(Kael's POV)

A disquiet settled over me. I tossed and turned, caught in the clutches of a vivid dream.

I was standing on a cliff overlooking a turbulent sea. The sky was a bruised purple, and the wind howled like a banshee. Alaric stood beside me, his face etched with worry. The waves crashed against the rocks below, each one a thunderous roar.

Then, the storm intensified. The sky ripped open, and rain lashed down with relentless fury. The sea swelled, rising higher and higher, until it threatened to engulf us both.

I tried to run, to pull Alaric with me, but my feet were rooted to the spot. He reached for me, his hand outstretched, but the distance between us grew wider with each passing moment.

A monstrous wave, black as ink, rose from the depths. It crashed over us, swallowing us whole. I gasped, choking on the salty water, struggling to breathe.

Then, darkness.

I woke up with a start, my heart pounding in my chest. The room was dark, save for the sliver of moonlight filtering thro

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    I DIDN'T CHOOSE TO BE THIS WAY

The voices echoed inside Kael's mind, a harsh refrain of whispers that had the power to shatter the fragile peace he had achieved. He stumbled back to his room after going to see his mother— to make sure that she hasn't heard rumors about her son being a dirty whore. His heart beats inside his chest like a trapped bird. How would his mother feel to learn such a thing? His mother will not believe her darling boy to be any of that but she will get worried sick over his well being.Entering his room, Alaric welcomed him, his expression contorted in a worry that eased a bit the moment he saw Kael."Kael, what is it? You're pale."Kael yearned to be laid to rest in Alaric's arms, to let the Alpha's strength wipe clean the sting of the servants' jibes and the unsettling quiver of Amora's veiled queries. But fear gnawing at him would not allow it."Amora… she summoned me to the library today," Kael began, his voice trembling slightly. "She was asking about sub genders, specifically male Omeg

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    I LOVE ALARIC

(Kael's POV)I sit in the deafening silence, tracing the delicate patterns on the silk bed sheet, a gift from Alaric. The material was soft against my skin, a stark contrast to the rough linen I'd been used to in the servant's quarters. I still feel a twinge of guilt accepting such lavish gifts, but Alaric insisted. The Alpha Prince seemed determined to shower me with affection and material comforts, as if trying to make up for lost time, for his initial rejection.I don't even know how to feel sometimes.A knock at the door startled me. "Come in," I said, my voice a little too high.It was Alaric. He strode in, his presence filling the room. He wore simple training clothes, his hair slightly disheveled, a clear sign he'd just finished his morning exercises. "How are you, little star?" He asked, his voice a low rumble that held love. You can tell when a man is in love and I can surely tell Alaric is in love with me… ohh, if I could just get rid of the unease and doubts in my head."I'

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    ALPHA'S TOUCH

(Kael's POV)“Is this why you brought me so close?”The moonlight is dripping across the velvet carpet when the door creaks open.I don’t even bother looking up. His scent hits me before the sound of his boots does—warm, woodsy, laced with desire. It’s only been two hours since he left my chambers after dinner, but Alaric is nothing if not predictable when it comes to me.I smirk at the sketchbook in my lap. “So… is this why you moved me into the chamber right next to yours?” I ask without looking up. “So you can sneak in at night like a possessive rogue?”He scoffs behind me. “You’re accusing me of being a rogue? That’s rich, coming from the Omega who keeps forgetting to lock his door.”“I didn’t forget.” I flip a page delicately. “I left it unlocked.”A pause. Then, the bed dips beside me. His weight. His warmth. His need to be close.“I should punish you for that,” he murmurs, voice low, lips grazing the shell of my ear.I roll my eyes, trying not to shiver. “Later. I want to show

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    FOR THE BETTER

The servant quarters were quieter in the evenings. Familiar. The air always smelled faintly of lavender soap and worn fabric, and Kael’s steps slowed instinctively as he approached his mother’s door. The hinges still squeaked the same way they had when he was just a child sneaking in after curfew. She was sitting on the bed, mending a sleeve when he knocked and entered without waiting. Her eyes lifted, and the moment she saw him—clean, groomed, and not in uniform—her needle stilled in her fingers.“Kael.” Her voice was soft, but it held everything he’d missed these last few days. Warmth. Worry. Love. “You’re glowing.”Kael laughed under his breath as he shut the door behind him. “I don’t know about glowing, but I’m clean and not limping. That’s a start.”She patted the space beside her on the bed. He sat, and for a few seconds, they didn’t say anything.“I saw you,” she finally whispered, “that day. At his marriage ceremony. You were holding the silver tray, trying not to cry.”He loo

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    NO LONGER A SERVANT

The early-noon light filtered in soft and golden, kissing the skin Kael couldn’t quite bring himself to cover. He lay tangled in silken sheets, limbs sore in the most delicious way, his cheek resting on Alaric’s bare chest. The steady thump of the prince’s heart lulled him, the warmth of their shared body heat making the world outside the bed feel like a forgotten dream.Alaric’s arm was draped over his waist, heavy and possessive, even in sleep.Kael traced lazy circles over his chest, his fingers trembling just slightly. It had happened. It really happened. And yet...“Alaric?” he whispered. The chest beneath him rose with a deep inhale. “Mm?”Kael shifted, propping himself up on an elbow. “You broke my bed.”A lazy, satisfied smirk tugged at Alaric’s lips. “Seriously? Oh, I'm not sorry.”Kael rolled his eyes, but the blush blooming across his cheeks betrayed him. “I know you are not. I asked you to claim me, like mark me, not leave my ass sore and bed broken.”Alaric blinked, and t

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    YOURS

The knock was too sharp to be polite.Kael blinked awake, heart thudding, the remnants of restless dreams still clinging to his skin. He sat up slowly, squinting at the faint light spilling in from under the door. Dawn hadn’t even broken yet.Another knock. No—it was a pound this time.He dragged himself out of bed, bare feet silent on the stone floor. When he opened the door, the breath caught in his throat.“Alaric?”The prince stood in the hall, dressed in a loose dark tunic and pants that did nothing to hide the tension in his frame. His jaw was set. His eyes—those gold-tinged eyes—were wild.Kael barely got a word out before Alaric pushed past him into the room and shut the door behind them.“You’re mine,” Alaric said hoarsely, like the words had been scraped from his throat.Kael stared at him, stunned. “What—?”“I watched you,” Alaric ground out. “All day. With him. You laughed. You let him touch you.”Kael stiffened. “And why shouldn’t I? He treats me like I matter.”“Because

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    THE PRINCE'S SHADOWS

The scent of spring clung to the garden, warm and heady beneath the midday sun. It was the same garden where Kael had once knelt in the dirt, pruning royal flowers like they were sacred. Now he strolled its cobbled paths with a quiet kind of ease—a freedom he hadn’t possessed before.Alaric watched from the balcony above, his hands clenched around the stone balustrade.Kael wasn’t alone.Aaron walked beside him, shoulder brushing shoulder as they rounded a corner near the wisteria arch. The younger prince was saying something—lighthearted, probably, judging by the laugh Kael let slip. It was soft and fleeting, like a breeze against Alaric’s skin. And it burned. He couldn’t hear the words, but he didn’t need to.Aaron tilted his head as Kael plucked a small bloom from a vine, and Alaric watched—fuming—as Aaron reached out and gently tucked the flower behind Kael’s ear.Kael stilled. So did Alaric. The Omega looked up, caught off guard, a faint flush creeping into his cheeks.Aaron smil

  • FORBIDDEN BOND: The Alpha's Desire    ASHES AND BLOOM

(Kael's POV)The garden was quiet when dawn broke, except for the soft rustle of wind through dew-laced leaves and the sleepy hum of birds testing their voices. I hadn’t returned to Alaric’s room. I hadn’t returned anywhere, really. I’d wandered until my legs ached and then curled up beneath a moonlit arbor, too tired to cry and too wired to sleep. When the palace woke, I rose with it, slipping through the halls like a ghost in borrowed clothes. No one noticed me.No one ever did.Except now they did. It was in the way a pair of patrolling guards glanced at me and whispered. In how a maid stilled when I passed, then turned her head too quickly. Word had spread.I wondered what they thought they knew.At mid-morning, I returned to my tiny servant’s quarters, the room I'd once thought of as a sanctuary. It felt too small now, too shallow. The bed untouched. The chest at the foot filled with old linens and half-read books. There was a knock.I stiffened, heart leaping in my throat. But i
