Detective James took a deep breath, shuffling through notes and organizing files related to the recent arrests. He checked the case summaries and pieced together evidence that could connect the thieves to the past crimes, like the Abibba house robbery and the infamous wedding heist. He knew he didn’t have time, and the mayor was waiting for answers.

A light knock on the door broke his concentration. James lifted his head and called out, “Come in.”

Detective Lewis stepped in. “Morning, James,” Lewis greeted while nodding. His voice was calm, but there was something serious in his eyes.

“Morning, Lewis,” James replied, leaning back slightly in his chair. He raised an eyebrow, sensing there was news.

“The interrogation is set up. The suspects are waiting for you,” Lewis informed him.

James nodded, and his face turned serious. “Good. Let’s get this going,” he said as he stood and gathered a few necessary files from his desk.

Lewis stepped back out of the office, giving James room to follo

Victor stood by the window, his fists clenched behind his back. The morning sun lit only half of his face; the rest was hidden in shadow. There was fire burning in his eyes, and he looked serious. He turned slowly to Titan and said, “First thing…we capture Matteo. That snake’s been watching Marco for too long. We end that today.”Titan nodded without hesitation. “Consider it done, boss. I’ll have my men on him in an hour.”Victor’s eyes narrowed a little. “Make sure it’s quiet. We don’t have to raise any eyes, and there shouldn’t be any mistakes.”“I’ll handle it myself if I have to,” Titan said without hesitation.Victor walked back to his chair and sat down, tapping his fingers on the table. “After Matteo is handled,” he continued, “we move to the next step. I’m going to send a few... messages.”Titan tilted his head. “Messages?”Victor looked up. “We leak a tip to the city council. A little information about where Nicholas Amaro’s money really goes; his shell companies, foreign acc

As the laughter died down, Nicholas turned his head slowly toward Matteo, who still stood quietly by the window, and it was now time to talk business.“Matteo,” he said, “any update on Marco Thompson?”Everyone turned to look at Matteo.Matteo stepped forward, with his hands behind his back. “I’ve been watching him closely; I didn’t make any move yet, I’m just observing.”Nicholas raised an eyebrow. “And?”“That building,” Matteo said, shaking his head. “Morano Enterprise; it’s no joke. There’s security all over with guards at every entrance, not forgetting cameras. You can’t just walk in and out without being questioned.”Nicholas nodded slowly, his eyes narrowing with concentration.“But I know his pattern now,” Matteo continued. “He leaves home at exactly 7:15 every morning. Gets to the office before 8. He uses the same vehicle; probably provided by the company, and he use the same route too.”Nicholas leaned back, thinking.“I even found out where he lives,” Matteo added. “He stay

The black van rolled quietly into the dark street, just before midnight. The sky was cloudy, and the air was too suffocating, like something big was about to happen.Leo sat in the front seat, looking out the window. His eyes were focused; he knew exactly what he was looking for. “There,” he said, pointing to a narrow street across the road from the club. “Park there, there’re no cameras.”Dallas nodded and slowly turned the wheel, guiding the van into the narrow path. It was dark and quiet, the perfect hiding spot.Across the street stood The Iron Flask, Victor’s club. The lights were still on. A few people were hanging around outside, talking or smoking. Music played softly from inside; and there were people there, who were having a good time.Inside the van, it was quiet. Everyone was getting ready.Leo opened the bag in his lap. Inside were the tools: bottles with gasoline, rags, gloves, and masks. Dallas checked his lighter. Jonah loaded a small fire starter. They all knew their

Before leaving the room, Nicholas turned at the door.“No mistakes,” he said, looking right at Leo. “Make sure he knows it’s me, but don’t leave a trace.”Then he walked out, the door closing softly behind him.Maxine rolled her chair closer to her desk and started typing fast. “Alright,” she said, pulling up a detailed map on her screen. “This is The Iron Flask.”Leo, Dallas, and two other men, Rafe and Jonah, moved in around her. Their eyes locked on the screen. The map showed every room, hallway, exit, and security spot.Maxine pointed. “Here’s the main entrance; and it’s too obvious. But the club also has a wine cellar down here, with a back door for staff deliveries.”Leo crossed his arms. “That’s where we get in.”Dallas leaned in, his eyes narrowing to understand. “How’s the security back there?”“Less guarded,” Maxine replied. “Only two cameras, and there no guards after 10 p.m, and it’s easy to sneak in.”Jonah asked, “Are we using firebombs like the others?”Leo shook his he

Once Marco was gone, and the office door clicked shut, Titus leaned back in his chair. His smile faded, and his face grew serious. He turned his chair slightly, reached into his coat pocket, and pulled out his phone. He dialed a number without looking, as he already knew it by heart. The phone rang once… twice… then Victor answered.“Titus?” Victor’s deep voice came through.“It’s done,” Titus said calmly. “The financial assistant, Marco Thompson, arrived early. He signed everything. He’s already started working.”There was a pause on the other end. Then Victor spoke, his voice was low but pleased. “That’s good. That’s very good.”Titus could almost hear the smile in his voice.Victor continued, “Listen carefully. There’s no time to waste. I want Marco to begin work on the Cayman channel. Make sure he’s handling only what we allow him to see; just the outer layer. He must start organizing transfers by today. Get him to sort and schedule dummy accounts for the first batch.”Titus nodde

Zagaff walked slowly across his home office, one hand in his pocket, the other brushing over the edge of his desk as he paced. His sharp eyes stared at the floor, lost in thought. His mind was still stuck on just one name; Sylvania Scarlet. He stopped by the window, looking out at the garden below, though he wasn’t really seeing it. His jaw tightened as he remembered something. The terrible news. The kind that had shook the whole city. The wedding heist. He let out a low, bitter sigh and shook his head. “She didn’t deserve that.”The memory of it burned in him; how her special day turned into chaos. Armed men, stolen treasures, and broken dreams. A woman like Sylvania… wept tears for something she didn’t deserve.Zagaff clenched his fists slowly. “That was no random robbery,” he said to himself. “Victor.”He spat the name like a curse. If there was one thing Zagaff hated, it was men who hurt women for power. And he was sure Victor had a hand in that heist.“I hope Nicholas crushes him
