MEET THE FIVE ALPHAS

CHAPTER ONE

Nova Sterling Point Of View.

“Fresh meat is here for the Alphas!” These words pierce me as security drags me through Bloodmoon Academy's gates. My boots slide on the wet concrete, and I almost fall off.

Toronto’s skyscrapers glow behind us. The city’s tall, shiny, and sharp glass towers reflect the ever-changing sky. The town's architectural curves and angles appear bold, beautiful, and gracious.

Then, five Alphas come out from the academy's woods. Their designer clothes cost more than everything I ever received in foster care.

Kieran Mercer steps forward first. He is the CEO heir of The Mercer Group Of Companies. His Armani designer jacket stretches over his shoulders; he has never known hunger.

His golden wolf eyes track my every move like prey worth stalking. “Lost little wolf,” he says, caressing my bonding gland and weakening my knees.

I pushed him away. “Keep your hands to yourself, Mercer.”

Jace Wilder flips a silver coin between his tattooed fingers. “Think she’ll last ten seconds?” His smiling wolf fang is displayed under the academy’s harsh lights.

The Wilder family owns half the city’s nightclubs. Jace dresses like he was born with VIP status. He has emerald eyes, a light beard, and a cute smile.

Gideon Cross appears without making a sound—very sleek. He has a military buzz-cut hairstyle and a scar that divides his eyebrows. His family sells security to billionaires, and his military-grade boots look like they’ve crushed battles.

Vaughn Kingsley fixes his platinum Rolex watch. “She’s here now. Can we start the game?” He is a Tech Empire prince with Ice-blond hair. His eyes aren’t natural but embedded with micro tech that processes and analyses data.

Everything about him pings—his suit, his smile, how he dissects me in one glance. I can see his tech hand glowing radiantly.

Then there’s Callan Rhodes. No titles, with a hoodie that covers scars from the pack massacre that finished his family and left him alone. He glanced at me with amber eyes that held unspoken words. His dark, curly hair fell over his face.

Suddenly, Someone shouts amongst them, “Run.” The sound vibrates through my ribs, so I run. Leaf branches whipped my face as I ran through bushes and shrubs.

My necklace burns—a cheap silver thing from a Scarborough gas station. The necklace's pendant catches light rays and trembles with a heartbeat rhythm.

The “one bride, five alpha chase” is on. And I will be bonded and wedded to any of the five Alphas that catch me first.

Kieran catches me first. One second, I’m running; next, I’m pinned against an oak tree. “Submit to me.” He places his forearm at my throat while his body burns like a furnace.

I bite him hard. My teeth sink into the tendon between his neck and shoulder until blood floods my tongue.

Then Light explodes between us. His skin glows, and our blood mixes. A silver moon mark tattoos my wrist, bonding me with Karen.

No. This wasn't the plan. I was supposed to escape. But my body betrayed me.

"What the hell?" Kieran stumbles back in shock, fingers examining the bite mark.

Jace’s laughter echoes. “Told you she’d be fun.”

Vaughn’s phone illuminates his angry expression. “That’s not how trials work.”

Gideon watches, arms crossed, but his golden-grey eyes darken.

Callan steps forward last. His rough fingers brush mine. Sparks shoot up my arm. “She’s not following the rules.”

Kieran grabs my marked wrist. “You’re mine now.”

Vaughn seizes my other arm. “Hell no, I wanted her to be mine.”

The necklace scorches my skin as I am surrounded by the smell of power and five guys. Here, I am tossed between five Alphas with only one chance to survive.

This Reality hits me like a splash of cold water. But I can face it knowing that I possess the secret that could destroy all of them.

Then, I twisted free from their grip. My legs shake as I walk toward the clinic door.

“That bite mark looks better on you than Kieran's fiance.” Jace's voice echoes in the clinic, sweet as the apple-flavoured vape smoke he blew across my face.

I blink against the harsh LED lights pointing directly at my face. My tongue is still coated with the taste of Kieran's blood. The silver band mark on my wrist shines and follows the heart monitor's rhythm. Slow and steady. It seems they drugged me.

Jace relaxes in the chair beside my bed, resting his designer sneakers on my medical tray. The heir to Wilder Nightlife empire seems to belong in a Yorkville club, not a hospital.

With his beautiful emerald eyes, his artfully messy brown hair, and his cute smile that makes my stomach flip.

His thumb brushes my bonding gland, and sparks ignite my feelings. “Kieran's going to regret marking you,” he murmurs, “Kieran's father wants him mated to some diamond mine heiress,” He leans in and watches my pulse jump.

My fingers fly to my bare throat. "Where's my necklace?"

Jace dangles the cheap silver chain from his fingers. The necklace’s pendant eyes glow faintly. “This old thing? It's funny how it matches the Sterling crest.”

His wolf canine tooth comes out. “I even heard that the last Sterling heir supposedly died in a fire accident.”

Then the door slams open. Gideon Cross occupies the doorway; his military boots sound silent on the marble floor. The scar slicing through his eyebrow squeezes tight as he disapproves of Jace's closeness to me. “Get out, Wilder.”

Jace flips his silver coin. “Relax, soldier. We were discussing how her family used to own the ravine before Vaughn's dad bought City Hall.”

The necklace drops onto my chest, burning through the thin hospital gown.

Gideon's golden brown eyes darkened as the necklace pendant glowed with a blood-red flash.

“You shouldn't have bitten Kieran.” Gideon steps closer; the scent of pine and gun oil clings to his clothes. His fingers trace my mark, sending sparks down my spine.

“This isn't just a bond. It's a declaration of war.” his voice hums against my ribs, so soft but heavy that I feel it in my bones.

“There will be a problem when Keiran’s father discovers this bond.” Gideon's grip tightens on my wrist. “Run now and save yourself,”

Then, the clinic door bursts open again. Vaughn Kingsley leans against the frame; his platinum hair shines under the fluorescent light.

“The pledging ceremony begins in twelve minutes, and you're not even dressed.” His voice slices through the clinic as he tosses a black garment bag onto my bed.

The Kingsley tech heir looks like he stepped out of a Milan fashion editorial. His winter mint cologne clashes with the room's antiseptic smell. He adjusts his diamond cufflinks with a sigh. “Father wants her at the pledging ceremony. "Unharmed.”

Gideon's phone rings. “Kieran's coming. Something about stolen Identity.” His gaze lands on the pendant of my necklace. “Choose your pack wisely, little wolf.”

He then slides the window open and perches on its edges as rain splashes on his face. The soldier heir says nothing but holds his hand to me with scars all over it. His brown-gold eyes shine in the dark. They say, “Come with me, I'll protect you.”

But then footsteps start approaching the room. Someone’s already at the door. The handle begins to turn, and I freeze like a statue—my heart pounds in my chest. I am not yet prepared to face Kieran’s father.

Could it be Mr Mercer? Has he found out about my bond with his son? Is he coming to threaten me.?

My eyes won't open. My lungs won't breathe. The steady beep of a heart monitor counted my heartbeats. The movement of rubber shoes grew louder and closer until they stopped beside me.
