LOGINCALEB
“Since we returned to California, your attitude towards me changed. Yesterday, I didn’t even understand why you looked moody when you returned from the meeting. You refused to have your meal.” Laura stood akimbo throwing words at me. “Do you even think it is easy to cook?” “It is just some personal stuff, you don’t have to be worried,” I replied indifferently. “Can we have some fun together when you return from work?” She asked seductively and I wondered if everything revolves around sex. “Sorry, that won’t be possible. I have a lot to attend to. When I return home, I know I will be exhausted.” I said with a tightened face. “But you always create time for me. Caleb, what has changed? Please talk to me.” She asked with a pitiful tone, trying to make me feel bad. She continued, “Caleb, don’t treat me this way. Don’t you care about my feelings? We are together yet I miss you like we are living in different worlds.” She paused and added, “Hope it is not what I am thinking?” “Keep your thoughts to yourself,” I said coldly. Please, I am not ready for all this. We will talk later.” I waved her off and left for the office. Since Sarah left my life, nothing has brought me joy not even Laura whom I chose over her. Seeing her yesterday only complicated my feelings. However, I wasn’t going to look weak and broken before her. I could barely concentrate when I got to the office. I couldn’t forget my conversation with her. What did Sarah mean by ‘you have no idea of what I have become since you betrayed me. Was I a terrible husband? She knew how long we had come. I didn’t know what prompted me to ask for a divorce. I understand that she is shattered and heartbroken but I am in a worse situation. A dialogue could have saved the marriage. Nevertheless, I admire her courage and outspokenness. The Sarah I knew would never talk back at me or look me right in the eyes when talking. Indeed, a lot has changed about her! My mind drifted to my door which slowly creaked open. I knew that only Silas could enter my office without knocking. “Caleb, what is wrong? You ignored my greeting earlier.” Silas uttered with concern visible in his voice as he walked into my office. “You look unhappy.” He added, “Is something bothering you? Talk me, brother.” “I can’t even explain but I feel sick,” I said, hitting my fingers against the table. “Let’s visit the hospital now.” “Visiting the hospital is not the solution to my sickness.” I let out a low sigh. Lowering my voice, I muttered. “I saw her yesterday.” “Who?” He asked with widened eyes. “Sarah!” “Hmm, this is the best time to tell you my mind, man. You were away from the country and we didn’t talk about this. Yet, you pretended like nothing happened. What made you feel Laura was better?” With each of his words, guilt ran through my veins. Silas wasn’t just my business partner but my best friend. We’ve come a long way and I’m not amazed that he could point out my flaws to me. How do I make him understand that Laura was my mistake and I’ll choose Sarah over and over again? How do I admit that I regret my actions towards her? How do I admit that I want to have her back? How do I sort it out? I couldn’t admit it to him at least not yet. “Forget it, Silas. It is nothing serious.” I lied but he didn’t buy my words. “Admit your mistakes, you have been a shadow of yourself since the divorce. You should discuss it with her, she should have a soft spot for you but I know a lot must have changed.” Silas explained and I placed my head on my table. After some seconds, I raised my head and glanced at him. Was it until I screamed before he would understand that I wasn’t ready for this? “I need some time to think.” I rubbed my temples. “Think about what? How she hope for you to return that night to celebrate your birthday with you? How she went out of her comfort zone to organize a surprise party for you. In the end, it was just a waste.” “Just let it slide, please,” I begged. “If I have the opportunity to have someone like her or even her, just know I will grab her with my full arms and love. I won’t her off my reach” Silas replied and winked. I stood up abruptly. “Don’t you dare! If you try that, I won’t mind chopping your fingers off. I would have harmed you before remembering we are friends. Sarah is mine, she belongs to me and she will remain mine forever.” “Finally, you have admitted.” He smiled. He pushed me to my limit to make his point clear and he was successful. “When will our goods arrive, we need them for production next week. How is the new branch thriving? Any feedback from the manager?” I quickly diverted the discussion. Silas cleared his throat, “Everything is going well so far. No cause for alarm.” ‘There is a huge cause for alarm, I hope my personal life does not affect my business and career.’ I thought. He added. “Any plan for tonight?” “No!” I replied indifferently, glancing at him. “Okay! There is this event that has been the talk of the town, it is within the fashion industry, ST Atelier. I know you are a lover of the latest designs. You could even get some collections for me, what are friends for? He laughed and continued. “Let’s feed our eyes tonight.” “But…” I was unable to talk as he interrupted me. “I won’t take no for an answer.” He said as he left my office. I just returned to the country, hanging out with Silas and driving around the area isn’t a bad idea. It is far better than returning to Laura who is always nagging. I don’t know why but I felt the night holds something unusual.SARAHCaleb has everything that any sane woman will desire but honestly, I couldn’t tell what I wanted from him.“Silas, extend my regards to him.” I said with a smile, trying to end the discussion. As though he knew the motive behind my words, Silas had more to say. I looked at Josh and Aunt Olivia, expecting them to interfere, but they disappointed me.“If you really care about him, his wellbeing will be important to you.” Silas continued and I couldn’t help but gasp. It was obvious that he wasn’t going to back off till he was done.“Of course I care about his wellbeing.” I spoke casually.“Sarah, but your attitude towards him says otherwise.” He responded and I glanced at him. My expression pleading with him not to say anything further.“Caleb is always worried about you! Whenever you vent your anger on him, you have no idea how destabilized and unproductive he is. Have you ever thought about why he is doing all these despite what happened in the past?” Silas words were cold, maki
SARAHWhat did the Police discover? I was eager to know. We arrived at the airport, but in my view everything happened slowly. I almost lost my cool when it was announced that our flight would be delayed by an hour because of weather conditions. While Silas tried to console me, Caleb ignored me.Eventually, we arrived at our destination. If it were to be another day, I would always be excited to be home but the case was different today – returning home to a fire incident.I left Caleb and Silas waiting for their driver to come pick them while I booked a taxi and went to my company.“What caused the fire?” I said to Becky whose hair was disheveled with shock still evident on her face. She was too emotional to talk. Seeing tears rolling down her eyes, I found my way to where aunt Olivia and Josh were standing. Paying attention to where their eyes was fixed, tears rolled down my cheek.“What a loss!” I muttered and it drew their attention.“Sarah, when did you arrive?” Aunt Olivia asked
SARAHI couldn’t explain how everything happened so fast. I didn’t know when tears found his way out of my ears. It was a lot for me to deal with; Laura followed me to a strange land to harm me.“Stop crying, Sarah. I understand how you feel but I promise you that Laura will be punished if she is found guilty.” Silas said to me softly.,“If she is guilty?” I shook my head in disapproval because I didn't like his conditional statement because it is glaring that she was behind it. “We need evidence, without it, it means we are accusing her falsely. I know she can do it but how do we apprehend her in the act?” He explained and I understood. He also informed me that Caleb had asked for the CCTV footage of all that happened at the workshop today but it didn’t show any image of some putting drugs into a bottle of water.I suspected that whoever did the job must be aware of the cameras around. Criminals don’t easily give room for flaws.Where could she have drugged my water without my notic
CALEBI widened my eyes when I saw Sarah lying on the floor. I was confused and scared.“Sarah! Sarah, look at me.” I said with a fearful tone but got no response.I invited her to the event, how then do I explain the sudden event to aunt Olivia, Nelly and even Josh. I heaved in fear; they all would be anticipating our return.Silas quickly called the hospital emergency line and they arrived few minutes after the call.I watched them put Sarah on a wheel stretcher and took her to the ambulance. I picked her bag and wanted to follow them in the ambulance but they refused. Silas and I had to follow after the ambulance using a taxi.I was disturbed and with the blaring sound of the ambulance, I gripped her bag hard, hoping she survives.I couldn’t account for Laura’s sudden disappearance. Inasmuch she wasn’t there when Sarah fell and went unconscious, I blamed her.All of Silas’ attempt to calm me down at the hospital didn’t work. I watched the doctor and nurses enter into her ward and I
I arched my brow in awe. They all fixed their attention on me, expecting my response. Toiletries are personal stuff! Even if I want to share my stuff with someone, then it shouldn’t be Laura. “Caleb, I don’t like to share my toiletries. I will suggest that you and your lover visit the mall to get what she needs.” I uttered, avoided mentioning her name cox it irritated me. Laura quickly interfered, “It is late, the malls would be closed by now. Try to understand, Sarah.” “What exactly do you want? A lot of things make up toiletries.” I said to her angrily. “It’s a female thing and I am shy to mention it in their presence.” She said, pointing towards Caleb and Silas. “Sarah, take care of yourself. We’ll excuse you guys now.” Caleb uttered and I noticed the uneasiness in his voice. He and his friends left, leaving me with my enemy. I knew this wasn’t going to end well. “Let me pick what I need.” Laura took a step towards my room. I blocked her path; I avoided her since she arri
SARAH“Forgive my act.” He whispered as he moved his hands and lips away.I couldn’t say a word; my body wanted more of him but I couldn’t bring myself to say it. I smiled and moved a bit to maintain a distance between us.“Who do you suspect to be behind all these problems?” I asked, trying to divert my mind.“I can’t say but I feel the person is monitoring our moves and has agents on his or her side. I will always be there for you; you have nothing to fear” He replied and grabbed my hand. “I promise the person will be exposed soon.”It is not just me but Nelly and Aunt Olivia. I can’t bear to see them get hurt, they have to be protected at all cost.“Let’s go to bed now, tomorrow is another day. I hope soon we have a life free of fear and chaos,” I quickly said before I received another kiss that might lead to another nine months journey.“Sleep well dear, I look forward to having more of this moment with you.” Caleb said with a wink and it made me smile.Caleb had more to say but I
CALEBI had a lot on my mind but the person I want to share it with is Sarah. Silas glanced at me at intervals. I appreciated all he told me, it was my cross and I had to bear it. At this point, I have to let go of Laura and win Sarah back but it won’t be easy as it sounds.“Thanks, see you tomorr
CALEBI was tired of staying alone and wallowing in my thoughts. I decided to visit Silas and maybe he will help me to find a solution to all this. Sarah was the missing piece of the puzzle of my life.Encountering her at the virtual meeting and having a conversation over the phone made me feel us
SARAH “Are you expecting a visitor?” I asked Aunt Olivia when the doorbell rang at seven in the evening.“Not at all. Answer the door and let’s know who is there.” She said and I stood up.I was so tired but I made my way to the door. Earlier, Nelly was so clingy and it took a lot of time before I

Mr. Michael sent me Sarah’s contact after the virtual meeting that we should discuss further
