last one was so strong, it landed me in the hospital.

The doctors saved my life… but not my womb. My womb was gone.

So why on earth was this doctor telling me I was pregnant? It made no sense. It was maddening.

“I’ll need your blood again,” the doctor said, pulling me from my swirling thoughts.

“Take as much as you want,” I said bitterly. He nodded and gently inserted the syringe into my arm.

Once he had enough, he gave a small smile. “I’ll be back,” he said, leaving Eva and me alone in the room.

“There must be an error,” Eva whispered. “You don’t have to worry.”

I couldn’t reply. I was too angry to speak.

After what felt like an eternity, the door creaked open and the doctor stepped in. I stared at him, trying to read his face, but his expression was blank—completely unreadable.

“Here,” he said, handing me another envelope.

I tore it open without hesitation. This wasn’t the time to be gentle.

“I’m sorry for the confusion,” the doctor began, his voice low and remorseful. “The test results were switched, just like you suspected.”

But I wasn’t listening to him anymore. A pregnancy would have been easier to handle than what I was seeing now. My eyes widened, my expression froze, and my mind went numb.

“What is it?” Eva asked, snatching the paper from my hand.

“What!? Jesus!” she screamed, and the paper slipped from her fingers, falling to the floor like a feather. The weight of the news was too much to bear.

The urge to live… to fight… to seek revenge… all of it vanished. I was empty. This was how it was supposed to end.

“I’m so sorry about the sad news,” the doctor said softly, but I couldn’t respond. What was there to say?

“So… you’re saying my friend has only a year to live? Because of an incurable heart disease?” Eva asked, her voice icy and sharp. She sounded like she was hoping he’d say it was another mistake.

“Yes,” the doctor replied, sorrow heavy in his tone. “I wish I could offer hope, but I’ve been a doctor for 35 years, and I’ve never seen anyone survive this kind of heart disease.”

His words made the pain even deeper.

“So then, what is left of me? Just end it now before this sickness does, because if you don’t, I will.”vThe words escaped me before I could stop them.

I was already violent, ripping off every support system—drips, monitors, everything. I didn’t need them anymore. They were useless now.

Maybe this was the universe’s way of telling me that my existence was a curse—that I no longer had a place here. A sign that my family didn’t want me to avenge their deaths because they were still angry with me. Now, I could die and go to hell where I belonged.

Eva and the doctor tried to restrain me, but I was too strong. “Call for backup immediately!” Eva screamed in horror.

“I already did. They’ll be here soon,” the doctor replied calmly. And just as he said, nurses rushed into the ward. Together, they managed to hold me down.

“Let me go! I don’t want to live!” Tears drenched my face as I screamed.

“Can any of you live like me? Can any of you live in this nightmare I’m trapped in?” I shouted, more tears pouring from my eyes.

“Huh? Can any of you? Do you know what it means to live a painful and meaningless life? I hate all of you so much. Leave me, please!” I tried to pull away, but their grip was stronger than mine.

“Eva, please, tell them to leave me alone,” I turned to her, only then realizing she was crying too.

“No, you don’t have to cry. You won’t be the one living this wrecked life. I promise. Please, don’t cry for me,” I said through my tears, and Eva hugged me tightly.

“Please stop. Please,” her soft voice pleaded, and my pain deepened, more tears flooding my eyes.

“Please, just stop,” she sobbed into my shoulder.

“I…” I wanted to speak, but I couldn’t. I felt the doctor injecting something into me, and soon, everything faded to black.

CHAPTER 7: AN UNEXPECTED SAY ANNA POV…..Something was off.His eyes—once golden brown and inviting—were now deep red and deadly. His face was contorted with rage, and his lips trembled with a pain so raw it looked like it had been carved Into him. As I stared at him, panic surged through me like a tidal wave, and I couldn’t hide it.I shivered and stumbled back. Yes, I was scared—terrified, in fact—of this being I had once mistaken for an angel. But bloody hell, he wasn’t. There was no way an angel could look this terrifying, this deadly.“What are you trying to do again?” he growled. His voice was like thunder layered over thunder, as if a thousand voices spoke at once. It dripped with authority—so much so that even the strongest of men would fall to their knees.“What was the last bargain?” he thundered, his presence overwhelming. “Didn’t I ask you to avenge your family? Why are you here again, repeating the same mistake I saved you from?”His words struck me like lightning, and

Chapter 6: Something OffAna POV…The night was cool, but there was nothing inviting about it—at least not for someone like me, someone who’s going to die soon. I had just woken from a long, drugged slumber only to realize I was still trapped in this goddamn hospital. The doctor did a great job putting me to sleep for hours, but he’s definitely not winning a Headies Award for it.I scanned the room with my eyes, searching for Eva. I needed to be sure she was completely gone before I could execute my plan. After minutes of searching without catching even a glimpse of her, I took a deep breath. As for the healthcare personnel—those who would no doubt try to stop me from leaving—they were all asleep. They couldn’t stop me from claiming the freedom I deserve.Like I told the doctor earlier, “I’ll kill myself before this sickness does.” He must have thought I was joking when I said that, but he should’ve known better. A psycho is always serious. And this… this is my best chance to go see

Chapter 4: A PaperAnna Pov…I could hear faint voices around me.“Why isn’t she waking up yet? It’s been twelve hours already,” a familiar voice said.I wasn’t sure where I was, but I managed to open my eyes. A white ceiling greeted me.I groaned as a sharp pain shot through my head, and I slowly raised my right hand to my temple in an attempt to soothe it.My eyes shut again. The pain was still there, lingering. Then I felt a cold touch on my hand and heard that same familiar voice again:“She opened her eyes just now.”Hearing that voice gave me the strength to pry my eyes open once more, and once again, I was staring at the same white ceiling. The sharp pain returned, though this time it wasn’t as intense. Gathering all the strength I had left, I slowly sat up.“Anna! You’re up?”My eyes settled on Eva, who was smiling excitedly. It was only then I realized—she was the familiar voice I couldn’t place earlier.“What am I doing here…?” The words caught in my throat as memories

Chapter 3: A New PlanAnna Pov… I pushed him, not knowing why I did.“Who the hell are you? What gave you the right to save me from ending my life? And as if that’s not enough—you kissed me too?”My tone said it all. I was angry. Furious.“I only came to claim what belongs to me. And I want you to come with me,” he said, calm and commanding. He wasn’t pleading—he was ordering. And I wasn’t finding it funny.“Well, if you’re not going to tell me who you are, then get the hell out of here and let me do what I was about to do.”I hissed and turned back to the ocean.“Don’t try to stop me. Living is already a hell of its own.”I tried to jump again, but he pulled me back.“What do you think you’re doing? You’re making a grave mistake.”His voice quivered this time. There was something in his tone—a tremor I hadn’t heard before. Fear.I looked into his eyes—those golden brown eyes—and that strange pang of familiarity struck me again. There was something about them I couldn’t place.

  • FANGS OF DECEIT (Bounded by Blood and Lies)   A STRANGE FEELING

Chapter 2: A Strange Feeling Anna Pov… .I stood at the edge, taking in my surroundings for the last time before jumping down to meet my family in heaven. I knew they were there, free from the crimes they never committed, victims only of life’s cruel twists and my own miserable existence. But would I join them? Did I deserve such a sacred place? I doubted it. Perhaps hell was where I belonged, for being a constant thorn in the side of those who tried to help. The fall seemed to drag on Forever, and impatience gnawed at me. Why was it taking so long to hit the ocean’s surface? Was death itself rejecting me? Maybe the bridge was just too high; I would have chosen a more gentle descent. My arms spread wide, I surrendered to the void, willing to wait an eternity for the inevitable. Finally, the ocean came into view, its blue a testament to the beauty of the divine. The gentle sway of the waves was a serene lullaby, beckoning me closer. As I drew nearer, a smile crossed my lips, and

Chapter 1: A Decision MadeAnna’s POVI dragged my weary legs across the hard marble floor, my already trembling hands clutching a bottle of cheap liquor. The flashing disco lights from the club pierced through my eyes now and then, forcing me to squint and shut them repeatedly. My eyes, bloodshot from too much drinking, burned beneath the weight of exhaustion. My deep brown hair was a tangled mess. I staggered through the crowded club, shoving aside anyone who stood in my way.All I wanted was to get out—breathe in some fresh air. The place was packed to suffocation.“Move!” I snapped, pushing a young woman standing in my path. She shot me a scornful glare as she stumbled to regain her balance.“Get your drunk self out of here. I’m not the cause of your frustration,” she hissed before walking away.Drunk self. Her words echoed in my head like a slap. How pathetic. That I—Anna Stone—of all people, would be called that.Once a well-composed woman who never stepped foot in a club,
